this
course,

asked

be
a
volunteer
in
a
research
study
on
MOOCs.
Your
participation
in
the
research
study
is
completely
voluntary
and
will
not
affect
your
participation
or
your
grades
in
this
course.
Purpose:
The
purpose
of
this
study
is
to
explore
how
Massive
Open
Online
Courses
are
changing
online
education.
The
study
will
not
only
measure
the
effectiveness
and
quality
of
the
Georgia
Tech
MOOC
courses
but
will
also
inform
further
research
into
Massive
Open
Online
Courses.
Exclusion/Inclusion
Criteria:
Participants
in
this
study
must
be
18
years
and
older.
Procedures:
If
you
decide
to
participate
in
this
study,
you
will
be
asked
to
fill
out
a
background
survey
and
a
survey
at
the
end
of
every
week.
All
surveys
will
be
provided
as
links
within
the
course.
The
surveys
will
take
10-15
minutes
to
complete.
You
will
also
be
asked
to
participate
in
discussion
forums.
The
data
collected
will
only
be
used
for
research
purposes.
Risks
or
Discomforts:
The
following
risks
or
discomforts
may
occur
as
a
result
of
your
participation
in
this
study.
There
are
no
identifiable
risks
involved
in
your
participation
in
this
research
study.
The
risks
involved
are
no
greater
than
those
involved
in
daily
activities
such
as
completing
a
survey
or
taking
part
in
a
discussion
forum.
Benefits:
You
are
not
likely
to
benefit
in
any
way
from
joining
this
study.
We
hope
that
the

that

help
us
redesign

course

insight

learning
