The PlusLink expander must be integrated into one or several PlusLink lines if these are protected with at least 2 circuit breakers. If (e.g. in the event of error or for maintenance work) one circuit breaker is triggered off, then the PlusLink expander will disconnect the PlusLink line automatically as well. This is necessary because the PlusLink line would otherwise continue to be live via the other circuit breakers.

Installation
Installation on interior walls opposite the heat source is
preferable. Mounting height: approx. 1.5 m above the floor. External walls and draughts from windows and doors should be avoided. Ensure that the warm air in the room has free access to the controller. Therefore, the controller should not be installed inside shelving units or behind curtains and similar coverings.
A dimmer also generates heat. If a controller is installed with a dimmer in a shared switch frame, the two should be as far apart as possible. If they are arranged one on top of the other, the controller must be below the dimmer.

Thermostat installation
In order for the thermostat to be operated in ambient air or dual mode, the thermostat must be installed in such a way that it is protected as far as possible against external influences and temperature fluctuations. This guarantees reliable detection of the room temperature. The following should therefore be taken into account when considering the installation site: Minimum installation height: 1.5 m above the floor. Do not install too close to windows, doors or ventilation openings.
Starting up
Switching on the thermostat for the first time
As soon as the power supply is connected, the thermostat switches on automatically.
1,5 m
To switch off using the software shutdown, 1 press "+" and "- " simultaneously, 2 hold for 3 seconds, 3 keep pressing when "COdE" is demanded, 4 thermostat shuts down. Thermostat recovers from software switch shutdown by pressing "+" or "-". Note: All the default settings shown when the device is switched on for the first time can be adjusted later on in the settings menu (see "Operating the thermostat").
Do not install above heaters or other heat sources. Do not cover or install behind curtains. Avoid direct sunlight and light from lamps.

Categories
The most important property defining a data network is the speed at which information can circulate inside this network. According to this aspect, installations are classed into the following categories: Category Cat. 3 Cat. 4 Cat. 5e Cat. 6 Cat. 6A Transmission rate Up to 10 MHz Up to 16 MHz Up to 100 MHz Up to 250 MHz Up to 500 MHz Network type Ethernet 10 Base T, Token Ring 4 Mbps Token Ring 16 Mbps Ethernet 1000 Base T, ATM 155 Mbps Ethernet 1000 Base T, ATM 1200 Ethernet full-duplex mode 1000 Base T
So that an installation can be included in a certain category, all the elements making it up must belong to the same category, or, otherwise, it will be classed in the category of the lower category element.

All devices connected to one or more PlusLink lines must be connected to the same phase. The PL carries mains voltage. The PL transfers the commands from the sending devices to the receiving devices. Individual addressing of the devices in the PL line is not possible. All devices are always activated at the same time. A maximum of 10 sending and 10 receiving devices can be connected to a PL line. The PL is not subject to prioritisation. Each new command overwrites the previous one. No separate software is required for using the PL.
Connections
In one PL line, use either devices for light control or only devices for blind control.

Programming
Introduction
The wireless system is used for wireless control of lamps and other electrical equipement. The system consist of emitters, receivers and combined modules containing both emitters and receivers. The wireless products can be programmed and thus linked with 2 different programming modes:
Simple link programming. Scenario link programming. Each time you program a function between an emitter and a receiver you create a link. Wireless products can contain up to 32 links, except the combined modules which can contain up to 64 links.
Simple link
Simple links are used to link wireless products for simple functions such as on / off, dim (for receivers with the dimmer function), open / close (for roller blinds). One or more emitters can be linked to one or more receivers. A Simple link is always using the 2 poles of a key : top: to switch-on / dim-up / open; bottom: to switch-off / dim-down / close. Dim up / Switch on Dim down / switch off
Scenario link
Scenario links are used to get predefined lighting atmospheres with just one press of a key. They are particularly useful when the receivers are dimmers. With a Scenario link, each pole is independant and activates its scenario. A Turn off all function should be programmed into all Scenario link. Im home Dinner

Simple link example 1
B C
In this example, the battery-powered push-button A controls: with the left key, the lamp connected to the mobile socket-outlet B, with the right key, the ceiling lamp in the kitchen connected to the combined dimmer C.
B1 V3
The 3 combined modules for roller blinds V1, V2, V3, (receivers) are installed in place of the existing controls. The battery powered push button B1 (emitter) is used for the centralisation command; it can be fixed onto the wall anywhere. B1 is associated to V1, V2, V3 by a Simple link.

D C
In this example, the battery-powered push-button A contains the favourite lighting scenarios. When the family wants to prepare food, pressing the food preparation Scenario symbol will cause: - the lamp connected to B to be turned off, - the ceiling lamp above the dining table connected to D to be adjusted to 60%, - the ceiling lamp in the kitchen connected to C to be set to 100%. In the same way, pressing the eating Scenario symbol activates a different light combination involving B, C and D. Finally, pressing the Im home symbol will cause all lamps to be switched-on at full strength; the Im leaving symbol switches everything off.
