Materials:
SKEINO Operetta Shawl Kit
• Yarn 1, 1 hank Single Precious (60% fine merino, 40% silk, handpainted)
• Yarn 2, 1 hank Kid Mohair (70% kid mohair, 30% silk, handpainted)
Two size 10 US (6mm) double-pointed needles
Size 10 US (6mm) circular needle, 24-32” long
Two stitch markers
Gauge: 14 stitches and 24 rows in Garter Stitch = 4 inches
Finished Sizes:
Medium: centerline is 32” long, shoulder line is 64” long
Large: centerline is 42” long, shoulder line is 84” long
Pattern notes:
This shawl is knitted top-down, beginning at the back/center of the neck.
There are three center stitches, between two markers.
Increases are 4 stitches every-other row, made by knitting the bar below (Kb).
Abbreviations:
S1: slip 1 stitch as if to purl
Kb: knit bar below
K2tog: knit 2 together
YO: yarn over
K-YO-K: knit into the stitch and do not drop from left needle, YO, and knit into the stitch again. Then slip
“old” stitch from the left needle
PM: place marker
SM: slip marker from L needle to R
SLW: slide work to other end of circulars or DPNs
Setup Rows:
Using DPNs, cast on 3 stitches with Yarn 1.
Row 1: (RS, Yarn 1) S1, K-YO-K, K1 (5 sts)
Row 2: (WS, Yarn 2) S1, K4
Row 3: (RS, Yarn 2) S1, (K-YO-K) 3 times, K1 (11 sts)
Pattern:
You will knit one row with Yarn 1, and two rows with Yarn 2.
Increase every-other row.
Pay attention to RS/WS, some rows start without turning work.

Continue the rest of the shawl, as established above:
