Baylor Pick-Up Ultimate Frisbee Club


Preamble We the people of the Baylor Pick-up Ultimate Frisbee Club hereby hold these truths evident. We will play Frisbee in a fun and sportsman like manner, we will always accept any willing person to play Frisbee, and we will always support the construction of new relationships and friendships among the Baylor community. Article I Name The name of the organization is the Baylor Pick-Up Ultimate Frisbee Club (P.U.U.F.C.). Article II Purpose The purpose of this club is to help give new students on campus the opportunity to play Frisbee, give older students who enjoy playing Frisbee an opportunity to play Frisbee, and to give faculty or anyone on campus that may just want to play a game the opportunity to do so. The purpose of this club will to be to build friendships, strengthen old ones and make new acquaintances with people who share the same interests. This club will not be exclusive by any means and will always accept any willing person who just wants to throw a Frisbee around. This club will also give the opportunity to people who have always been interested in playing Frisbee for the first time. It is also the purpose of this organization to abide by the code of Student Conduct and uphold the educational mission of Baylor University. Article III Membership Membership is comprised of people affiliated with the Baylor community. Active membership of this organization shall be chosen without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, color, disability, national origin, age, or marital status. This organization supports and encourages respect for political, religious, ethnic, racial, physical, generational, sexual, and intellectual differences because such respect promotes free and open inquiry, independent thought, and mutual understanding. Membership will be open offered to non-students, and as long as they pay dues and come to ten percent of the activities they will be allowed to vote. Article IV Hazing This organization will not take part of any form of hazing. This organization also complies with all State and Federal laws and Baylor University Hazing Policy. Further, the member of this organization understand that any individual or group found responsible for hazing will be subject to disciplinary action, which may result in probation, suspension, or revocation of University recognition. Article V Officers To qualify to be an officer in this club you must be an active member for at least one semester. The officer positions will include president, vice president, secretary, historian, treasurer, and social chairman. We will hold elections on the last month of every semester and every position

will be up for election. If a position were to become vacant suddenly then we will hold impromptu elections at the next meeting to fill the void. The Presidents responsibilities will include going to all the games (or as many as he possibly can). He will bring everyone together to help start the games, decide who are the team captains, will decide whether a foul was committed or not, and will also help calm down any heated situations between players. He will also be in charge of running the meetings of the club. The vice president will do all of the presidents responsibilities if the president is not able to go to the games. The secretary is in charge of gathering everyones schedule and looking for the two best times during the week for which the largest amount of people can play. The secretary will also be in charge of taking the minutes of the meetings and later putting them up on the groups online group later that day. The historians responsibilities will be to take pictures of games and all the major events we attend and posting them on our website group page. The treasure will be in charge of keeping record of all dues and the dispersion of money to committees with officer approval. The social chairman is in charge of putting up posters around campus informing people of our games, game times and where we play. Article VI Executive Board The chain of command amongst the officers goes as follows. The person who holds the highest authority is the Adviser should he be present, then the President, Vice president, Secretary, Historian and finally the social chairman. One of these people must be at every game to insure there is a fair game and no disputes occur Article VII Adviser The adviser for this club will be allowed to be adviser as long as they wish/ are able to be adviser. The adviser will have voting privileges and will also have vetoing privileges unless the vote is unanimous. Future advisors can be any faculty member who enjoys playing Frisbee in a friendly environment. This organization will select and secure an advisor from the active faculty or staff of Baylor University and will register their name with the Dean of students annually. The advisor will be informed of all meetings and activities of the organization and my call a special meeting of the organization to discuss concerns for the ongoing nature of the organization. Article VIII Meetings Meetings shall be held thirty minutes to an hour before or after pre scheduled Frisbee games This section should explain when and under what circumstances meetings are held. The president will call the meetings ahead of time and all members and advisor shall be alerted ahead of time via text message. Quorum will be decided by at least fifteen people. We will have scheduled meetings once every month. In case of need of an emergency meeting we will send out a mass text message and email informing all members at least two days ahead of time of said meeting Article IX Committees There are not any committees at this time, but committees can be made by a majority rule vote at meetings. Any finances will be dispersed by the treasurer with officers approval.

Article X Sanctioning, Impeachment, and Removal In the situation of gross neglect of duty or other just cause an emergency meeting will be held and if there is a seventy five percent agreement amongst members, the officer can and will be impeached. Article XI Rules of Procedure The rules of procedure for meetings shall be as follows. The secretary will make note of the time the meeting commences and will also note the amount of people present at the meeting (assuming it meets quorum). All points brought to a vote will be noted. Once all important issues of have been noted, the President will call the meeting to a close and the secretary will take note of the time. This will be posted on the groups social page for people who couldnt make it to the meeting will be able to see what occurred during the meeting. The rules of procedure will take precedence at meetings but during club activities (Frisbee games) the constitution will take precedence. In order to maintain active status, this organization will comply with all Baylor University policies and procedures, including financial regulations, which pertain to student organizations. Article XII Constitutional Amendments In regards to constitutional amendments, any active member may propose an amendment at a meeting. One month later a final vote will be taken by all members present at the meeting to see if the Amendment will be passed. All members will be alerted an amendment was proposed via email and will be able to vote on said amendment on the final voting night. An amendment must get a seventy five percent agreement to pass Bylaws The bylaws are the detailed procedures and working guidelines of the organization which govern the day-to-day operations of the organization and accompany the constitution. People running for an officer position will be allowed to officially put in their bid for the running one month prior to the election night. Article IV Finances Dues will be ten dollars per member and they will be due at the first meeting of each semester. The appropriation of funds will be controlled by the treasurer. The spending of any more than fifty dollars must be approved by a vote by the officers and all receipts of spending of club money must be kept by the treasure. Heads of committees may request funds from the treasurer and the treasurer must come to the officer to discuss if it is an appropriate amount of money if it is over fifty dollars. In the occurrence of this clubs dissolution all extra funds will be donated to Baylor University. Article V Activities Most activities will include Frisbee that will be at set places and times and members will be given at least an hour notice before the game goes on. The purpose of these activities will be to build a friendly and inviting environment for anyone who enjoys the game of Ultimate Frisbee or just wants to try playing for the first time.
