1. OBJECT

This norme defines the dimensional requirements of flat products for pressing in the form of wide steel
strips, alloy or non alloy, hot or cold rolled, uncoated or coated, delivered in sheets or coils.

It also includes slit strips delivered in rolls or bars obtained from the above products.

The dimensional requirements for cold rolled strips are defined in norme B53 3077.

2. DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES

2.1 THICKNESS TOLERANCES

The measurement must be taken at any point located :

• at more than 40 mm from the edges,
• from the ends and excluding the welding areas for the coils.
For coated products, the thicknesses and corresponding tolerances only apply to the bare metal substrate.
The coating thickness is added to that specified in the following tables.

2.1.1 COLD ROLLED AND COATED

Steel sheet tolerances for pressing and bending (Extra Mild, Bake hardened, Rephosphorised, Dispersoids and Dua
Phase grades).
Three tolerance categories are defined in relation to tensile strength (Rm) in the longitudinal direction indicated in
the specific cahiers de charges :
• category 1 : products where Rm is less than or equal; to 430 MPa
• category 2 : products where Rm is between 430 and 475 MPa inclusive
• category 3 : products where Rm is greater than 475 MPa.

3.3 FLATNESS

The frequency and length of the undulations as well as blisters must not be detrimental to the use of the sheet.

Cold rolled
In the case of litigation, two measurements are carried out :
a) Length of undulation or blisters
In the case of blisters the smallest of the two dimensions is retained as the undulation length.
b) Undulation deflection :
This deflection must be < 1% of the undulation length with a maximum quoted in the table below.

same size exceeding 20 tonnes.
