The story of Warhammer 40K is set in a distant future, where humanity has
expanded throughout the galaxy and faces countless threats, both from within and from
out. The Empire of Humanity, led by the Immortal Emperor, struggles to maintain the
control over a vast territory while facing internal corruption, heresies, and rebellions. The
Emperor, whose mind and essence are trapped in the Golden Throne, is worshipped as a god.

Xeno races also play a fundamental role in the galactic conflict. The
Eldars, ancient and decadent, are highly evolved psychics who struggle for their
survival in a decaying world. The Orks, a race of raiders and warriors
savages long for battle and destruction. The T'au, relatively young on the scene
galactic, they seek unification under their philosophy of the 'Supreme Good'. The Necrons, an ancient
race of skeletal mechanical warriors, awaken from their slumber to reclaim their dominion.
