Moonrise Necklace

This easy garter stitch beaded necklace creates a perfect circle with a bit of short row shaping. This
simple piece is an addictive and mesmerizing knit as you watch the beads make their own pattern..
what will the next row be like??

Materials:

Yarn: smooth laceweight yarn that is free of knots, 30 yards


2.0 mm (US 0) double pointed needles, preferably wood or bamboo - 2
Bead assortment - approximately 40 grams, or up to 1/2 cup of assorted beads
Dental floss threader for threading beads onto yarn
Yarn needle, preferable sharp and fine
Clasp

Dimensions:

Approx. 3/4" wide, circumference adjustable to fit.

Abbreviations:

B on WS of work, slip bead close to right needle. When you knit the next stitch, a bead will rest
securely between the first and second stitches on the RS of the work
k knit
RS right or public side of work
w&t wrap and turn - bring yarn forward, slip next st from left to right needle and pass yarn to the
back around the st, return slipped st to left needle, turn
WS wrong or private side of work
Instructions:

Leaving a tail of about 8", cast on 6 stitches.


Knit 4 rows.

Begin Garter Stitch Beading Pattern:

Row 1 (WS): (K1, B) 5 times, k1


Row 2 (RS): Knit to end
Row 3: (K1, B) 5 times, k1
Row 4: Knit to end
Row 5: (K1, B) 3 times, k1, wrap and turn
Row 6: Knit to end
Row 7: (K1, B) 2 times, k1, wrap and turn
Row 8: Knit to end

For pattern, repeat Rows 1-8 until necklace almost reaches around neck, or until it is the desired length.
Work Rows 1-4 once more.

Finishing

Knit 4 rows. Bind off. Cut yarn, leaving a tail of about 8".

With yarn needle, sew right and left sides of clasp to ends of necklace using the tails. Weave in ends
securely.
