Smog Parts are smaller forms of the Boss Smog, which it splits into during its battle with Link. Smog is fought in four phases, each of which begins with a certain pattern of Blocks appearing, and Smog splitting into multiple Smog Parts. For the first and third phases, it will split into only two Parts, while it splits into three for the second and final phases.

Once present, the Smog Parts will move around while hugging the summoned Block pattern. They cannot be damaged by Link by any means. Instead, Link must move certain Blocks and use the Cane of Somaria to create Somarian Blocks so that all the Smog Parts collide. If there are only two Smog Part, they will instantly return to forming the full Smog upon collision. If there are three, two combined will only result in a medium-sized Smog Part which must hit the other small one to fully form Smog. Once returned to normal, Link can damage Smog until it splits apart again.
