CHI TIẾT:
1.Trợ động từ "do/does/did" (thường dùng với thì hiện tại đơn và quá khứ đơn):
VD: Not only does she play the piano well, but she also sings beautifully.
(Câu này sử dụng "does" trợ động từ ở hiện tại đơn và "play" là động từ nguyên
thể, vì đây là câu khẳng định đảo ngữ)
2. Trợ động từ "have/has/had" (dùng với thì hiện tại hoàn thành và quá khứ hoàn
thành): VD: Never has she seen such a beautiful sunset.
(Ở đây "has" là trợ động từ và "seen" là quá khứ phân từ của động từ "see".)
Not until had I finished my homework that I went to bed.
(Ở đây "had" là trợ động từ, và "finished" là quá khứ phân từ của động từ
"finish".)
3. Trợ động từ "will/can" (thì tương lai và khả năng)
Với các trợ động từ "will/can", động từ chính sẽ ở dạng V0 (nguyên thể) nếu câu
sử dụng thì tương lai hoặc thể khả năng.
Ví dụ:
So angry was he that he could not speak.
(Ở đây "was" là trợ động từ của "to be" trong quá khứ và "angry" là tính từ, không có
động từ nguyên thể đi kèm.)
