I started accounts for my two grandsons. I had fun depositing money into GoHenry because if they did a chore correctly for papa and I we deposited money on their cards. we took them to different places like the Plymouth plantation and they could use their card for little souvenir to take home.

This is a great app because I can monitor what when and where my son is able to spend his money on. He's learning and he loves the education that's available to him so that he can earn a little bit more. It teaches him responsibility and teaches him about investing for his future and, of course, saving. He really enjoys the lessons.

That's all i'm saying. Hi GoHenry, my name is Ethan and I recently got a card. Unfortunately, we have found out that you don't accept payments to my favorite store, XPlane.Org, because having a debit card is what I wanted. However-- when trying to get money OUT of the parent account and back onto a card, it is useless and once the money is in, it's in. They steal your money. So, I tried PayPal to pay my mom, and it said "Declined because this store is not allowed." Like what the hell? Give us our money back so we can switch to Greenlight! Waste of money, time, and DO NOT use this app.

I am glad the app is available for my kids on this ages since now all will be more technology on which my kids use cellphones but managed with parental control. But this aloud us parents to control and give allowance when they do good. I love the idea thank you so much.

DO not use go Henry, when you have a problem they don't help and they steal your kids money. My sn saved all his money, we had zero issue until he wanted his money from go Henry, it's been a month and I can't get more than , we will call you back within 24 hours, that never comes. They won't give you a supervisor and I don't know what to do next.

We used GoHenry for our three kids personal debit accounts. We were getting charged ~$10/month for the service. At one point, I noticed an unapproved charge show up on one of the cards. I immediately went into the GoHenry app and used the "block" feature, which I thought would turn off the card to any further transactions. THIS DID NOTHING. Apparently, if it's a subscription fee certain vendors can get around GoHenry's feature and the charges kept accruing. At that point, I asked the GoHenry support to help remedy this and they basically told me I had to go fix it directly with the vendor. So - for $10/mo I was getting limited functionality to help when cards get lost or stolen and decided to cancel. I've now switched all kids accounts to "custodial" accounts at my normal bank (one of the top 5 U.S. banks) and they basically have all the same functionality, plus legitimate fraud claims departments. The additional setup with the bank was well worth the $120/year fee I was paying to GoHenry.

I am sorry to hear about your experience when you noticed an unrecognised charge, I appreciate you contacted us to report this but felt the information provided was not satisfactory and therefore, led you to cancel your account and switch to another service.
As we are a financial service we cannot block retailers from taking payments in the same way a bank would be able to, therefore if a recurring payment or a subscription is set up on your child's account, we would first ask that you contact the retailer to cancel and resolve this, however, we do have an alternative process in place in case you are unable to reach out to the retailer and resolve the matter. I understand that this matter can be a cause for concern and we always try to assist our members with these cases as much as possible.
I would like the opportunity to look into this further and assist you with this, however, as you have not provided Trustpilot with your email address, I have been unable to locate your account.

GoHenry is helping me daughter learn to value of money and to save for the things she rally wants. She is becoming very frugal and deciding if what she wants is worth the price. GoHenery also gives parents a lot of control of how much they can spend and where they can spend, meaning parents have to give permission for the child to shop on the internet.

My nephew is growing his piggy bank and spending as he pleases, even though there was one hiccup when he tried to buy something and there wasn’t quite enough loaded onto his debit (only a few cents off, he was on a field trip and forgot that he had cash too, obviously not the app’s fault)!
The app alerted me about the “hiccup” and I adjusted his monthly payment accordingly. It’s been extremely exciting and useful. Thank you so much!

My granddaughters were able to use their card when we were on vacation at “ Six Flag Park Over Texas in Arlington Texas between Dallas Tx & Forth Worth Texas. We use it for Uber Returns Trip Back Home to ride the train & bus and snack on June 22, 2024 back to Baytown Tx

My daughter's first day of school with her card, tried using it at a vending machine and the school registers. But for whatever reason it kept declining. There's money on her card and it's not locked. Trying to figure out what the problem maybe before cancelling, I do not like the idea that she wouldn't be able to eat, because their school is card or apple pay. It's this doesn't work, I think I'll have to do apple pay. I wanted her to get used to using a card feeling more responsibility for herself in budgeting and saving money.

It's a great use of technology. It has motivated our kids to do chores around the house, learn about finances (which our public school system doesn't even touch until Junior year of high school), helps the kids learn responsibility, and the debit card is a convenient way to enable our kids to have money when they need it.
