Key Responsibilities: - Act as the process owner for Calibration during internal and external audits, resolving any non-conformities that may arise. - Ensure that the calibration requirements of IATF16949 are met. - Collaborate with the Laboratory facilitator to plan and coordinate calibration using the database, while ensuring that all records are maintained and easily accessible. - Conduct Calibration supplier audits when necessary. - Coordinate the retrieval and delivery of gauges to and from gauge owners in conjunction with the Laboratory facilitator. - Perform the calibration of all shop floor screwdrivers where possible, liaising with manufacturing to secure appropriate time on the equipment. - Undertake mechanical or electrical calibration on internal gauges with UKAS or ISO17025 accredited equipment. - Work with the laboratory facilitator to ensure all equipment on the database is calibrated to respective national standards UKAS or ISO17025 and customer requirements as appropriate. - Write and maintain procedures for calibration for internal calibration. - Manage disposition, which involves working with gauge owners to take necessary actions where gauges are either un-calibrated or failed calibration as per company procedures. - Support the test and metrology department with measurement demands. - Conduct regular gauge and product measurements. - Comply with the Health and Safety policy, observe all safety rules, and ensure your personal safety and the safety of others. - Review calibration specifications for equipment with respect to product and process requirements. - Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications as per calibration procedure. - Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Senior Metrology Engineer or Laboratory Manager. Qualifications Required: - Computer competent, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). - Strong understanding of Engineering principles, including Metrology and measurement techniques. - Previous experience in instrumentation calibrations to ISO standard. - Previous experience of working with PCDMIS or scanning software (desirable). - Previous experience of working within the Automotive sector (desirable). - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including geometric tolerances. - Knowledge of gauge calibration and basic product testing. - Hands-on calibration skills alongside the ability to work with Production to ensure equipment is accurate. - Basic mechanical skills (experience in the use of measuring instruments, meters, and hand tools). - Ability to work without supervision. - Good attention to detail. - A flexible approach to working outside of normal shift hours as required.
