The Woman in Cabin 10 Reviews

Nov 9, 2025

Good plot, nice twist. Pacey.

This was a competently-made thriller, but the big twist wasn't all that original. Worth a watch.

Terrible writing with endless plot holes. The writer and the director either thought the audience was stupid or they themselves were stupid. This could have been an interesting story if they had just hired anyone competent….. complete waste of a movie. It is actually impressive that they could make something so bad and nobody objected to the plot holes and terrible writing… nobody stood up and said “wait one second…. This movie sucks! We can’t put this out!”

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Like who even wrote the script…babe you had 1 job and it was easy AF to follow. The script, the plot, the acting all sucked. Super sad given the book was 11/10 - don’t even bother….yes the movie really brought shame to an amazing book. But even not reading the book it’s 2/10 for a movie

Not sure what’s with the bad reviews, but it’s a great watch. Great acting, slick plot, fast, thrilling and quite the perfect photo finish. Loved it!

I have seen thousands of films in my (long) lifetime but this is the worst movie I have ever seen. It has a terrible (ie totally implausible) plot, excruciatingly bad acting from beginning to end and much more (as in much worse). The one relief is that this is not a long film so the end arrived fairly quickly. Truly dreadful, painful to watch. embarrassingly bad.

Decent concept for a story and well filmed but very poor in terms of acting and the the execution of the story. Couldn't wait for it to end.

Started watching the film, didn't quite get into it right away. Then my husband told me - you have to watch this movie, it's so good. What a ride! Love how the one person who knew the truth was gaslighted by everyone else, and the plot's twists and turns. Acting is superb, including the supporting actors and even the crowd. Watched it twice in a row, very worth while.

hahahaha, I managed to sit through 15 minutes of this garb, if I'd been on that yacht I'd have jumped ship as well,

I enjoyed the film. I don't understand all the bad reviews from critics. The acting, setting, and overall creepy ambiance and suspense were all good. It was true to the book, which I also liked. I think reviewers may harbor a certain resentment to the obvious copying of the vibe and idea of The Girl on the Train, which I agree was better, but that doesn't mean this one is bad.

Dreadful. What possessed this normally pretty good cast to sign up? It’s implausible, shallow, clichéd and trite. The script is dire, as is the characterisation. And why, if you’re going to stage it on a flashy yacht, would you film it in grey northern seas with constantly cloudy skies. A total waste of time.

Good film, i don't get it why people are all moaning

Poor acting. Poor writing. Characters don't feel real.

I liked this movie and think it should be rated higher! It kept my interest for the entire time and while I was expecting it to be an obvious storyline , it had a few twists. Worth watching.

One of the worst movies I’ve seen. So boring and plot was terrible. Had some great actors—too bad.

An adaptation that exposes how derivative the mystery is from familiar cases to showing that the author didn’t see “The Lady Vanishes”, but the unfolding routine engages then surprises nonetheless and further distinguished by Knightley tensely performing her cringey victimization that’s formulaically vital, enough to guarantee a satisfying watch. Well worth watching, very engaging.

BEWARE, SPOILERS: The premisse of the movie is great: an exchange of persons on a yacht - one disposed of, one to take her place - to give a greedy husband what he wants, full control of his wive's empire. Yet, something was amiss. While I see critics cutting down the movie while hailing Keira Knightley, I found her unconvincing from the start. Too much uncertainty, too much displayed nervosity, too much bared teeth (nerves masquerading as a smile) for the 'toplevel investigative journalist' that she's supposed to be. Besides that, since her first starring role in 'Pirates' where she looked great and healthy, Knightley looks very frail, skin over bone deadhead (sorry Keira) in all films that have starred her afterwards, beginning with the (overall a bit disappointing save for a good run of Kevin Costner) Jack Ryan, Shadow Recruit in 2014 Pity, because the narrative is watcheable although irrealistic (such as assembling lawyers and a notary in a wood cabin in a remote Norwegian Fjord for the signing of a will ?).....

Too obvious, too unbelievable in actions taken or not taken. Keira is unscathed after holding her breathe and screaming all her air out when trapped in the pool. The end with the knife and no one at all follows him out the door?! Keira suddenly does karate on the boat. The security lady power walks all the way to a shed where there's a rifle. She swims with a note in her pocket and it's completely in tact at the end?! It's idiotic and for anyone with a brain there's too many holes and no real twists.

This is a decent movie. A little of Agatha Christie, but not that sophisticated.
