칼슘 활성 중성 단백질인 칼리핀은 비정형 세포내 시스테인 단백질이다.포유류의 수족관에는 어디서나 볼 수 있는 위, 근육에 특화된 단백질이 포함된다.유비쿼터스 효소는 공통의 작은 규제 서브유닛과 연관된 뚜렷한 큰 촉매 서브유닛을 가진 헤테로디머로 구성된다.이 유전자는 유비쿼터스 효소인 칼파인 1의 큰 서브단위를 암호로 한다.[7]
