Torchic (アチャモ, Achamo) is a creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
Origin[edit]
Torchic is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III, and along with Treecko and Mudkip it is one of the starter Pokémon of the Hoenn region, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #255 as the "Chick Pokémon". It evolves into Combusken at level 16, which evolves into Blaziken at level 36.
Fire Spin is a special Fire-type move with 15 base power and 70% accuracy (before it was increased to 35 power and 85% accuracy in Generation V) which traps an opponent for 2-5 turns. Torchic can learn it at level 25 in every game prior to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire decreasing the level to 19.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
As a Poké Ball Pokémon[edit]
Torchic is introduced in Brawl as one of many Pokémon that can be summoned using the Poké Ball item. When summoned, Torchic hops up and down using Fire Spin. This attack will trap opponents in the attack radius until the attack ends. The final hit deals surprisingly high knockback, and the attack inflicts high damage overall. It is similar to the attacks of Koffing from Super Smash Bros. and Weezing from Super Smash Bros. Melee, because Torchic surrounds itself with its element.
If more than one Torchic is active, the game will increase in lag.
Torchic has a spawn chance of 30/586.
Trophy[edit]
- Torchic
- A Chick Pokémon. It's a Fire-type that has a flame sac in its belly where it produces fireballs reaching 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit--it shoots these out of its mouth. While Torchic is as cute as can be, it will evolve into the powerful Combusken when it levels up. It also then becomes a combination Fire-and-Fighting type.
