1. Belching and unauthorized behavior is unacceptable in modern offices. How far you
support this view? Give your response with justification.
In present modern offices, belching and unauthorized behavior is unacceptable was always a
debatable topic. Many people working in cooperate offices believe that employees behaving with
such activities should be punished. I completely agree with the statement that such behaviors are not
acceptable in office environments.
The following essay would further elaborate on the reasons why it is not encouraged in office
premises with proper justification and thus lead to a plausible conclusion. Firstly, modern
established companies and organizations are built with certain guidelines and policies under several
categories to support the employees. Although belching is biological, it is an inappropriate method
of releasing air from your filled stomach and it is not accepted in a social culture that we live today.
It also disturbs others and makes them feel uncomfortable. For example, an employee after having a
heavy lunch in the afternoon releases a sudden gas through his mouth which will be very disturbing
to other employees.
Secondly, good understanding between employers and employees is important for an organization
to grow but few employees do unacceptable behavior creates a problematic situation. Various
situations cause and for an employer to have to deal with these problems accordingly and effectively.
Some of the unauthorized problems such as accessing restricted content make a huge loss for the
employer. Furthermore, bullying other employees, bad manners, harassment, abusive language,
aggressive and many more are some of the problems.
From the above, it can be analyzed that employees involved in such activities may also lead to
termination. According to the arguments aforementioned, one can reach out to the conclusion that
employees involving in belching and behaving against company policies will be treated with strict
policies and sometimes organizations ask employees to put their resignations.
2. University only requires to apply digital media rather than continuously upgrading
textbook. Agree or disagree.
The importance of upgrading content through digital media rather than printing textbooks has
sparked heated arguments among certain people. Many people believe that the textbooks' nature is
replaced by e-textbooks that are beneficial to both students and colleges. I strongly agree that in a
Page 1 of 28
digital age where everything is downloadable as PDF formats, upgrading the content is the best
method to choose.
This essay would further elaborate on why institutions have to adopt digital media to change their
subject content with clear examples and thus lead to a plausible conclusion. Firstly, in the fast running
world where innovations and advancements in technology are happening daily. These developments
are happening in all fields, including educational department, banking sector, farming, and many
sectors. Eighty per cent of college and university student’s own laptops, and an increasing number
are purchasing tablets, smartphones and handheld devices. Recognizing the increased adoption of
mobile devices, publishers are offering an increased number of textbooks in digital format. These
digital books are also called e-textbooks that can be accessed through and downloadable on tablets,
e-readers, smartphones and laptops.
Secondly, the adoption of e-textbooks and with interactive learning systems is projected to increase
the demand for e-textbooks exponentially in the next two to three years. Moreover, it provides as to
select and download any e-textbook from the internet. It reduces the time and money for universities
to print textbooks for every updated semester; instead, they can edit the content through social
networking websites and post on the college website. For instance, recently, a survey conducted by
the University of California showed that out of 100 students, 85 students are choosing digital e-books
are a source of study.
According to arguments aforementioned, it can be concluded the advantages and benefits from e-
textbook overweighs traditional printed textbook. In a nutshell, in future years, it is anticipated that
most of the universities and colleges will adopt digital media to apply new subjects.
3. Government should reduce their investment in arts, music and painting. Agree or
disagree.
The music, art, and painting contribute an integral part of a country due to multiple factors. Still, some
people believe that the government should reduce investing money in music, art, and painting. In this
essay, let's look at the effects of these values on human life.
Music plays a vital role in society's welfare, as some people believe that music keeps our mind relax
and entertain. Moreover, the combination of music, art, and painting contributes to society's
development as theatres and films are a source of entertainment, and they contribute towards the
country's growth. So, it is the responsibility of the government to spend some amount of budget on
cultural activities.
On the other hand, some people think that the government is wasting money while promoting music,
art, and painting as these values are nowhere related to a financial transaction. However, cultural
and regional events are the fundamentals of any country, which can be showcased by various actors
while working in movies. In movies, the demonstration can be given to people by musical songs to
get to know about historical events.
In conclusion, the government should leverage tax on films based on cultural events as they support
the country's heritage.
4. Which should require more financial support from the government? Health or
education? To what extent do you agree or not. Use your experience.
In recent decades, both health and education are attracting a great deal of attention due to its
substantial impact on human development. Many people believe that the government should support
both the fields. I strongly agree with the statement that the government should support health more
as it plays an important role in everyone's life. This essay would further elaborate on why the
government should spend on health with justifying reasons and thus lead to a plausible conclusion.
To start with, there are several reasons why the government should pay and support for healthcare.
Firstly, thanks to the government’s financial benefits and health schemes which are contributing
well-being to many low-income individuals who cannot afford the hospital expenses. Further, the
health care departments and ruling governments have to work together to initiate and take these
schemes to remote areas where there are no hospitals build. For example, in remote areas, the
government has to build more and more hospitals for rural people as they cannot commute to urban
areas for treatment. It is clear from the example that the government should be more focused on
supporting and improving the health benefits of its citizens.
Furthermore, those people who diagnosed with dreadful diseases, it is difficult for them to go
undergo treatments because the cost to treat these types of diseases are very high. The government
has to provide free treatments for chronic diseases and provide prescription medicines at free cost.
It is considered that governments have to increase the financial budget for health care to improve the
medical facilities in countries. Moreover, in some developing nations, hospital facilities and
practitioners' medical skills do not satisfy international requirement. This means that individuals
must go abroad for more advanced treatment and have to pay the hospital fees by themselves.
In conclusion, governments are highly recommended to upgrade the hospital's facilities and build
more and more hospitals in remote areas for rural people.

5. Do you think cardless society is realistic and why? What are the advantages and
disadvantages?
Nowadays, due to the advancement of technology, the community prefers to use cards rather than
cash, which attracted numerous controversies and drawn the attention of the public. Some people
believe that using the cards offers many advantages, while on the other hand stands a perspective
that there are many cons associated with using an online card system. This essay will further
elaborate on both the benefits and drawbacks of the cardless society and thus will lead to a logical
conclusion.
At the outset, there are myriad benefits associated with using the online cards but the most
conspicuous one stems from the fact that it is a more convenient way to transfer money from one
place to another in few seconds. For instance, in early ages, the people need to travel for hours to
transfer money to other regions, but now they can simply send it from home by using the personal
reference number of the assigned person. Thereby, the use of a cardless system is indeed too great.
Nevertheless, there remain some drawbacks that can certainly overwhelm the potential benefits of
using cards and the most predominant one rooted in the fact that people who use cash do not need
to pay extra charges to the bank. Moreover, using cash is more secure than a card because the card
can be stolen and lost anywhere. Therefore, the use of cash can protect people from any kind of theft.
In the view of the arguments outlined above, one can conclude that despite having some benefits the
role of using the master cards in providing quick services is instrumental indeed.
The life expectancy of people has been increased due to the development of medical science which
sparked a heated argument among certain groups of individuals. Many people consider this as an
achievement of technology. Others reject this notion and don't see this as a positive development.
This essay will elaborate on the positive side of the medical field which is becoming a boon.
To start with, there is no doubt that development in the medical field has increased the life
expectancy of people. A recent data shows that the average death of a person has increased from 50
percent in 1990 to 70 percent in 2019. Consequently, early deaths are decreased.
Secondly, there are many benefits to the improvement in life expectancy, humans are making health-
related decisions and this achievement can be attributed to improvement in public health and
medical care. For example, new inventions in the medical field had found solutions to many dreadful
Page 4 of 28
diseases such as cancer, HIV and many. As a result, life expectancy has been increased during these
years. From above, the advancements in medical technology creates advantages for future life.
In a nutshell, it can be concluded that an increase in the average life expectancy rate can help people
to live a healthy life.
Analyzing motion pictures while at a place of education is as vital as learning literature. I agree with
the statement because studying films helps in developing creativity, is a source of inspiration for
many students and it helps the child in choosing correct life principles that can shape the career of
the student.
First of all, while researching films students can get attracted to the theme of the film and get inspired
to create and innovate in various fields of acting, writing, composing songs, singing, dancing and even
choreography. Many leading directors of Bollywood were once students and when exposed to the
films, they chose the career out of it. For instance, Shahrukh Khan, Sylvester Stallone are successful
stars in movies just because of their original work.
Secondly, films are a source of inspiration for many students. Mahatma Gandhi took a vow to always
speak the truth while he was watching the play of King Harish Chandra. This little spark of
enthusiasm, if taken care of and nurtured, can shape the personality of the students. Further, many
times the students pick up their lessons from the movies they watch. So the schools need to include
inspirational films in the curriculum of the school. Movies like Benhur, Apollo 13, Life of Pie, Dead
Poet’s Society and Pursuit of Happiness are a great source of information and lessons for the students.
Finally, while studying literature one can only imagine the stories, but while viewing the film a
student can see and remember the stories and the themes for a longer time. Accordingly, the
literature films are also as essential.
In recent years, there is an ongoing debate about whether children should focus more on learning
rather than participating in many exams. Many people worldwide claim that students should be more
concentrated on the learning part as it will help in a future career. I strongly agree with the statement
Page 5 of 28
that teachers should encourage to learn new topics in universities and colleges. This essay would
further discuss how learning plays a significant role in students' career with justifying reasons.
First and Foremost, in the fast running generation, where inventions are happening daily in every
field. Educational institutions have to more concentrate on teaching new technologies, innovations,
and developments instead of asking students to participate more and more in examinations. Children
should not limit their knowledge to books they have to involve and learn experimental learning
through different sessions. For example, they are advised to learn how machines work in real life
with practical examples and repeat them the same things after class.
Furthermore, exams conducted in schools teach students how to memorize the subjects' content and
present the same thing during the annual examinations. These exams do not help them in the future.
For instance, exams that are conducted in schools are of no use for them in real life. Learning helps
them understand the new topic and develop strong communication abilities required to build a
career. According to the arguments aforementioned, one can reach out to the point that the benefits
of learning in schools and colleges outweigh the advantages of exams.
In a nutshell, it is predicted that shortly all school organizations should be more concentrated on
practical knowledge.
Recently, the phenomenon of learning by experiment and its corresponding impact has sparked a
heated debate. Although contested by many that the matter of learning new skills is highly beneficial,
such an issue is regarded thoroughly both constructive and positive by a substantial number of
individuals. I am inclined to believe that traditional subjects can be a plus, and I will analyse that
through this essay.
From an educational standpoint, traditional subjects can give the society with some noticeable
effects which are rooted in the fact that physics as well as chemistry, are inextricably bound up. When
I was a university student, I performed an academic experiment that discovered new skills such as
research methodology, interpersonal skills, and time management. Thus, beneficial ramifications of
both physical and mental apparently can be seen. Within the realm of psychology, experimental
learning might increase the consequences of risking life. Moreover, the fundamental aspects of
researching the lab relate to this reality that the demerits of the wrong experiment pertain to health
Page 6 of 28
problems. As a tangible example, some scientific research undertaken by a prestigious university has
asserted that the downside of this learning is correlated negatively with social behavior. Hence, it is
correct to presume the preconceived notion of being practical.
To conclude, while there are several compelling arguments on both sides, I profoundly believe that
the benefits of traditional learning far outweigh its drawbacks. Not only do the advantages of learning
skills prove the significance of being good in society, but also pinpoint social implications.
10. Schools should organize activities after class. To what extent do you agree?
The importance of organizing activities after class was always a debatable topic. Most people state
that practicing sports should be made mandatory for students. I completely agree with the statement
that schools should organize and encourage school children to participate in extra-curricular
activities.
This essay would further elaborate on the reasons why schools should organize activities after school
time with benefits and thus lead to a plausible conclusion. Firstly, in a society where everyone is
concerned about health, fitness and physical exercise play an important role to contribute and
improve our health. The role of the schools is to promote and encourage students to participate in
different sorts of skills that include exercise, yoga, and many other sports activities. There are
numerous benefits attributed to students who participate in these events after school. It helps to
improve decision-making skills and helps kids encourage them to figure what they like and what
they're good at. Secondly, physical activities help students to develop socialization skills away from
the structure of the classroom. It may also associate with new friends at sports activities. These
events encourage teamwork and team sports are great for building teamwork, communication skills
and they also good at developing some strategic skills.
Recently, in Japan, a survey was carried out by teachers to measure the benefits of organizing events
after school time where they divided the class into two groups, one group had practised physical
activity for 30 minutes, while other groups watched the TV for the same amount of time. After the
survey, students were given a math problem to solve.
According to the arguments aforementioned, one can reach out to the conclusion that sports events
after school timings should be encouraged apart from their normal academic class.
11. Does a certain type of music affect young children's learning? Agree / Disagree
Page 7 of 28
Recently, the phenomenon of affecting the music on children's learning has sparked heated debate
among individuals. Some people state that the matter of playing music is highly beneficial while
others argue that it affects health. I am inclined to believe that melody can be plus for children. This
essay will analyze both sides with clear examples and thus lead to a plausible conclusion.
To start with, music has numerous benefits not only in learning but also to heal certain kinds of
diseases. It helps to improve concentration and memory power of young kids. It helps to open new
thoughts and ideas. Young children learning music can build pride and confidence. Learning certain
kinds of music helps us to overcome risk and deal with tough conditions. For example, children who
have stage fear will be able to build self-confidence and build a positive attitude while learning and
playing different musical instruments. Moreover, kids learn teamwork as most of the programs
require coordination among students. Children can also learn creativity and help them to solve any
problem outside the box.
On the other hand, the influence of instruments might increase the consequences of health problems.
As a tangible example, some scientific research done by a team of the prestigious university found
that playing piano for hours will lead to finger problems. From the above example, it can be seen that
learning and playing music can lead to several diseases to children.
According to the arguments aforementioned, one can reach out to the conclusion that learning
different types of music will not only promote learning but also build a secure future in the music
field. In a nutshell, I believe that the benefits of music far outweigh its drawbacks.
12. Some universities deduct marks from students’ works if given in late, what are the
problems and what is your opinion?
Universities deduct marks from students if works are given late was always a controversial topic.
Many people believe that institutions have to implement new methods of submitting the assignments
on time instead of cutting the marks. I can't entirely agree with the statement that few reminders
have to be sent before deducting marks.
This essay would further elaborate on the recommended actions that universities have to take with
justifying reasons, leading to a plausible conclusion. Firstly, the assignments or tasks are given by the
faculty or college sometimes may not be understandable to the students. They will wait for other
students to complete the task and copy the assignments from classmates. For example, the topic of
global warming will not be apparent to a few students who are low in their academics. This example
Page 8 of 28
exemplifies that the deduction of marks is not the best solution, and lectures have to think about low
performing students.
Secondly, reducing marks creates discrimination among students. University professors have to
think of new ways of submitting given assignments work on time. The best solution for this is
lecturers have to sit with the students and ask them the problems or concerns they face in submitting
the task. Universities must provide proper guidelines to such students and instil discipline and make
them punctual.
To conclude, instead of reducing marks, universities have to implement new ways for students who
do not submit assignments on time and encourage them with proper guidelines.
13. The time people devote to job leaves very little time for personal life. How
widespread is the problem? What problem will this shortage of time cause?
The time people devote to the job leaves very little time for personal life was always a debatable
topic. Many people believe that this shortage of time leads to many family problems and damages
human relationships. I believe that not giving enough time to personal life might lead to a dispute
between husband and wife.
This essay would further elaborate on the problems caused by giving space for personal life with
reasons and thus lead to a conclusion. Firstly, due to a high increase in the unemployment rate and
tough competition for jobs, employees are trying their level best outputs to the company by working
long hours in the office. Spending long hours in an office, pressure from managers and project
deadlines created by clients are causing people to lose their personal space which indeed leading
them to start ignoring personal lives. It creates disputes among families and between husband and
spouse which might lead to divorce. For example, because of extreme pressure on employees to
deliver the product on time will make them work on weekends and not providing enough time to
their families. Secondly, increased standard of living, variations in lifestyles, project deadlines and
competitive market can cause stress for the employees. For instance, a recent study conducted on
software employees by the University of California showed that out of 100 employees 88 people are
suffering from stress and depression because of the pressure. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of
the company and managers to provide space between personal lives and professional careers.
According to the arguments aforementioned, a healthy balance between personal life and
professional life is required to lead a prosperous life and further the organizations need to bring some
policies that benefit employees to lead happy and spend a good time with their families.
14. In a cashless society, people use more credit cards. Cashless society seems to be a
reality, and how realistic do you think it is? What are the advantages and
disadvantages of this phenomenon?
The essay would elaborate on the benefits and drawbacks of credit cards and so cause a conclusion.
Firstly, it's convenient for those who don't want to hold money once going for shopping. Another
advantage of credit card is that middle-class folks will not have enough cash to shop for groceries or
product, therefore through credit card, they will simply solve this downside. For instance, if we would
like to shop for television online, you'll be able to use credit as a payment possibility and get that.
Therefore, credit cards are helpful for us in our daily routine life. However, some people use credit
cards to pretend their standards in front of others. If a person does not pay the credit card bill on
time, they need to pay additional interest on it. Folks use credit card limits on the far side of their
monthly financial gain and fail to pay the amount on time. Finally, the interest rates of credit cards
are high that isn't reasonable by the middle-class person. For instance, if the person does not pay on
time, the bank can charge fifteen to twenty interest rates as of a late penalty.
In conclusion, I would wish to say that credit cards are helpful for each person however everybody
should get to use it according to the financial gain and condition.
Medical advancement in today's world has made notable progress in every field. Some people argue
that it is the most outstanding achievement of the society and the technological innovations in
medicine and science have improved many people's lives. At the same time, others reject this notion
and argue that it is insignificant to talk. I firmly believe that medical technology has increased human
life expectancy.
On the positive side, there are clear advantages to medical science. It has become possible to cure
life-threatening diseases like Cancer, AIDS, which were not possible earlier. Moreover, now all the
hospitals are equipped with advanced technology. For instance, earlier childless couples had no hope
Page 10 of 28
for kids. With advancements in medical science, childless couples can fulfil their desire by going
through IUI and IVF. In contrast, people against medical technology argue that there are hazardous
effects of these technological advances. Radiations emitted by the latest equipment for various
diseases are harmful and can lead to significant side effects to body parts. For example, the laser
radiations used to burn specific cells have adverse effects on the skin and the regular health checkups
are usually expensive, which cannot be affordable by the patient's family.
This essay discussed the potential benefits of medical advances and its negative impact on our health.
In my view, medical technology has proven the boon for the human's life expectancy and is a savior
to humankind.
16. Younger employees have more skills, knowledge and more motivated than older
employees. To what extent do you agree or disagree, support your argument with
your own experience?
Recently, the phenomenon of younger employees has more skills, knowledge and more motivated
than older employees and its corresponding impact has sparked a heated debate. Although contested
by many that the matter of complex procedures is highly beneficial, such an issue is regarded
thoroughly both constructive and positive by a substantial number of individuals. I am inclined to
believe that the younger employees can be a plus, and I will discuss controversial aspects of that
throughout this essay.
From a social standpoint, younger employees can provide society with some noticeable effects which
are rooted in the fact that the merits of critical issues, as well as ultimate outcomes, are inextricably
bound up. According to my own experience, when I was a university student, I performed an
academic experiment that discovered vocational education. Thus, beneficial ramifications of both this
common phenomenon and accordingly complicated procedures apparently can be seen. Within the
realm of science, younger employees might increase the consequences of critical needs. Moreover,
fundamental aspects of the faulty system could relate to this reality that the demerits of a laboratory
experiment pertain to health problems. As a tangible example, some scientific research undertaken
by a prestigious university has asserted that the downside of creative processes is correlated
negatively with vital issues. Hence, it is correct to presume the preconceived notion of this
remarkable phenomenon.
To recapitulate, while there are several compelling arguments on both sides, I profoundly believe
that the benefits of younger employees far outweigh its drawbacks. Not only do the advantages of
Page 11 of 28
this unique phenomenon prove the significance of total outcomes, but also pinpoint social
implications.
17. Some people think that life experience is more important than the formal education
provided in schools and universities. How far do you agree with this statement, and
provide examples?
Learning is the lifelong process that starts from birth and ends with the last day of life. A person
continues to learn many things from their daily routines. There are two required methods of learning
- either learning from books or through experience. It has become a debatable issue of whether
learning through books is the best one or experience is the more effective way of learning. But, I
firmly believe that experience plays a very important or significant role in learning, and this essay
will explain its importance. First, experience means the practical knowledge that a common man
achieves while performing their day to day activities. Practical knowledge helps us in more deeply
understanding than a theory which we learn from books. Also, the experience is not limited to any
extent or any field; it's varied from activities to activities. Furthermore, we remember things longer
through practical experience and with positive interactions. To go more in deep, experience helps us
become more socially active instead of studying materials in an isolated condition. Besides, with
practical experience, we can share personal thoughts with others and gain more and more
knowledge. Further, books provide only basic knowledge of the topic and actual selling of a product,
marketing, and distribution. In contrast, one can implement these techniques if one has better
experience in the respective field. Additionally, with practical experience, we become able to make
decisions more quickly. Because of having practical experience, we can handle critical situations
effortlessly. To sum up, we can conclude that whatever we learn through books is often forgotten,
but we never forget our first-hand experience.
18. A study needs time, peace and comfort, whereas employment needs the same thing.
Someone says it is impossible to combine those two because one distracts one
another. Do you think this is realistic in our life today?
Comfort, time and internal peace are required to make learning efficient. Hence, it is not possible to
do a job and study side by side. Occupation and education disturb one another. I strongly oppose this
statement because handling both these together is easily possible with strong willpower. I will
elaborate on points to support my opinion in further paragraphs.
Firstly, there are a lot of people in western countries, who do a part-time study and work full-time or
vice-versa. It all depends on the preference of the individuals. If they want to bear some hassle and
become more productive in their life, they can manage both things side by side. This not only makes
them knowledgeable but increase their potential as well. Moreover, there are a few parents who
cannot bear the expenses of their child’s education. Resultantly, they put their children into some
labour so that they can earn money for the family. But it does not mean that the child has to abandon
his dream of acquiring education. With firm determination, they can continue their education and
work to feed their families as well.
Secondly, sometimes people think they have completed their education, but when they get a full-
time job, they realize that a diploma or degree can increase their chances of promotion. Moreover,
some employers select the potential employee from colleges while they are studying and pay for their
Masters or Advanced Diplomas because they see their profit in that investment. Hence, studying and
working side by side helps candidates to grow professionally.
In conclusion, working and studying is very much possible. It just depends on the dedication and
determination of the person. People should do both study and work side by side to make themselves
more skilled and capable.
19. Environment pollution is too alarming to be managed by individuals. Real change can
be made at the government level. What extent do you agree or disagree?
Man is one of the precious works of creation. As long as man does not manipulate in the work of
nature, his life moves smoothly. The interest of man has increased greatly due to the progress of
science. According to the researchers, there is no such type of dirt in nature. The transformed nature
does not harm the world until humans act wrongly.
In today’s scientific era, the number of motor vehicles, rail cars, and factories has increased many
folds than earlier times. If the number of such vehicles and other pollution-causing agents increases,
the pollution will also increase. Many substances come from factories that are very harmful to health.
According to the researchers, the quantity of oxygen used in a motor vehicle for running 960
kilometres is the same amount of oxygen a man needs in one year. Similarly, aeroplanes, sugar mills,
leather, paper, and rubber factories also need fuel. The smoke that emerges from the burning of such
fuel is very harmful to health. This pollution travels to several kilometres due to airflow. Pollution
spreads in the air and thus, the oxygen deficiency also increases. To counter the problem of pollution,
the government needs to put factories out of the city and monitor their working. The government
Page 13 of 28
should find out different ways to avoid harmful smoke from vehicles and factories. Some of the
advanced countries have already taken some measures to meet it. If we fail to restore the ecological
balance right now, it would be too late tomorrow.
20. Positive And Negative Effects Of Technology Information Through Mass Media.
In the tech-savvy era, Mass media plays a vital role in our lives. The intrinsic purpose of mass media
is to spread information in less time. Media is divided into two categories – electronic media and
print media. Newspaper, magazines etcetera are examples of print media while internet, television
etcetera are the example of electronic media. Undoubtedly, mass media has both positive and
negative impacts on society. To begin with, electric media has a great positive impact on society. With
the use of the internet, people can watch news online on the mobile as well as on the computer. It is
a very easy way to assess the information. Moreover, television also gives useful information through
many channels. It gives current news and tell us what is happening around the world. Radio is also
the source of information at a cheap cost. In today’s world, almost every car has a radio so people can
get information while driving. Furthermore, myriad people read the newspaper in the morning. Some
people have the habit to read magazines while traveling. On the other hand, every rose has its thorns
so that mass media has some negative impact on common masses. Some people may believe in fake
news and information. For instance, information on social media like Facebook, Twitter and
WhatsApp are unsafe. Anyone can post any kind of information and pictures. People can misuse the
information and that leads to a rumor.
To conclude, it can be said that information through mass media can be taken as a highly
recommended experience only if the proper precautions and care is taken at every step.
21. Can money bring happiness? What are the factors for happiness?
For many people, life is all about money. People spend a lot of time either thinking about it or figuring
out ways to earn it. In this essay, I aim to look at whether people can buy happiness. People want
money for several things ranging from wanting to buy the latest gadget to help a loved get out of
some difficulty.
Money, for most people, has become the means for achieving happiness. But the question is whether
it’s essential to save $1 million for our retirement? There are a lot of people who have eschewed
lucrative career paths to do what they enjoy doing. And they live, happy, fulfilled contended lives.
These people are living proof that chasing and spending money are not the keys to happiness.
Sometimes, things that money cannot buy are the ones that bring happiness. Being able to spend time
Page 14 of 28
with family. Walking alone on a beach or learning how to knit a sweater after trying for several years
can all bring untold joy. For example, for someone who loves to learn, getting on the road to taking
up a new field of study could make them happy. I believe that being rich can help you get things but
might not let you be happy. There are millions of families that are not rich, but they are comfortable,
and happy. And these families often assert that money is not the reason behind their happiness or
sadness.
In conclusion, if one’s happiness rests in material things, money can make them happy. If not, then
no matter how much you spend, money cannot make you smile.
22. Successful sports stars and glamorous film stars are youngsters’ role model. Do you
support it or not?
Today, many youngsters follow celebrities like sports and movie stars as their role models. This can
be seen all over social media. It is disagreed to follow successful sportsperson or glamorous movie
star. This will be shown by taking into account the immoral acts of these sports personalities and
derogatory roles played by film stars. Successful sports stars and glamorous film stars are role
models for the youngster, this statement is quite apt if we talk about today’s era. Today, the world
has become so digitalized that it has become very easy to look into the lives of such successful and
big shots and follow them. So this is because we can now easily connect to these people and I will say
this is not wrong also as if one is becoming something in his/her life seeing someone else story or
following someone else feet then this can be a good path for them. Today we can easily see people
watching their favorite celebrities and getting inspired by them. They try to follow their ideology,
they try to get motivated by their struggle stories and then they mold themselves accordingly.
Though everything has its pros and cons. But I think these celebs can imprint more good impacts on
the lives of youngsters as youth wants to hear their idols. Let’s take an example today we can see
easily that endorsements are nowadays done only by celebrities which are giving great businesses to
the brands as youth is following their celebs and buying the products that are endorsed by their
favorite celeb.
In conclusion, it is quite an agreeable statement that today youth is making successful sports star
and glamorous film stars their role models in life.
23. The information revolution has changed the ways of mass communication and had
some negative and positive effects on individuals’ lives as well as on society.
There is no denying the fact that the modern world is full of the information revolution. People are
communicating in different ways. The trend of communication has changed within a short time. This
has both negative and positive effects on communication. I would like to discuss them in the following
paragraphs.
One-click and you have the access to almost every piece of information. TV, newspapers, social media,
apps and many more that are easily available to more than billions of people in this world. Whereas
it is great to see people getting so much information and getting an education via mass media but it
has its cons too. Too much information is available too fast. Mark Zuckerberg created such a platform
where two people who are sitting on the opposite sides of the earth are connected. Who would have
thought to talk would be so easier if you have your cousins or relatives abroad? On the other hand,
some people have access to all of the information you put into this website. Your address to your
phone number to your pictures which can lead to a cybercrime. Wherein, in such a busy schedule we
don’t get time to watch the news channel, we have these apps to read on the go, however, there are
criminals and terrorist too who have access to this information as well. Of course, we are
revolutionizing. But it has to be done in a manner that any activity done on any media is checked by
the officials. Mass media is to update and upgrade people. Rather a lot of people misuse it. They get
access to the bank accounts because too much information is available on media platforms. It is
important to get revolutionized but again if it is important to be safe and secure.
In conclusion, a continuous tracking should be done on what has to be broadcast and what not.
Information is empowering but only if it does not harm anyone.
24. If you get an opportunity to start a day which will be celebrated every year, which one
it would be and why?
In my opinion, the holidays help to remember important persons or events. If I get a chance, I would
start ‘Health Day’. There are many holidays but I believe that my day will be more beneficial to the
world than many of them.
First of all, to celebrate this day, people would be gathered in small groups to appreciate the value of
a holiday when actively participates in its occurrence. People from different generations, cultures,
and religions gathered and a lecture in honor of the brightest would take place. Some prefer to go to
the nearest park and celebrate it by walking, jogging or bicycling in-spite of visiting a restaurant or
watching a movie. They will go to a fitness center or a pool and marks a day of healthy food, fresh
juice and a lot of smiling faces. Smoking will be strictly prohibited everywhere on this day. Secondly,
Page 16 of 28
people amongst the group will socialize by exchanging opinions. People will be requested to use their
car as less as possible in order to prevent air pollution and to keep the air fresh. Some of them might
be influenced or inspired by other members. For instance, people often drive their car to the nearest
store to buy food though they can get there on foot spending five more minutes. Finally, “Health Day”
will help people relax and slow down the pace of their life. Life is very stressful these days. People
are competing for better jobs while companies and countries are competing for market and business.
So, this day will help people enjoy the moments of their life, leave their troubles behind, and
appreciate all they have. In summary, I believe my holiday would make people friendlier, healthier
and happier.
Sports and games are as important as books in a student’s life. We need to understand the fact that
students cannot continuously dig into the books. They anyways cannot perform well if they have a
monotonous routine. By monotonous here, I mean that they are not supposed to be clinging to the
books all the time. Hereby, I strongly disagree that sports and games create disturbance in a student’s
life rather I would say it brings positive change and helps in the overall development of the student.
It has been in the controversy for a very long time that students are not allowed to participate in
games and sports as they hamper their studies. However, I believe that active participation in sports
improves a child’s mental health and teaches them discipline. Also, playing together as a team
develops their teamwork skills. It increases their physical as well as mental strength. It makes them
self-sufficient and brings confidence. Also, I would like to add here that rather spending their time on
TV or gossiping, it is always better than students utilize their spare time playing games. Call it an
indoor game such as chess or outdoor game such as cricket. We need to encourage sports in our
country. It is as valuable as education. Sports and games have more advantages than disadvantages.
Rather these days’ parents are making sports as their child’s career choice. No denying that students
need to take their studies seriously but let’s not pull them away from sports as well. Make a routine
for them in which students can enjoy both books and sports and let them decide which is beneficial
for them in their future.
26. Many young people nowadays are imitating celebrities in sports and movies. In your
opinion, is this good or bad? Support your point of view with reasons and examples
from your own experience.
To know whom your child is following or considers his or her role model, just check their Instagram
pages they have liked. Either a movie celebrity or a sportsperson. It is great to see that such positive
influential people impact the younger generation mindset. They learn to work hard and appreciate
the hardships that come their way. Many celebrities and sports personalities have had it with a lot of
difficulties. They faced struggles and hurdles to get through. However, hard work pays off. Youngsters
follow their journey, learn from them and follow the same route. I have seen a kid growing up in front
of me in my neighborhood. He is a huge cricket fan. His idol is Sachin Tendulkar. He has built a passion
for cricket and improves himself rigorously. He is so dedicated to this sport that I can see him playing
cricket with these great cricketers soon. Seeing celebrities doing good deeds make them positive role
models for many of us. Let’s just say Angelina Jolie here. She does so much for society and has adopted
kids. One of my colleagues is a fan of her. She joined an NGO and work voluntarily on weekends. It is
great to see that people follow celebrities who are helping society to grow and develop. Hence, it is
not bad if people imitate celebrities and sports personalities if done in the right manner. Rather I
would say everyone should have such a role model who can bring such positivity in an individual and
drives you to work hard to bring growth in the society. It will help society and to the person as an
individual too, you would have a completely different personality which will be admirable for
someone else.
27. Nowadays, the mass media including TV, radio, and newspaper have become the
essential part of our lives. What is your opinion?
We cannot do without electronic media. Mass media is as important as food, water, and air. Mass
media keeps everybody updated about the world. We are aware of the local and international affairs.
It enhances general knowledge. Also, it keeps us entertained. Mass media has become part of a
routine. It is not only restricted to newspapers, TV, and radio. I feel mass media or electronic media
is beyond that. Emails, blogs, social networking, apps, newsletters everything has become part of our
lives. Though definitely, we are updated about everything that is going on in the world.
However, it has negative influence also on us. Since all these things are just a click away, youngsters
get to read unwanted stuff which causes pressure on their minds. Children are so much exposed to
the internet these days that unknowingly they are becoming victims of cybercrime, bullying and child
sex trafficking. Reports say that too much use of internet has caused many kids to depression and are
seeking counseling. Not just this, many have committed suicide due to cybercrime and bullying.
Because everything is out there on the internet, kids are using dating apps as well without the
knowledge of their parents.
Mass media has its own pros and cons. Although it keeps us updated, at times, it has a bad influence
on people. There should be a way to keep a track on what should be circulated on the media and
shouldn't be. Since it is an utmost important part of our lives, there is no going away. But we need to
make sure that we are protected from this especially the kids.
28. Some people think women should be given equal chances to work and excel in their
careers. Others believe that a woman’s role should be limited to taking care of the
house and children. Which opinion do you agree with and why? Include specific details
and examples to support your choice.
Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she’ll conquer the world, said by Marilyn Monroe. I feel this
quote explains itself that women are on par with men. There has been a lot of arguments doing
rounds on being a feminism, equality, sexism and more. All women want are equal rights and chances
to excel in their respective fields. I totally agree with this.
The world is changing so should we? Why some of us still think that women look good doing daily
chores and taking care of the children? Many people think that the only degree a woman should have
is to get married? Why do we keep on saying that a woman is settled only when she is married and
has kids? This needs to stop. Women are no more damsel in distress. They are self-sufficient and
confident. Look at Mary Kom, an Olympic boxer hailing from Manipur. The only woman boxer to have
won a medal in each one of the six world championships. Oprah Winfrey, American media proprietor
who had a terrible childhood but still stood up and now everybody wants to talk to her and be like
her. J.K. Rowling who is a global phenomenon. Rowling was a struggling author that considered
herself a failure. With her perseverance and courage, she overcame these obstacles and became an
international writer. Not just these. There are innumerable examples and heroic stories like these.
And on the contrary, I would like to add here that we always picture a woman in a kitchen and
cooking. What about all the cookery shows where we see men as chefs? So let’s not conclude which
roles suit whom. We should support every individual in their respective endeavor.
29. People usually mix their private and professional life. What are the pros and cons?
It is advisable to not to mix private and professional lives. Because of which many companies have a
rule that they do not hire their employee’s significant other. Mixing these two lives together can
create chaos. Personal life problems can impact professional life and vice versa. At times, people tend
to merge both of their lives. Having said that, it has both negative and positive impact.
Talking about positives, it involves same people, you are comfortable with. So the communication
becomes easier. One can interact with their co-workers outside of the work as well and can discuss
their work and personal problems at a casual meet. Not just this, you get to expand your social circle
by mixing these two lives. However, experts say that there should be a balance between these two
lives. Or in other words, keep them separate. Yes, it is difficult to manage but it proves to be beneficial
in a long run. It does not create chaos. Supposedly, if you end up having arguments with one of your
co-workers, it not only ruins the professional relationship and decreases productivity at work, it also
hampers the personal relationship. Hence, one should always keep both of their lives separate. Also,
it is not at all professional of you if you mix these two. It may end up creating bigger problems for
you. Yes, at times, we do enjoy working and having a relationship with the same person but as long
as it does not harm your professional and personal life. It is very hard to say that it will not. But if it
does not violate personal life and professional life then mixing up professional and personal life
should not be an issue.
30. The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those
who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn. Agree or disagree.
Illiterate of future would not be one who doesn’t know to read but people who don’t know how to
learn. This statement is quite apt as in today’s modern era we used to call people illiterate so easily
without even knowing the root cause of his illiteracy. But the thing is the people are illiterate as they
do not have proper resources, they are deprived of basic needs. They are not financially strong so
being illiterate is not their choice, it is their helplessness. But it is quite rightly said in the above
statement that illiterate will be now someone who instead of having enough resources is not willing
to know how to learn. In the modern era, we can easily see people who have enough resources but
they are deprived of inner willingness to learn. These are those people whom we should call illiterate
because, on one hand, we have those people who don’t know how to read and write just because they
do not have enough resources. But on the other hand, people having enough resources are not ready
to learn. These people do not even realize that how lucky they are to have all the resources with them
that can easily help them to grow to groom. We can easily see people in small villages and even in
urban cities who want to learn who wants to work but they cant as they are not literate and not
enough capacity to learn and to work. But we can also see people who are sitting in their offices
knowing nothing and not even having any will to learn. So it is the irony of fate that people who have
resources are not ready to learn and people who are starving to learn they are not having resources.
So it will be quite apt to say that
31. Company's Top level Authorities should or should not take employees suggestions or
ideas to take any decisions. Discuss.
Company's top-level authorities should or should not take employees suggestions or ideas to take
any decisions. This is the statement that shouldn’t be the topic of discussion as a company is made by
efforts of all the employees no matter what position he is having in the company. When we say
someone that he is the employee of our company then he is having a right to share his view his ideas
that are having for the betterment of the company. If we consider the fact, then top-level management
also consists of a group of employees who are serving for the betterment of the employee. So every
employee should set free to share his views and ideas regardless of their position in the company.
Then those ideas can be discussed and if we find that idea fruitful then we can appreciate that
employee to grow further. On the other hand, we can say top-level authorities are policy planners
and they decide policies on the grounds of facts and figures that they with them on paper. But
employees are those who daily face customers and actually go through what customer is facing and
what they actually want from us. So we can say that employees are the actual bridge between the
customers and the ambitions of top-level authorities. Employees are the one who can get even
smallest issue of customers to the top level so I think that ideas of employees should be
wholeheartedly welcome by top-level authorities for betterment of company as we all know that a
small spark can burn the whole forest so we should never underestimate anyone, no matter he is a
peon, a clerk or a top-level employee.
32. Xenophobia has accelerated rapidly in the Western countries. According to you what
solutions can be proposed by the government and individuals?
Xenophobia is not a medical term; it is basically a political term. It is the fear that is developing in
foreign countries due to foreigners being migrated to their countries. One can easily hear the news
that one group of the native country attacked another foreigner. We never came to know about the
exact reason of why it happened but we heard that particular group of the native country attacked
foreigner group. Today the process of migration is growing too rapidly. In order to survive in this cut-
throat competition and in hope of getting better future people are easily migrating from their own
countries. It is developing a fear in minds of native people that these migrated people are snatching
their rights, their opportunities. I think due to this frustration; Xenophobia is rapidly increasing in
western countries. We had seen few movies Like Crook, which also raised same issues where they
showed increasing hatred between Indians and Australians Both government and individual can play
a vital role in reducing this xenophobia among people. Once should stay positive and wholeheartedly
Page 21 of 28
welcome people of different countries. As it is not only helping them in knowing different cultures
but it is helping in boosting up the economy of their countries. They should understand that when a
person of other country coming to their country then he is not only bringing his culture but he is
bringing many things. The government should also act as a bridge between host and guest citizens.
They should start campaigning love all over. They should make their people assured that it is not the
murder of their rights but it is the beginning of a new friendship. Moreover, it will take the growth of
both individuals and country hand in hand.
33. The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education‐ Einstein. What does
he mean by that? And do you think he is correct?
“Education is the biggest barrier in my learning” in such a statement that if any normal person would
have said it then we would have called that a person a fool but when these words have come out of a
person whom we all called a genius Sir Einstein. When such a renowned personality is saying these
words then this should have some meaning. We all know that he was a genius but I never thought
that he can be a future teller too. I don’t know about his times and why he said these words but I must
say that if we talk about today’s scenario then this quote is perfectly fitting that Education is the
biggest barrier in my learning. Today education has just become a source of income and people have
started treating it like it's business. Also, the Indian system of education is becoming worst day by
day. We are just following a traditional approach in our modern education system where numbers of
generations are studying same courses for so long. Nobody is bothered if we applying our learning in
the practical world or not. For an example, if I will only take my case then I am not using even a single
theorem that I have studied in my course in my classes. What I am working on or what business, my
company is making has no link to what I had been taught in my classes. Sometimes even I think why
I have wasted my 15 years in going to school and learning what I have no use for now. So I will say
yes I agree with what Sir Einstein has said but in this era, it is more appropriate to say this.
34. Polygamy has increased widely in recent years. What solutions can you bring forward
to decrease this issue?
Polygamy is a term that defines a process of keeping more than one wife at the same time. This is not
a new practice or new thing. It is something that exists from the time of ancient India.
We have been studying and hearing that there was a king who had many wives. So the concept of
keeping more than one wife is termed as polygamy. We can easily see people in foreign countries
Page 22 of 28
having multiple relations but in a country like India, this is a taboo. There was a time when our rulers
used to follow this practice but when our laws and constitution came into force then these practices
were ruled out. Though still in India, Muslims are somehow allowed to follow this practice. But, when
Hindu Marriage Act came into existence in 1955, this practice was abolished for Hindus. But we know
change is the law of nature and when the times change, people change too. Today, the lives of people
have become more brutal and more stressed. We can easily see differences in the opinions of couples
so easily. We often hear a thing call EXTRA MARITAL affair. This is nothing just an advanced or
updated version of polygamy. It’s just that they are not officially married. In today’s era when a man
is not happy or satisfied with his wife, then he usually searches for some other shoulder or shoulders
to cry upon but he can’t keep the other person officially with him as it is not permitted by our law
now. So they get engaged in an extramarital affair where they are having a relationship which is not
acceptable officially.
So keeping all this in mind we can say that Polygamy has increased widely in this modern and brutal
life.
35. Formal examinations are the only effective way to assess a student’s performance.
Continual assessment such as coursework and projects is not a satisfactory way to do
this. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Formal written examination could be one of the ways to assess students. But I doubt that it is an
effective way to analyze student’s capabilities and learning.
The written examination is conducted to check whether a student has learned what he was taught or
not. To some extent, it is fine. It is utmost important to keep a track if students are getting any
knowledge or not. However, it does not wholly evaluate student’s skills. Written examination is
helpful to know if there is any loophole in pedagogical methods and where is the scope for
improvement? Also, educators or examiners get an idea from student’s written papers if they need
knowledgeable assistance. So yes, written examination is a must. But to be fully dependent on these
exams to evaluate their level of knowledge would not be fair. These exams can merely be cleared by
cramming. It makes unfair to other students who might not be good at their studies but their
intellectual level, skills, confidence, general knowledge are enough to take them to the heights. We
should not restrict ourselves just to the written exams to assess students. Group discussions,
presentations, practical exams, group activities need to be conducted to analyze the overall growth
of the student. We can judge any student on the basis of what he or she is taught in a particular class.
So for me, practical exams and group activities should be conducted to enhance their knowledge.
One’s career should be not judged on the basis of formal written paper. We should escalate practical
studies along with written exams. It improves learning ability and enhances the learning process. A
student should be assessed on the basis of just grades.
36. Nowadays, people spend too much time at work to the extent that they hardly have
time for their personal life. Discuss.
In this fast pacing world where everything is so competitive, people have forgotten about themselves.
Long working hours, meetings, traveling everything else has taken its place but social life. Since
everything is evolving so quickly, people have to acquire right knowledge and skills to adapt this
change. Because of which, we give way too much time to our professional life than personal life in
order to survive. Everything around is changing with the augmentation of technology. We as humans
are obliged to learn this technology so we are not left behind in our careers. Though of course, this
adaption to new technologies and skills give us financial independence other than success in our
careers. Everybody dreams of living higher standards. To meet these needs, people work very hard
at work. Despite the fact that they are spending a lot of time at work. Since we want to have a better
future, we end up compromising our personal lives. We all are aware that we are working so hard so
that we can have a great social life but this is so contradictory that none of us is actually having any
social life because of our work. There should always be a coordinated balance between professional
and personal life. Social life is as important as career or money. We should not do overdo either at
work front or personal front. Overtime at work can cause a lot of problems such as stress, anxiety
and more. We must maintain a balance between these two. Work hard but give time to family
members as well. Plan vacation after 6 months or go for movies or dinners on weekends. These tiny
little things can prove to be refreshing as well.
37. Education is the biggest barrier in my learning – Einstein. What do you mean by this?
And do you think Einstein was correct in saying that?
To start with, let’s just say I strongly agree with what Einstein has said. Today, the education system
has become merely about the rote learning and cramming. Our education system put emphasis on
the theoretical learning rather than the practical learning. As a result, youth is losing out their
creativity and passion for their favorite subject. “Education is the biggest barrier in my learning”-
said by Einstein perfectly sum up what I said above. Education system follows the same pattern and
teaches students the same way. It inhibits student’s creativity and innovation and pushes them to the
boredom. Learning should be about trying out new things, practical approach, asking various
questions and thus expanding horizons. Students must be allowed to follow their passion in schools
Page 24 of 28
only. Let’s just say if a student is pro at Chemistry and fails miserably at Math then why he must study
Math and appear for exams. Why cannot we push him for Chemistry and make him excel in his field?
We must give our youth the freedom to choose what they want to study. We must give them the
practical approach to help them succeed in their respective career choice. Sadly, our education
system does not support such theory and thus does not persuade students for their creativity and
innovation. We must put an end to this so that the youth follow their dreams and conquer the world
with their amazing ideas and creativity. It won’t be wrong to say that Albert Einstein had faced those
hindrances in his time while going to the school. His creativity has tampered with those traditional
methods of teachings. To conclude, I will add up here that Einstein was right. Education is and will
remain the barrier if we continue with the traditional method of teaching.
38. Children in many countries are eating more fast food and convenience snacks. Why
are children doing this and how serious are the consequences?
In this modern milieu, people love to eat fast foods. Junk food is a mass-produced food that is
prepared and served within few minutes. I believe that fast food is cheap, yet delicious but it is not
good for health. The negative point of aspect is that in this torrid pace of life people are working till
the end of the day. They have no time to prepare traditional food at home. Ultimately, they chose an
easy option of restaurants. MC Donald’s have become a ubiquitous term in every home. Nowadays,
everyone used to eat junk food. It is very oily and lacks dietary fibers thus they are hard to digest.
Moreover, regular consumption of such calorie dense foods can cause diabetes, high blood pressure
and lots of obesity-related diseases. The positive aspects of the point being that in this competitive
society usually, everyone wants to save time so they prefer to order fast food from home at any online
sites. People of all age groups like to eat junk food and they generally chose to eat whenever they
enjoy special time with family like the birthday party, marriage anniversary and so on. Admittedly,
there is an influence of occidental culture. Families assess to sit together and eat over the dining table
that way they shared their happenings of the day that result in family bonding relationships become
strong. According to my perception, no doubt it is convenient, luring, yummy and delicious but its
overconsumption will be dangerous for health. People should take fast food but it should be within
limits. In full of the day, if an individual takes high calories then they should burn it in the same day.
If they can’t burn, then calories turn into fat that is become harmful for health. To recapitulate,
everyone should avoid eating junk foods in order to enjoy good health and happy life.
39. Violence in the media promotes violence in the society. To what extent do you agree
or disagree?
Media has become equally important as air, water, and food. People watch movies, TV shows as
their recreational activities. Nonetheless, some of us get so engrossed watching those shows that
we think it’s real especially youngsters and teenagers. Because of which they cannot really
distinguish between reality and fantasy. When it comes to watching violent movies, children get
highly influenced and imitate same actions. I feel that violence shown in the movies or TV impact
children and unfortunately, they are more prone to becoming criminals. Not just the TV, social
media is also full of these violent videos. Children are highly exposed to this virtual violence and
there are more and more such videos flooded on the internet. There is a continuous trend that we
see of explicit content on TV. Shows based on violence and brutality are trending. Young people and
children are more likely to engage in harmful activities and behave aggressively due to these shows.
Definitely, every human behavior is different. Since children are gullible, they cannot really
differentiate between right and wrong. As a parent or an individual, we see kids behaving
aggressively, we need to stop them right away. We don’t know if such kind of shows will ever stop
airing on media. However, authorities should take some initiatives to curb this. These shows might
lead to crime in our society and steps should be taken accordingly. However, as a human, we should
take responsibility to stop this. Do not watch such shows. Indulge in outdoor activities, sports or
more. Do not let kids exposed to these kinds of violence and explicit videos. This can be put a full
stop right at home.
40. Some effective people like repetitive routine such as eating the same food, do you like
this way? Discuss your views.
Almost everyone has a daily routine. A proper time is set for every activity. At times, you may bring
a bit of a change in routine. However, some people follow the repetitive routine. Like, they get up at
the same time, eat the same food, read at a particular time and sleep on time. I do feel this is great. It
is hard to have a sold routine and maintaining it is harder. Though, I think a little change does not
harm anyone. I do have a routine of myself. I have worked on my schedule and execute tasks
accordingly. But I don’t restrict myself to follow the same routine. Let’s just say I like eating food at
this particular café. However, it does not mean I won’t explore other places. I would want to see
other places, try different varieties of food and explore more. It is understandable that it may be
difficult for people who have a solid routine because they think they are in control. On the contrary,
I think they have limited themselves and do not diversify their experience. When a person
Page 26 of 28
inculcates a particular habit in him or her, it becomes difficult to move on from one habit to
another. They refuse to change rather they are scared of change because they are too comfortable
in their routine or specific habit. This is one thing that do not let them grow. One has to change to
adopt the change. You can follow the same routine but to a certain level. In my opinion, a little
change is a must. Having a routine is the best thing. It keeps you disciplined and active. But a little
switching here and there in routine is fun.
41. What was the most important invention of the last 100 years?
Last century witnessed the biggest leap in scientific advancements in the history of humankind. Some
of the most important ones are computer, robots, artificial intelligence and cloning. In my opinion,
the most beneficial discovery for people in my country is the discovery of a computer. Now, India has
become one of the leading figures in software development and business process outsourcing.
Millions of Indians are engaged in computer-related jobs in India and abroad and earn their
livelihood. Thus, computer and information technology have a great influence on the Indian economy
at present. Secondly, it has made improvements in the lives of people. In fields like education
transportation, medicine, banking, and the weather forecast, the computer plays an unavoidable role.
To illustrate, bank transactions have become faster and flawless. Using a single card and a security
code, one can handle one’s accounts and withdraw money at anytime and anywhere. Furthermore,
features like the internet have become possible only due to computer. It made communication easier
and faster. This certainly helps a country like India with millions of people and a very vast landscape
with a lot of geographical barriers including mountain ranges, rivers, and even deserts. This
improvement in communication brought about by computer helps in keeping the populace united.
To sum up, I believe that the computer will bring much more benefits in the future and it will IP India
reach further heights. Thus, the computer is the most beneficial invention of the last century.
42. These days, cheerleaders are an important part of many national and international
sporting events. Is Cheerleaders a Sport or necessary in the sport. Discuss the role of
cheerleaders in sports and games.
Like any other walk of human life, sports and games too undergo many changes. While many people
accept the changes wholeheartedly, many others look at them with disdain. The relatively new trend
of cheerleaders’ in sports grounds also has gained the approval of many and the wrath of many. Those
who are against this practice allege that the dancing girls can only act as an instrument of distraction,
especially at very important moments. They go on to assert that a true sports lover does not need to
look at the barely covered body of dancers to get the joy of watching sports or games. For example, a
Page 27 of 28
person who is watching a cricket match is determined to enjoy the game. The cheerleaders can only
misfit like an artificial ingredient. So patently do they defeat the very purpose of sports and games?
However, there are arguments which are totally contradictory in nature. According to some, the sole
purpose of sports is entertainment. So, anything that can enhance enjoyment can be used as
complementary. There is no question of sports losing its charm. According to them, the role of
cheerleaders comes only at the moments of celebration. Their sole intention is to add beauty and
color to the celebration. In total, in my opinion, it can be said that the new trend of cheerleaders is
never a bane. True sports-lovers will always enjoy the presence of cheerleaders who manifold the
joy of important moments through their vibrant costumes and body movements.
43. Should a city try to preserve its old, historic buildings or destroy them and replace
them with modern buildings? Use specific reasons and examples to support your
opinion.
Some people think that old, historic buildings are not needed in any city and they should be destroyed
and replaced with modern ones. However, other people believe that historic buildings must be
preserved in order to know and remember our past. In my opinion, the historical building should be
restored and preserved. First of all, by preserving historical buildings, we pass our history to our
future generations. I think that our children should know their history, learn from it and respect it.
People need to know their traditions and customs, which are priceless and irreplaceable. Our history
is our knowledge and power. In my opinion, we need to preserve and restore historic buildings. By
destroying them, we show our disrespect to our forefathers and their traditions. Secondly, by
preserving historical buildings, a city can attract many travelers. By welcoming tourists, a city can get
many benefits including money, which can be spent on preserving historical buildings as well as on
improving roads and facilities. Also, many tourists mean a lot of new business opportunities. Another
important aspect of this situation is that businessmen will be willing to build new recreational
centers, hotels, movie theatres, and shopping centers to make the city more attractive for travelers.
In addition to those practical benefits, many people will have the opportunity to get jobs. All this is
good for the economy of the city. To sum up, I believe that preserving old, historical buildings can
bring only benefit to a city and humanity.
