have pushed human limits. But these ventures are extremely costly, often costing billions of
dollars. This raises a major question: is it worth it?

Some argue that the money could be better spent on solving Earth’s problems like poverty,
climate change, and disease. They see space travel as a luxury, not a necessity. Others
believe space exploration is vital for humanity’s future. It can help us find new resources,
detect threats like asteroids, and even provide a backup planet.

Moreover, space programs create jobs and spark innovations that benefit everyday life—
such as GPS, satellite communication, and medical imaging. Exploring the unknown also
fuels curiosity and inspires generations of scientists.

While we must balance priorities, completely abandoning space research would be short-
sighted. A responsible approach—investing wisely and promoting international
cooperation—can make space exploration both valuable and sustainable.

In the long run, exploring the cosmos may help us better understand and protect our home
planet.
