Introduction
Public infrastructure projects are essential to the socio-economic development of the Philippines.
These projects, which include roads, bridges, water systems, schools, and public buildings, aim
to enhance the quality of life, promote economic growth, and ensure the efficient delivery of
public services. Despite the numerous initiatives undertaken by the government and private
sectors, a significant number of infrastructure projects experience delays, cost overruns, and
substandard outputs. These issues not only waste public resources but also diminish public trust
and hinder development.
This thesis proposal seeks to investigate the critical factors that influence the success or failure of
public transportation infrastructure projects in the Philippines. The study aims to provide
evidence-based recommendations that can help improve the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of such projects.
