1. HEADING: ROAD ACCIDENT KILLS – 05
1.1.BY LINE: by C. A. SELVAN
PARA: 01 Sadabad, 4th September, 2020: A fatal accident occurred near Sadabad, Agra-Aligarh National Highways on
04th September, 2020 at 11:00 PM near Sadabad Police Station. The UPSRTC bus that was travelling from
Agra to Dehra Dun collided with a Maruti K-10 going to Agra and 5 passengers were killed on the spot. The
driver, 4 passengers in the bus and 3 local residents standing beside the road escaped with minor injury.
PARA: 02 The eye-witnesses reported that both vehicles were over-speeding. The car was trying to overtake a truck
without caring for the bus on the opposite side. In a wink of an eye, both collided with a thunderous sound
in which the car was crushed to scrap. The bus driver was thrown out of the bus and suffered multi-fractures
in his right leg and left hand. The bus went out of control and dragged itself to the side-walks and knocked
down 3 locals with minor injuries. The dead and the injured were immediately rushed to the Bagla District
Hospital, Hathras. The injured were given first-aid and were discharged after a complete examination. The
bus driver was taken to Agra by the police. The dead were taken to Agra Medical College for post-mortem.

local volunteers also joined the police and rescue team. An F.I.R. was filed in the Sadabad Police Station.
PARA: 03 The fatal accident annoyed the locals and they demanded barriers and speed-breakers to be installed
immediately at the spot. They grieved that such accidents were frequent as the road-users often violated the
speed limit. This fatal accident demands the responsible attitude of drivers respecting the traffic rules. The
police should be more vigilant and aggressive to track the offenders and impose severe punishments that
alone can minimise the mis-happenings on the road.
