📖 Reading: "Detective at the Party!

"

Text:

It’s Saturday evening and Detective Daisy is at a costume party.

She usually works on Saturdays, but today she is relaxing... or trying to!

There is a problem! Someone has stolen a slice of cake.

Daisy looks around. People are dancing, laughing, and eating.
A tall man with a pirate hat is drinking juice. A short girl with red curly hair is talking on the
phone.
A boy in a superhero costume is looking nervous.

Daisy asks, “Who took the cake?”

The pirate says, “I don’t eat sweets. I always eat fruit.”
The girl says, “I’m on a diet. I never eat cake.”
The boy says, “I love cake, but I didn’t take it!”

Suddenly, Daisy sees something… a piece of chocolate on the superhero’s mask!

“Case closed,” she says. “Cake criminal caught!”

Evening – veče

costume – kostim

Suddenly – ubrzo

Case – slučaj

‍🏫 Lekcija: “Agreeing and Disagreeing in English”
("I ja", "Ni ja", "Ni on", itd.)

1️⃣ POZITIVNO SLAGANJE: “I JA”

Objasni ovako:

👉 Kada hoćemo da kažemo "I ja" ili "On takođe", koristimo:

 ✅ TOO (na kraju rečenice)

 ✅ SO + pomoćni glagol + subjekat (na početku)

📌 PRIMERI:
– I like pizza.
➡️I like pizza too.
➡️So do I.

– She is happy.
➡️She is happy too.
➡️So is he.

✨ Napomena: “So do I” zvuči formalnije / pismenije, “I do too” je češće u govoru.

2️⃣ NEGATIVNO SLAGANJE: “Ni ja”

👉 Kada hoćemo da kažemo "Ni ja", koristimo:

 ❌ EITHER (na kraju rečenice)

 ❌ NEITHER + pomoćni glagol + subjekat (na početku)

📌 PRIMERI:

– I don’t like coffee.

➡️I don’t like coffee either.
➡️Neither do I.

– He isn’t tall.
➡️He isn’t tall either.
➡️Neither am I.

🎯 Istakni razliku:

 “either” → ide u negativnoj rečenici

 “neither” → zamenjuje celu rečenicu (i koristi inverziju!)

BONUS: Either...or / Neither...nor

🎓 Postoje i ove dve konstrukcije:

✔️Either... or = ili... ili

– You can drink either tea or coffee.

(Možeš ili ovo ili ono.)

❌ Neither... nor = ni... ni

– I want neither tea nor coffee.

(Ne želim ni jedno ni drugo.)
✨ Takođe je ispravno:
– I don’t want tea or coffee. ✅

🔹 1. EITHER – ili / bilo koji (od dva)

✅ a) Kao zamenica/pridev (znači “jedan od dva”)

Koristi se kada biramo između dve opcije.

– You can choose either dress.

(Možeš izabrati bilo koju od ove dve haljine.)

– I don’t like either option.

(Ne sviđa mi se nijedna od dve opcije.)

📌 either + jednina
– Either answer is correct. ✅
– Either of the boys is ready. ✅

✅ b) Kao veznik – either... or = ili... ili

– Either you call him now or I will.

(Ili ga ti zovi sada, ili ću ja.)

– We can go to either Paris or Rome.

(Možemo ići ili u Pariz ili u Rim.)

✅ c) Na kraju rečenice (u negaciji)

– I don’t like sushi.

– I don’t like it either.
(Ni ja ne volim sushi.)

🔹 2. NEITHER – ni jedan (od dva) / ni... ni...

✅ a) Kao zamenica / pridev

– Neither answer is correct.
(Nijedan odgovor nije tačan.)

– Neither of them is ready.

(Nijedan od njih nije spreman.)

📌 neither + jednina glagol

✅ b) Kao veznik – neither... nor = ni... ni...

– Neither my mom nor my dad speaks Spanish.

(Ni moja mama ni moj tata ne govore španski.)

– I want neither coffee nor tea.

(Ne želim ni kafu ni čaj.)

✅ c) Na početku rečenice (slaganje u negaciji)

– I don’t like cold weather.

– Neither do I.
(Ni ja.)

🔹 3. TOO – takođe, ali i “previše”

✅ a) Značenje “takođe”

– I love chocolate.
– I do too.
(I ja volim čokoladu.)

✅ b) Značenje “previše” (too + pridev/prilog)

– It’s too hot today.

(Previše je vruće danas.)

– She talks too much.

(Previše priča.)

🎯 Too + adjective/adverb = negativno preuveličavanje

🔹 4. SO – takođe, ali i “tako / veoma”

✅ a) Značenje “takođe” (So do I)

– He is funny.
– So am I.

✅ b) Značenje “tako / veoma” (so + pridev/prilog)

– I’m so tired.
(Tako sam umorna.)
