Humble Bundle - Lankhmar (DCC RPG)

Apparently, Goodman's license for the Lankhmar setting is coming to an end, and it's a huge bargain for any who didn't back the Kickstarter years ago. I need to note, this is the ONLY time I can recall suggesting that anyone get the PHYSICAL offering in a Humble Bundle - usually, they are some nearly random "odd or end". NOT this time. This time, the physical offering is the actual Lankhmar Boxed Set, a Hardcover adventure compilation, and the final printed module in the series.

The Lankhmar DCC RPG Bundle is $40 with the printed collection, and $12 for just the PDFs. Perfect for any Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser fans out there.

DCC RPG Bundle - Over a Dozen Goodman Games DCC RPG Titles for less than 10 Bucks

I find it interesting to observe where different publishers are sharing their bundles. Fanatical has become an interesting third-party bundler.

There are three buy-ins for the Goodman Games Tabletop Horror Collection. Aside from the Dungeon, Monster, and Cthulhu Alphabet books (worth the price of admission itself), the value here is the DCC RPG Modules (and maybe the DCC D20 adventures). As always, expect a few filler titles, as shown in the following screenshots. My advice? Grab three titles for a buck (two are keepers) or go all in for 9.99

Kickstarter - Witch-Lords of Skull Mountain #2: Malkova Wilds (OSR - Various Flavors)

I think I've known Paul Wolf since my first NTRPG Con in 2014. My, how time flies!

In any case, Witch-Lords of Skull Mountain #2: Malkova Wilds is a hexcrawl zine that comes in various OSR flavors: OSE, ShadowDark, DCC,  & OSRIC. With that many choices, finding a system that comes closest to your actual game at your table is a breeze.

Witch-Lords of Skull Mountain #2: Malkova Wilds is $9 in PDF and $14 in Print, plus PDF (shipping for me was $ 3, and yes, you can add issue #1 when checking out).

Witch-Lords of Skull Mountain #2: The Malkova Wilds is a continuing hex-crawl campaign simultaneously published for the Shadowdark RPG, DCC RPG, Old School Essentials / Basic-Expert RPGs, and OSRIC 3 RPG.

It's a planned 40 to 56-page book packed with adventures, a city crawl system, encounter tables, monsters, magic items and more. It will (hopefully) include a detached color cover that features a beautiful full-color hex map of the Malkova Wilds!

Kickstarter - The Cult of the Winged Skull (DCC & ShadowDark Adventure)

A Tabletop Roleplaying Adventure in the New Setting of Wythmail for DCC and Shadowdark

Let me get this out of the way: Matt De Micco, the main man behind The Cult of the Winged Skull, is an acquaintance of mine. We've shared beers at NTRPG, shared "war stories" of our prior professions, and talked shop—the publishing side of RPGs. I like his vision, as it is truly "old-school" in nature.

So, what is The Cult of the Winged Skull

It's part setting (Wythmail) and part connected adventures. It comes in two flavors: DCC RPG (which honestly can use a setting) and ShadowDark, effectively hitting the fanbases of two of the most popular old-school alternatives to WotC's D&D.

Wythmail is an all-new campaign setting designed for use with the DCC and Shadowdark rules. The Cult of the Winged Skull is an adventure in this setting and provides an introduction to Wythmail, its peoples, places, and pantheons. Future endeavors will further develop the setting, but this adventure provides more than enough detail for hours of play.

Now, I have to admit, I'm a sucker for setting material, even if I would (likely) never use such material "as is."

The world of Wyhmail struggles with an imposed fragile peace. Decades of war have settled over the realm like an uninvited shadow, devastating the land, destroying the continent, and stripping its resources dry.

I'm also a fan of "dark fantasy," For good to have any value, there must be evil in the world.

The pricing of The Cult of the Winged Skull is undoubtedly affordable. PDF for 1 system for 15, both systems for 20. Getting it in HC POD requires 30 plus printing and shipping, but it does include both PDFs. I'm in for 30 :)

Humble Bundle - MegaDungeon Bundle from Goodman Games

While it says, MegaDungeon Bundle for 5e & DCC RPG on the tin, some other gems (and refuse) are thrown into the mix.

There are some 3x-era gems (Castle WhiteRock!) and some 4e clunkers. Oh, and some Castles and Crusades releases. Oh, and Dark Tower!

The DCC RPG stuff is top-notch. I own much of it, so speaking from experience.

Bundle of Holding - FIFTY Dungeons (Goodman Games 3e Era)

If you are an OSR gamer, Pathfinder, or even 5e GM, there are bucketloads of goodness in FIFTY Dungeons Goodman Games BundleThese are from the era when DCC, AKA Dungeon Crawl Classics, was a line of incredible adventures and NOT the name of an RPG.

I own much of what's included in this bundle in print and/or PDF, and it ranges from Good to GEMS! The Adventure Begins & The Adventure Continues are two of my favorite adventure compendium ever. You can't go wrong with either bundle, IMHO.

We've resurrected our May 2022 Fifty-Dungeon Megabundle with nearly five dozen tabletop fantasy roleplaying adventures in the original d20 System Dungeon Crawl Classics line from Goodman Games. From 2003 to 2007 Dungeon Crawl Classics captured the Old School Revival spirit in dozens of scenarios published for Dungeons & Dragons 3.x and its successors under the Open Game License. (In 2012, Goodman published a free-standing DCC RPG, which has a separate product line that is not part of this offer.)

This revived May 2022 offer once again presents a ton of .PDF ebooks of DCC scenarios from the entire d20 System line, arranged to ramp smoothly from 1st to 21st level. Each adventure stands alone, is world-neutral, and works great with D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, and their descendants. Written by popular designers like Monte Cook (Numenera, Ptolus) and Robert J. Schwalb (Shadow of the Demon Lord), these DCC adventures are 100% dungeon crawls, with bloody combat, intriguing mazes, and no NPCs who aren't meant to be killed. The monsters you fear, the traps you dread, and the secret doors you know must be there somewhere – they're all here, all of them, plus the Castle Whiterock campaign, the Gazeteer of the Known Realms setting books, and play aids – an incredible US$572.50 retail value for a spectacular bargain price.

For just US$19.95 you get all twenty-nine titles in this revived offer's Low-Level Collection (retail value $254.50) as DRM-free ebooks, including – wow, let's see – the two 20-adventure compilations The Adventure Begins and The Adventure Continues, plus ten scenarios for 1st-level player characters, thirteen adventures for levels 3-6, and four play aids (Dungeon Geomorphs, Interludes, the DM Screen, and Treasure Maps). These alone can occupy the busiest group of players for years.

And if you pay more than the threshold price of $40.34, you'll level up and also get this revival's entire High-Level Collection with twenty-nine more titles worth an additional $318, including the six-scenario Saga of the Dragon Cult, eight adventures for levels 7-9, eleven high-level epics for levels 10 through 21, the Gazetteer of the Known Realms setting, and the complete 700-page Castle Whiterock campaign supplement.

Deal of the Day - Elfland: Beyond the Fields We Know - DCC RPG

While the DCC RPG and its various offspring games work best as convention games, many groups play DCC as a campaign game. For the latter, let us present Elfland: Beyond the Fields We Know for the DCC RPG

Normally 6.99, Elfland: Beyond the Fields We Know is on sale until tomorrow morning for 2.10

Elfland: Beyond the Fields We Know is a zine that provides everything that is needed to bring your game to Elfland! It has 6 adventure locales that can be used for one-shots, over a dozen fey traps, priceless relics, new monsters, and more! It's also written in a way where the reader can use it as a solo-journaling game. That way you can create a unique NPC for your campaign, or simply have some fun on your own!

Backerkit - Netcrawl (Cyberpunk RPG)

I remember my first experience with the cyberpunk genre, reading Gibson's Neuromancer. It wasn't what I expected—actually, I'm not sure what I expected—but I was excited. Then I saw that GURPS had a Cyberpunk sourcebook and an RPG titled Cyberpunk 2020, and I had to grab both. I never ran them, but I must have read that sourcebook a dozen times and the RPG at least that many times.

Seeing that Netcrawl was funding on Backerkit brought back memories of my initial exposure to Cyberpunk. It looks like it is time for Cyberpunk again inn the Tenkar household ;)

Did I mention that Netcrawl is compatible with the DCC and MCC RPGs? Wait that means it's also compatible with Weird Frontiers. The mashups are endless and come to mind...

Netcrawl RPG is a TTRPG about adventuring inside a computer system. Everyone goes in, seconds pass in the meatspace as players spend hours conquering a cyber-dungeon - together.

Netcrawl RPG uses the d20 System and Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG rulebook that can run as a cyber sidecar to your current game or as a stand alone game with little or no notion of an outside meatspace world.

Inspiration for Netcrawl RPG is drawn from William Gibson's seminal cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer, among many other works of science fiction and cyberpunk.

Kickstarter - Pirates of the Goblin River (DCC RPG)

Legends of Lohre folklore-based roleplay for DCC delivers its most action-packed adventure module yet with Pirates of the Goblin River.

I'm a huge fan of DCC RPG adventures, from Goodman Games and third parties, even more so than the system itself. Legends of Lohre is a DCC RPG adventure, 5 bucks in PDF and 12 bucks in print plus PDF, and the adventure path would work well for a more traditional OSR-style system.

What are you backing? An independent DCC-compatible adventure module featuring tons of art from Stefan Poag, William McAusland, Alexander Moore and Brett Hess, inspired by Beowulf, The Odyssey, Treasure Island, and the tradition of nautical adventure stories. It's the third module in a five-part adventure path that emphasizes roleplay and character development, A Tale of Two Sisters. The adventure path tells the tale of villagers rising to become folk heroes, a saga PCs are at the center of, with NPCs and the setting evolving around them.

Kickstarter - Massacre Grounds (Weird Frontiers/DCC)

As always, full disclosure. I met Matt (the project creator) this past June at NTRPG Con. Aside from both of us being retired LEOs, we obviously shared our passion for RPGs. Matt talked about his upcoming adventure for Weird Frontiers (Massacre Grounds) and it sounded like a blast. So, here we are :)

Matt's Kickstarter is Massacred Grounds for Weird Frontiers (for those that don't know, Weird Frontiers is a Weird West Genre RPG power by the DCC RPG engine). Massacre Grounds is a funnel (God, I love DCC funnels way more than I should) for about a dozen zero-level PCs, so essentially 3 to 6 players if you do the math ;)

The Pitch: The story is a combination of local Arizona history and campfire stories from my own life experiences. In the cowboy way, I have added my own tall tales and a healthy amount of new content for the Weird Frontiers Core Rulebook. Players will interact with NPCs that are some of the colorful characters from my life and characters that are based on the history surrounding the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. PCs will also visit historical locations that surround the mountains.

In the new class, PCs will ride bears, mountain lions, or wolves. Each animal has its own characteristics. The chapáya rider class is compatible with other Weird Frontiers adventures. It can easily be converted for use with DCC (Dungeon Crawl Classics) and MCC (Mutant Crawl Classics) adventures.

The new monsters are based on the effect the Seven Days of Night had on the Arizona Territory. Cholla cactuses are dangerous in the Arizona Desert, but the new rattlesnake cholla is flat out deadly. I added a lot of normal critters that are found locally. Since you are playing Weird Frontiers, I added the un-dead versions of many animals as well.

PDFs for Massacre Grounds are 10 bucks, PDF + Print is 15 (plus 4 for the POPD on the DTRPG side) and 50 bucks gets you all the above and an online game with the author. Limited slots for the last, so if it interests you, don't wait too long!

Kickstarter - Last Stop, Perdition! (Weird Frontiers/DCC)

An exciting new adventure for the Weird Frontiers RPG, also compatible with the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG.

I'm a huge fan of David Baitey's Weird Frontiers DCC RPG-powered weird west game/tome. I believe the book is even larger than the DCC RPG rulebook, but David nailed it. I got to play in a Weird Frontiers scenario at Shire Con and Rach and I, and the rest of the table, had a blast. I just have no inkling as to how to WRITE a Weird Frontiers adventure.

With Last Stop, Perdition! I'll have a 50-ish page 1st-level adventure to run for my regular gaming group. Win-win if you ask me.

This Kickstarter goes to fund a PDF and POD (print on demand) run of the module Last Stop, Perdition!, written by Steve Bean. This will be a 50 page level 1 adventure for Weird Frontiers and is compatible with DCC and includes a new character class, fantastic interior art by Marcin S, Christopher Torres, and Zohn D, cartography by Davin Kluttz, and a cover by Steve Kane. When we make the base level of funding ($8k) a PDF and POD version of the module will be available as well as a few levels that offer original art. PDFs and PODs will be delivered through Drivethru RPG, and with the PODS, the backers will need to pay the print cost of the book (about $3 at the time of this going live) as well as shipping. If we make the $10K threshold, everyone that backs at the Hero of the Weird West level (the Print and PDF level) and above will receive a traditionally printed module instead of a POD. At this level, shipping will be charged through Pledgemanager, but there will be no additional charge for the printing of the book. If we meet our last stretchgoal of $12K, a second full module will be included in both the PDF and print versions! This second module is called Mountain Devils of Muddy Creek and was written by Lee Neilson.

Humble Bundle - DCC & MCC Megabundle #2

Some of the most imaginative adventures in the OSR, and perhaps in RPGs at large, are written for the DCC & MCC RPGs IMHO. Maybe it's the default wackiness of the system, but I've run DCC RPG adventures with Swords & Wizardry rules, and the results were awesome.

The DCC & MCC RPGs hit Humble Bundle earlier today. For as little as a buck, you can get the DCC RPG Core Rulebook, two adventures, and a coupon to use at the Goodman Games website. 25 bucks gives you the DCC and MCC rulebooks, plus 77 adventures and supplements for the two systems. That's about 35 cents a book. Unbelievable!
