Practical Activity:1.1
Apply an Activityisting Heading style from
Paragraph Styles in a document.
Solution:-
Step 1:-Create a new document named
noise.odt and type the tActivityt.
Step 2:-Add a title at the top of the tActivityt:
Noise Pollution
Step 3:-Select the title tActivityt: Noise Pollution
Step 4:-Open the Styles Menu using the Sidebar,
and go to the Headings option.
Step 5:-Double-click on Heading 4 to apply it.
Observe that the heading Noise Pollution now has
the Heading 4 style applied.
Practical Activity:1.2
Apply an Activityisting Page Style on ‘noise.odt’
Solution:-
Step 1:-Open the file noise.odt which was
created in Activity 1.1.
Step 2:-Insert a blank page at the beginning of the
document:
• Go to the Insert menu on the main menu bar.
• Select Page Break.
Step 3:-After inserting the page break:
• The content of the original first page moves to
the second page.
• Place your cursor at the beginning of the new
second page.
Step 4:-
• Open the Style menu from the sidebar.
• Select Page Styles.
Step 5:-
• Double-click on Landscape from the Page
Styles.
• The page orientation of the second page (where
your cursor is placed) will change to Landscape
from Portrait.
Practical Activity:1.3
Using Fill Format in LibreOffice Writer.
Solution:-
Step 1:-Open the file documentation.odt
which has at least 5 pages of Activity.
• Scroll to the second page and observe the
indented sentences.
Step 2:-
• Go to the Style menu from the sidebar.
• Click on the Paragraph category.
• Select List Paragraph from the dropdown list.
Step 3:-
• Activate the Fill Format Mode (usually looks
like a paint roller icon or can be found in the
Styles window toolbar).
• Move the cursor to the desired paragraph(s) in
the document that you want to format.
• Click on each paragraph — this will apply the
List Paragraph style to them.
Step 4:-
• After formatting all intended paragraphs, click
the Fill Format icon again to deactivate it.

Creating a Custom Paragraph Style myStyle
Solution:-
Step 1:
Open the file noise.odt.
Step 2:
Format the paragraph content using:
• Font Face: Arial
• Font Size: 12
• Line Spacing: 1.5
Step 3:
Go to the Style menu in the sidebar and select the
Paragraph style option.
Step 4:
Click the Style Actions button .
Step 5:
Click on "New Style from Selection".
A dialog box will appear.
Step 6:
Type the style name myStyle in the input box and
click OK.
Your new style myStyle will now appear in the
Paragraph Styles dropdown list.

Creating a new style myStyle1 using drag and drop
in LibreOffice Writer
Solution:-
Step 1:-
Open the file noise.odt
Step 2:-
Format the paragraph with:
• Font size: 13
• Line spacing: 1
Step 3:-
On the sidebar, go to the Styles panel.
Click on the Paragraph Styles button.
Step 4:-
• Select the formatted Activity.
• Drag the selected Activity into the Styles panel.
• A dialog box will appear.
Step 5:-
• In the dialog box, type the Style Name:
myStyle1
• Click OK
The new style myStyle1 will now appear in the
Paragraph category.

Working with Images
Practical Activity:2.1
Inserting an Image in noise.odt
Solution:-
Step 1:
Ensure that an image file is available on your
computer’s hard disk. If not, download a suitable
image from the Internet.
Step 2:
Open the file noise.odt, which was created in
Practical Activity 1.2 of Chapter 1.
Step 3:
Place the cursor on the line where you want to
insert the image.
Step 4:
Go to the menu bar, click on the Insert menu.
Step 5:
From the dropdown, click on the Image option.
This will open the Insert Image dialog box.
Step 6:
Browse to the location of the image file on your
computer and select the image.
Step 7:
Click on the Open button. The selected image will
be inserted at the cursor position in the document.
Practical Activity:2.2
Copying an Image Using Clipboard
Solution:-
Step 1:-
Open both the source file typewriter.odt and
the target file documentation.odt.
Step 2:-
In the source document (typewriter.odt),
select the image that you want to copy.
Step 3:-
Move the mouse over the selected image and copy
it using:
• Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + C, or
• Right-click and select the Copy option from the
context menu.
Step 4:-
Switch to the target file documentation.odt.
Step 5:-
Place the cursor at the location where you want to
insert the image. (See Fig. 2.5)
Step 6:
Paste the image using:
• Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + V, or
• Right-click and select the Paste option from the
context menu.
The image will now appear at the desired
position.
Practical Activity:2.3
Inserting and Rotating an Image
Solution:-
Step 1:
Open a new document in LibreOffice Writer.
Step 2:
Click on the Insert menu, then go to Image >>
From File.
Step 3:
Browse and insert an image from your computer
or library
.
Step 4:
Click to select the inserted image, then click on the
Rotate Tool. You will see four handles (dots) appear
at the corners of the image.
Step 5:
Move the mouse to any of the corners — the rotate
symbol will appear, indicating that rotation is
possible.
Step 6:
Click and drag the rotate handle (especially the
one on the top right corner) downward or in the
direction you want to rotate.
Practical Activity:2.4
Cropping an Image in LibreOffice Writer, based on
the images and instructions provided
Solution:-
Step 1:-
Open a new document in LibreOffice Writer.
Step 2:-
Insert an image into the document:
• Go to the Insert menu.
• Choose Image >> From File.
• Select the desired image and insert it into the
document.
Step 3:
Click on the image to select it.
• You will see eight small green squares (handles)
appear around the image.
Step 4:-
Activate the Crop Tool:
• Go to the Image toolbar and click on the Crop
icon.
• The green handles will now change to blue
handles, indicating that the image is ready to
be cropped.
Step 5:-
Crop the image:
• Click and drag any of the blue edges towards
the center to crop the image.
• As you drag, a dotted line will appear showing
the cropping boundary .
• You can drag from any side (top, bottom, left,
right) to crop as needed.
Step 6:-
Finalize the cropping:
• Click anywhere outside the image or press the
Esc key to exit the crop mode.
• The image will now appear cropped as per
your selection.
