NDEP is a publicly owned integrated independent oil and gas
focused investment company, with arrange of assets. It is Nigeria’s

on March 25, 1992 (as the Midas Drilling Fluid).
SERVICES PROVIDED

• Exploration and Production

• Midstream Activities
• Downstream Activities
• Gas and Power
WORK DONE
• At NDPR I was assigned to the Geological and Geophysical Department.
• The G&G department activities are meant to locate and identify properties
with the potential to produce commercial quantities of oil and natural gas
• The Geological and geophysical (G&G) department use seismic
reflection, seismic refraction, magnetic, gravity, gas sniffers, coring, or
other systems to detect or imply the presence of oil, or gas in commercial
quantities.
KNOWLEDGE GAINED
1. I learnt about the Petroleum Sector Value Chain
2. I learned about the E&P sector
3. I learnt about typical schedule for an E&P project
4. I saw firsthand work on seismic interpretations with PETREL
CONTRIBUTIONS MADE
• I pitched in an idea during a meeting on the changing of the NDPR logo and
name
• I completed all tasks given to me swiftly and efficiently
CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED

1. NDPR was understaffed and so, the workload of the staff are
large which made sure they barely had time for the interns.
2. There was no Practical work implemented in my industrial
training.
3. I had issues separating formal and informal speech and
nomenclature as I had not fully been in a professional work
environment before. I had to learn on the job.
4. The internship duration was limited which was not beneficiary
for learning.
CONCLUSION

During my industrial training, I was able to learn a lot though,

there was no relation between what I learned and what I was
taught in school I was able to learn a lot of new things.
The training period has influenced my thought patterns,
perception of the world outside of school.
RECOMMENDATION

• The university’s department in charge of industrial

training should endeavor to acquaint themselves with
various companies to make placements easier for their
students.
