Job Description
As an Embedded Systems Engineer at Blue Star, your role involves designing, developing, and validating embedded control systems for air conditioning products. You will focus on developing firmware and integrating hardware components to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and product quality. Your responsibilities include: - Designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware for air conditioner control systems, both indoor and outdoor units. - Implementing and optimizing control algorithms for expansion valve operations. - Integrating firmware with hardware components such as sensors, motors, and inverter drives. - Collaborating with hardware and mechanical teams for PCB bring-up and system validation. - Performing functional, performance, and endurance testing of control boards. - Identifying and resolving software/hardware integration issues during prototype and validation phases. - Supporting EMI/EMC testing and implementing required firmware countermeasures. - Fine-tuning control parameters to achieve better system efficiency, performance, and reliability. - Preparing and maintaining design documents, test plans, release notes, and change logs. - Ensuring all development activities comply with company coding standards and quality processes. - Working closely with testing, hardware, and production teams during development and validation. Qualifications required for this role include: - B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of experience. - Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming for real-time applications. - Strong hands-on experience with 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers from manufacturers such as Renesas, NXP, STMicroelectronics, Microchip, etc. - Expertise in communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, Modbus, and CAN. - Experience with ADC/DAC, PWM, timers, interrupts, and watchdog configuration. - Proficiency with debugging tools like oscilloscope, logic analyzer, emulator, JTAG. - Familiarity with firmware version control tools (Git, SVN) and build environments like Keil, IAR, MPLAB, etc. - Exposure to IoT and connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, BLE, and cloud-based monitoring is preferred. - Understanding of PCB schematics, circuit behavior, and basic electronic components. - Knowledge of the firmware development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and validation. - Experience with firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates, power management, and secure bootloaders is an advantage. - Strong problem-solving ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions during testing and validation. - Ability to take full ownership of assigned modules or features and ensure timely completion with quality. - Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (hardware, mechanical, testing, and production) to achieve common project goals. - Quick response to design changes, testing feedback, or new technical challenges. - Keeping updated with emerging technologies in embedded systems, HVAC control, and IoT integration.
