Critters Attack! Reviews

Oct 5, 2024

It is literally the worst one, the others had charm even if they were dumb, this somehow went beyond the "so dumb its good" zone. the critters barely move in this one, its literally just critter dolls they shoot from behind and shake a little. Also the female critter being the good one was a dumb plot point, especially since we have seen a female critter before who was just as evil and wasnt sexually dimorphic.

That was a dumb movie! The original 2 had a plot line. A story leading up to the critters main attacks. The only reason why I watched it was Dee Wallace was back. I’m so disappointed with myself for watching it.

Critters Attack! is more enjoyable than Critters 4, and is fun and interesting to see the Critters in the 21st century. Not a masterpiece.

Might as well be called "My Child's First Horror Film". It can be summed up as a pre-teen comedy that tries awkwardly to be a horror film. With not much in the way of horror, jokes that might garner a giggle or two from a 7-year-old, and plot points that occur arbitrarily and without reason or explanation, it's a film to keep in the background while you occupy your time with something more useful or mundane --- like folding laundry or using the facilities.

This movie is an insult to the original movies and fans of the original movies.

While being not the worst movie in the Critters franchise it's way better than the fan outrage it has gotten

To enjoy this movie, you need to come in with low expectations. Really low but if you can, it's not too bad to watch, but if you can't then not so much. Surprisingly I found the Critters: A New Binge to be far more humorous to watch and that had a much lower budget. I would recommend watching that one just for the alien dialog which made me laugh more then the streaming series itself. It is pretty much a short movie broken into 8 parts around 10 minutes each. It's basically a Degrassi Junior High episode with a lot of rolling fur balls that eat everything in their path and have the best dialog in the show. However going back to this movie, it seems to take itself too seriously. It's weird, a white alcoholic cop father of I believe a tween pure Bl*ck* son and a teenage pure East Indian daughter? Yeah sorry I can't tell if she's bl*ck or east Indian, she looks to fall in between both races. I suffer from race confusion in this instance. It doesn't really explain in the movie but did he adopt around the world or did none of his genetic make up pass on due to being inferior genes to the other party's dominate genes? Hmm...anyhow. The humor or really lack of successful execution of the movie's humor is cringe worthy. This is what happens when you don't have a budget and spend the littlest amount of money on a script which will be the foundation of your movie later on. I watched this with what little nostalgia good will I have left for this franchise. It was depleted really fast...hope you have more then I did as it ran on empty by the time the movie ended.

In 1986 (36 years ago) The original film "Critters" was released, Back then we didn't have the Computer generated special effects blockbusters we do today. This film sticks to the original style with mostly practical effects so if you are looking for a big budget blockbuster film look elsewhere, if you're looking for a film that stays true to the original series in the original films style you're in for a treat. I'm glad they didn't sell out and go "big budget" It reminded me of a time when films weren't mostly done in a computer.

E a ideia do discurso politico feminista é realmente chato. As piadas são ruins e nem mesmo levam em consideração os filmes anteriores. É triste ver o caminho que esse clássico dos anos 80 virou algo tão bobo

This film is so bad I rougher remove my ass piles then watch it again, It also made my friend have a aneurysm. I love the old one's but this 2019 shit🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 don't get me started on why Denzel Washington daughter want to end her acting career in the matter of seconds. I rougher watch critters set in space, oh wait they did make that one.

If you like critters and want more, here it is. Even though she is named Aunt Dee, its still Bradley Browns mom from the first movie. No talk of Grovers Bend, Ugg, Lee or previous stuff that happened in the past movies. There is ONE bounty hunter so thats not bad. I would have liked to see after credits stuff like they normally did in the past critters movies. It was a fun watch and just like Tremors, keep making more and I will watch them. The ending, happened really quick though!

I loved the Gore but I felt that it could have been more. But if you enjoy the occasional B horror movie, then this is up your alley

Finally, after 4 bad sequels and a tv series on shudder those meat-eating little fur balls are back! It's been 33 years since the original 'Critters' graced the screens right when the little monster craze was booming in the 80s Thanks to 'Gremlins' there have been countless knockoffs; some okay others just didn't make the cut The first two films were the only ones connected to one another with the Brown family first encountering the little hairballs after landing on Earth and were being chased by bounty hunters Brad, his sister, and his parents seemed defenseless but the help of two bounty hunters gave them an advantage When Brad was the only one to return for the sequel the creatures had secretly laid eggs in a barn He had to get the whole town to work together to solve the issue and his buddy Charlie finally got to be somebody Several installments later the tiny monsters are back on Earth for a new generation The lead here is Tashiana Washington as Drea, she's a food delivery girl but also part time babysitter Her mom used to go to the local college but dropped out after she had Drea then passed away later Drea wants to apply to this same school but she has had no luck Not only that but original actress Dee Wallace Stone has returned too! Recently she's been monitoring any suspicious alien activity in case of another invasion and when these things do wreak havoc on a small town after Drea takes some kids for a babysitting trip she swoops in to get rid of the infestation This movie actually does a good job wiping the slate clean making sure those previous entries never happened The Critters are bigger, faster but also have a new trait here with their prey after being devoured actually serves as incubators for their offspring and they can't stand high pitch frequencies The biggest addition here is a white critter that's actually not evil like the others so maybe Drea and the kids have a chance The white critter is quite cute even if it is ringing of Gremlins I also love how the film revels in the 1980s era with the synthesizer music to even referencing one or two things from previous films The teen actors are just funny watching them react to this situation The biggest problem might be some side plots that go virtually nowhere and it ends so abruptly it's kinda chuckle worthy This ain't a sentimental film so that might fail for a lot of viewers I appreciate the higher level of violence from the creatures themselves It's a relief to see Dee Wallace Stone even if she isn't the focal point I'm happy to say that this new installment in the franchise erases all the terrible missteps that plagued the other films and gets back to being fun

Creatures attack doesn’t have the charm of the originals. Those going in hoping for gorefest will be sorely disappointed. There’s a few scenes but mostly everything‘s done off camera or not shown and the movie is it scary at all. The acting is awful and the pacing needs work. The movie intentionally tries to be bad and it just doesn’t work. It’s best when we tried to be good and ends up being bad.

There is a fine line between fun camp and complete cheese. This film spend no time being fun camp. A gory far worse, cheaper made Gremlins.
