In Question no 2(a), the next topic that we have
to deal with is Cultural Programme Review.
A cultural programme comprises events aimed at highlighting the values
AND CULTURE OF A SOCIETY OR A NATION. THESE EVENTS INCLUDE DANCE,
MUSIC, FOLK-SONG AND FOLK-DANCE, SHORT-SKITS, FETE, ETC. A REVIEW OF
SUCH PROGRAMME MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING :
• DATE AND VENUE OF THE PROGRAMME
• INAUGURATION BY A CHIEF GUEST
• ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME
• OTHER IMPORTANT FEATURES
• HIGHLIGHT OF THE PROGRAMME
• CHIEF GUEST'S REACTION AND REACTION OF THE AUDIENCE.

Outline: Date and venue of the programme - the inauguration and guests of honour -
the main events of the programme –presentation of awards to the participants - vote
of thanks by the Principal.
CULTURAL PROGRAMME
The Annual Cultural Programme of St. Augustine’s School, Kalimpong was held in
the school premises in a befitting manner on 28thAugust 2019. Presided over by the
The principal of the school, the event was attended by the local Member of Parliament as
the chief guest, while Bipul Chettri was present as the special guest.
Distinguished guests, guardians and the students of the school also attended the
inaugural function. The events of the day-long programme included music,
recitation, dance, storytelling, extempore speech, chorus and pantomime. Students

The Chief guest distributed prizes among the participants who performed well in the
function. The chief guest also delivered a valuable speech. In his speech he gave
much importance to the need for arranging such a programme. He encouraged the
students for their laudable performance. The programme concluded with a cultural
(Maruni) dance performance. At the end of the program a vote of thanks was
delivered by the Principal.
Everybody enjoyed the cultural function and highly appreciated the organisers.
