I. PURPOSE:

The Purpose of this standard operation procedure (SOP) is to provide clear and consistent guidelines for
the 3 types of maintain of screw head machine, Baler and container. This SOP aim to insure that all the
employees follow a standardized approach, thereby maintenance quality, efficiency and safety while
reducing the error and inconsistencies.

II. SCOPE:

This SOP applies to all the employees who are responsible for platforming routine maintenance of
company equipment within AMAZON. The SOP cover the following aspect of company equipment
maintenance:

 Preventive maintenance
 Reactive maintenance
 Reporting

III. AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY:


1. Responsibility:

Operation services ensures that proper maintenance of facilities and equipment is done to ensure they
are reliable and available during and after intervention.

Head of mechanical team insures the date of follow up with costumer in need of reactive maintenance.

Technician insures the intervention (Preventive maintenance / Reactive maintenance), filling the check-
lists and reporting for the notes and act should be done in the urgent delay.

IV. METHOD:

Equipment used are placed in a suitable layout to enable the production of the Destruction of cartoon,
ease of cleaning, movement of materials, mobile equipment and personnel.

Equipment used in the Destruction And readily identifiable by appropriate labelling.

1. Maintenance of equipment

Routine maintenance such as lubricating of parts, changing of parts is conducted by qualified and
competent personnel internally or externally. External maintenance service providers will be sourced
from the approved list of external service providers.

A. Procedure Breakdown maintenance:

Communicate the breakdown to the engineering department (through usual tools) and provide relevant
notes about how the breakdown happened.
Engineering authorizes a technician to attend the scene of the breakdown and ask for a work permit to
access to costumer premises.
While carrying out the breakdown maintenance, ensure the following steps are taken:
 Switch off the power supply of the machine and put up a sign that says “Under maintenance”.
 Discuss the breakdown details with the operator to understand the situation.
 Inspect the machine and check the cause of the breakdown.
 After identifying the cause, mark any parts of the machine that need to be dismantled (In case).
 Keep the dismantled parts of the machine in a labeled tray and clean them thoroughly.
 After the repairs, reassemble the parts and check for smooth operations.
 Lubricate the parts whenever necessary as per the manufacturer’s instructions (check Manual)
 After the breakdown has been satisfactorily repaired, demonstrate a trial operation to the
operator and confirm the repairs are sufficient.
 Remove the “Under maintenance” sign.
 In case a major part needs to be replaced, follow a change control procedure (this will need to be
created separately).

B. Procedure of preventive maintenance:

Company equipment present within costumer premises are maintained through a fixed schedule issued
from the manufacturing manual. (Annex 1)

As agreed with HOLFORDFM the preventive maintenance is planned during the first week of each month

While carrying out the preventive intervention, ensure the following steps are taken:
 Getting a work permit for UNITED Global services technician from HOLFORDFM ( sending the
Technician ID, Date/hour of presence within costumer premises)
 Getting a work permit for the SUB-Contractor in case of need (Providing document required by
costumer)
 Carrying the security process of costumer MSRA.
 Checking all the point on the check list (ANNEX 1)

 Filling the MACHINE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE (ANNEX 2)
 Getting signature from HOLFORDFM supervisor.
 Getting Signature from United global services Mechanical ENG.
