Had a problem with my laptop shutting down after I updated Luminar Neo to the latest version. Support responded very quickly and after I supplied them with the requested information, they provided me with comprehensive instructions to resolve the problem successfully.

Problem with workflow on iMac has been solved from Skylum.
Download fotos from catalog was difficulty in waiting long time for it.
After preparing fotos and export as jpeg and starting new foto download Luminar Neo was crashing until then times in some minutes.
After receiving new link for installing Luminar Neo once again,everting was working fine.

Though I'm new to LN, things are looking quite promising. The software itself seems quite easy to use and the tools you need are easy to access. I have tried it as a plug-in to another image editing app and that seems to go well too. There are some terrific resources on YT by established photographers. The software itself is a real bargain, given its capabilities. I had some issues with installation, but the tech support people were able to help me get that fixed fairly quickly. I look forward to becoming competent and then proficient in LN and enjoying its feature set and ease-of-use for some time to come. And it is worth noting that for users there are small bonuses (in the form of presets and such), hints and tips forwarded from time to time.

Their refund policy sucks.
I had money taken from my account even though I received no notification of the amount or date.
It seems they sent an email on 3rd May and although I immediately cancelled my subscription the day they renewed they simply point at the policy and say no refund.

When I first started using the product performance was decent however each subsequent 'upgrade' (of which there are many) made it run slower and slower to the point that over the past few months I stopped using it as it was unbearably slow.

The upgrade process is also hit and miss and several times I lost the catalog (stores the changes made to images). This was a pain and necessitated redoing a number of images and some updates were just lost.

Also be aware the product requires an internet connection to operate which makes it useless if you're out and about or showing people the product and there's no connectivity.

Layers capabilities are seriously lacking if you've ever used Photoshop or even Affinity (which is a more functional cheaper alternative though harder to learn).

No way I will use this again. Snapseed on a mobile phone does much that luminar does and for free. I'm done with Skylum.

Update for UK users:

Under the "The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024" it would appear renewals are subject to a 14 day cooling off process making it illegal not to give full refunds within 14 days of renewals being taken. The act applies to all companies doing business in the UK irrespective of where they are based.

I first came across Skylum with Air Magic - a drone specific app that was way ahead of it's time back in 2019 and really made my early drone pictures pop. Air Magic was sadly phased out with the introduction of Luminar, which after V4 became Luminar AI and now Luminar Neo.

I really liked Luminar AI and have to admit to not being very keen on the first few versions of Neo so stuck with AI, but gradually migrated to Neo which is now the core workhorse in my editing flow.

Neo used to be just a step in the process as an app in Photoshop, but over the past 6 months I've realised that I prefer the way Neo handles RAW files natively so roles with Photoshop have now reversed and I only occasionally use PS once the edit is complete in Neo, if I think it can add something.

It's not perfect- the panorama's are pretty much redundant for drones at the moment in my experience, and some of the AI features don't really enhance a picture for me - but others like focus stacking outperform other platforms so it's a fair balance and Skylum are always updating and improving, to their credit.

Overall, Neo is just great fun to work with while giving excellent results. I find Photoshop quite a dull experience in comparison, despite it's obvious power. In combination with Neo, it's a perfect partnership for my needs, but if I had to choose only one to take to my desert island it would be Neo.

Easy to learn, lots to master, great support and most importantly, excellent images when used to it's strength's.

After upgrading my OS, I experienced trouble with Luminar Neo access. It was late in the evening ( Sunday ), but I submitted a request for a solution. The same evening, a few minutes later, the Support Team contacted me and resolved my issue. Awesome software and excellent support, 5 stars from me.

This product is awful, just wasted a years subscription on it. Everything is sooooo slow to react. After (eventually) editing a photo it takes 30seconds plus to save. Every edit programme is so slow to react. Stay clear of this product

After leaving PS because of their ridiculous rental pricing I relied on Luminar's products. They have worked well for me. I now use Neo as part of my processing.

I ran into a problem last week where Neo would not load correctly and the app would crash upon opening. I contacted support through email and was soon communicating with a tech. After a few emails they found the problem and gave me the procedure for completely removing Neo from all the nooks and crannies of my Mac Mini. I reinstalled and I'm back. Thanks Luminar!
