Link riding the Master Cycle with the Triforce Tires on Hyrule Circuit

Released on November 13, 2014, The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8 Downloadable Content pack adds Link as a playable character based on his appearance from Skyward Sword. It introduces his signature vehicle, the Master Cycle, as well as its parts, the Triforce Tires and the Hylian Kite. The Downloadable Content also introduces the Triforce Cup, whose final track is Hyrule Circuit, a course that runs through Hyrule Field and Hyrule Castle. While racing on it, all Coins are replaced by Rupees. The starting line features the The Legend of Zelda logo, banners, and tents bearing the Royal Crest, with Soldiers as spectators. The race track also includes the Master Sword, Deku Babas, and Keese. The Master Sword can also be seen during some of Link's trick taunts.

A Mii in the Hylian Suit riding a Master Cycle with Triforce Tires on Hyrule Circuit

On the same day, support for various amiibo was added to the game via a free update. Once an amiibo was scanned, players were gifted an exclusive themed racing suit for the Mii depending on which figures were scanned. Scanning a Link amiibo rewarded you with a Link-themed motorbike outfit known as the Hylian Suit.
