Powering ideas, fueling the
future
ABOUT US
The Chemical Engineering department of TSEC, is pleased
to announce its annual symposium, CHEMERGENCE'25,
organized in association with the Student Chapter of IIChE
in TSEC, to provide a platform to nurture and display the
talents of students across the country.
ChEMERGENCE, since its inception in 2006 has grown
leaps and bounds to become one of the biggest student
run festivals in the engineering arena. We are back in this
20th edition with events covering almost every aspect of
Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry,
ChEMERGENCE grows bigger and better every year,
gaining popularity exponentially and hosting participants

ENGINEERING FOR A
BETTER FUTURE
The theme of ‘Engineering for a Better Future’ closely connects
with chemical engineering because this field directly tackles some
of the world’s biggest challenges climate change, clean energy,
safe water, healthcare, and sustainable living. Chemical engineers
design greener processes to cut pollution, develop renewable
fuels and efficient batteries, create affordable medicines and
biomaterials, and even find smarter ways to recycle waste. Their
work blends science with responsibility, ensuring that technology
not only advances but also protects people and the planet. In this
way, chemical engineering is more than just industry it’s about
shaping a healthier, cleaner, and more hopeful future for
everyone.

KEY POINTS
Chemical engineering is all about using science to
make life better and the planet healthier. From
creating cleaner fuels and safer medicines to finding
new ways to recycle plastics and purify water,
chemical engineers work on problems that affect all of
us every day. They’re also helping design materials
that are kinder to the environment, building smarter
factories that waste less energy, and using AI to make
industries safer and more efficient. Most importantly,
their work isn’t just about technology—it’s about
making sure people everywhere have access to clean
air, safe water, affordable energy, and better
healthcare. In many ways, chemical engineering is
quietly shaping a more sustainable and hopeful future
for everyone.
BENEFITS
Chemical engineering makes a real difference in everyday
life and our future. It helps keep our planet cleaner by
cutting down pollution, recycling plastics, and finding eco-
friendly ways to make the things we use. It supports the shift
to cleaner energy—like hydrogen, biofuels, and better
batteries—so we rely less on fossil fuels. In healthcare,
chemical engineers are behind many life-changing
medicines, vaccines, and materials that improve how we
treat diseases. Their work also ensures that people have
access to clean water, safe food, and affordable products,
which are basic needs for a good quality of life. On top of
that, they make industries safer and more efficient, creating
solutions that not only protect people but also boost the
economy. In short, chemical engineering benefits us by
making life healthier, safer, and more sustainable, while
opening the door to a brighter future.

CHEM VATION
“IGNITING THE FUTURE”
Chemovation is where imagination meets engineering, challenging
students to design impactful solutions for real-world issues. Centered
on the theme “Engineering for a Better Tomorrow,” the event provides
a platform to innovate, collaborate, and showcase transformative
ideas.
The excitement begins 24 hours before the event, when problem
statements are revealed. With limited preparation time, teams must
strategize and adapt based on their chosen presentation mode,
ensuring every solution is distinct, creative, and technically sound.
Chemovation values not only problem-solving but also the art of
communication. Whether through a presentation, model, or program,
teams must deliver their vision with clarity and conviction, inspiring
confidence in both feasibility and impact.
On event day, participants present before an expert panel that
evaluates innovation, applicability, communication, and societal value.
The top three teams will be honored for their outstanding
contributions, leaving a mark as changemakers of ChEMERGENCE’25.

3. Problem statements will be released 24 hours before the event
and will be tailored to the chosen presentation mode.
4. On the event day, teams will present their solutions before an expert
panel of judges.
5. Evaluation will be based on four pillars: innovation and creativity,
presentation and communication, applicability, and potential impact.
6. Based on the judges’ scores, the top three teams will be declared
winners and awarded for their contributions.

CHEMFEUD
Where reactions spark faster than answers!
An exhilarating recreation of the famous game show, Family Feud where the
participants are presented with questions correlating principles and
processes in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering with daily life.
Are you focused and fast enough to play the Feud?
Because you are in for a ride!

any correct guesses, then play passes onto the next player of
the team who was first to buzz in, and it continues to alternate
between teams until a correct answer is given.
3.All participants in a team must fill the form and pay the fees
separately.

questions and the team should answer the questions right in a lesser
amount of time.
3.Next, the teams who qualify in the second round will play a chemical
feud Team vs. Team. Both the teams will be shown the questions and the
first team to press the buzzer will get a chance to answer the question. In
this, the team pressing the buzzer first will be able to answer the
questions 3 times (one on one by each team member), if the team fails to
guess any of the options, then the question will pass to the next team.
4. If the team answers at least one correctly then they will get the points
based upon it and a new question will be displayed on the screen so in
