Pyukumuku (ナマコブシ Namakobushi) is a creature from the Pokémon series.
Origin[edit]
Pyukumuku is a Water-type Pokémon that debuted in Generation VII, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #771 as the "Sea Cucumber Pokémon". While it doesn't learn a single offensive move, it learns many status and counter moves, including Counter. Whenever Pyukumuku uses a move in the games, it uses its hand-like organ to attack.
Its ability to be picked up and thrown at opponents in Smash references a part-time job in Alola's Hano Beach, which involves throwing Pyukumuku back to the ocean due to their tendency to stay in a favored spot, even if it means starving, making them unpopular among tourists.
Innards Out is Pyukumuku's Ability, which deals damage to an opponent that knocks out Pyukumuku equal to the amount of HP Pyukumuku had left. Unlike its original depiction, Pyukumuku in Smash doesn't need to be knocked out for its ability to activate.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Pyukumuku makes its debut as a Poké Ball summon. When a fighter (summoner or opponent) draws close, it will attack with its hand-like organ, dealing 8% to the summoner's opponents. It has a 45 frame cooldown after using this attack. The summoner can also jump on its back to make it attack, causing it to deal 18% instead. If placed near a ledge, it will swing further downwards. The player who summoned Pyukumuku can pick it up and throw it like a regular item, and it will shoot out its "hand" for 18% when thrown at opponents; it cannot be reflected, and will not respawn if it's thrown off-screen. It also has a 6% hitbox on its body while thrown. The summoner can't jump on Pyukumuku if they are helpless or using an attack. Holding jump or tilting the control stick upwards upon landing on Pyukumuku will have them bounce higher. After 1200 frames it waves "goodbye" and leaves.
Pyukumuku has a spawn chance of 40/1463. It cannot be summoned on the following stages in a standard versus match (applies only to the base form unless noted otherwise):
Spirit[edit]
Pyukumuku also appears as a Novice-class support spirit.
Pyukumuku's Spirit Battle uses four purple Tiny Kirby puppet fighters and is fought on the Frisbee Dog Park area of Wuhu Island. One Kirby starts with a Poké Ball containing Pyukumuku.

- If Pyukumuku is thrown into a blast zone, it will still wave "goodbye" before disappearing instead of instantly disappearing like most items or Pokémon.
