OPERATION
The AAN-100 communicates with APOLLO intelligent mag stripe readers, and with Wiegand, proximity and
other card reader technologies through the AIM-4 and API interface modules. The AAN-100 also communicates
with various APOLLO alarm panels and status panels. All access decisions are made in the AAN-100 using an
advanced technology 32-bit processor. The AAN-100 can interface directly to existing networks, thus saving
cost and time of installation.
The AAN-100 controller comes with 1 MB RAM as standard. You can expand the RAM using AME-10 or
AME-20 plug-in RAM modules. The AAN-100 requires 1 to 4 device driver modules (ASM-23 or ASM-48)
depending upon how many lines are to be used to communicate with the card reader, alarm modules or status
panels. In the network configuration the AAN-100 requires either a single or dual Ethernet module ANI-1
(single or dual networks). For non-network configuration, the dual port high-speed serial interface module
(ASI-1) will be required. If the dual port high-speed interface is selected then you must add a single or dual RS232 or RS-485 driver module (ASM-23 or ASM-48) for communications to the host.
