Not to be confused with Medallions.

Medals are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Skyward Sword

In Skyward Sword, each Medal gives Link various enhancements when equipped in the Adventure Pouch. They are usually found in Goddess's Treasure Chests, or can be purchased from Beedle after upgrading the Wallet. Medals either passively boost Link's abilities or alter the results of things appearing in the Overworld. They consume one space in the Adventure Pouch as a result.

Hyrule Warriors

The following section is not part of the Zelda canon and should not be taken as such.

In Hyrule Warriors, each Medal is awarded as an achievement for meeting the requirements of a particular challenge. Medals come in three categories: bronze, silver, and gold. The categories for these Medals usually serve as an indication for the difficulty in which it takes to accomplish the required tasks. Certain Medals are only attainable through paid DLC, such as those requiring Warriors to complete certain Maps in Adventure Mode. Collecting Medals does not result in anything, and collecting all of them only awards in the final Medal, the True Hero Medal. The Medals earned are displayed in the Medal List.

Before the Miiverse service ended, a post would be automatically generated to Miiverse when Medal is obtained, provided that the option to do so was not turned off in the settings. The Miiverse post would simply announce that the Medal has been obtained, allowing others to comment on the achievement.

In Hyrule Warriors Legends, all but eight medalsLimit Breaker, Limitless Ambition, Pixel Perfect, Ultimate Ambition, Boss Hunter, Ganon Warriors, Challenge Master and True Hero from Hyrule Warriors are available in the base game and new Medals were added that are attained by using the new My Fairy feature. The fulfillment conditions of four medalsHundred Years Ahead, Bug Catcher, Know-it-all and Big Bro were changed and the in-game order of medals was slightly re-arranged. Following the release of paid DLC, new medals exclusive to the DLC as well as some medals from Hyrule Warriors not in the base game were added.
