Location and Uses
The Travels of Link is an album compilation of the Photographs taken by the Photographer throughout Link's quest. It is given to Link by the Photographer in the Camera Shop after he takes the first picture of Link.[3] Afterwards, Link may encounter various events where the Photographer appears to take another Photograph.[4] The album can be obtained at anytime except when Link has someone following him.[5] Some Photographs can only be taken at certain times, and will be impossible to obtain if Link misses them.
If Link did not obtain the album yet, any moments where he would normally encounter a Photograph opportunity will be ignored until he does. The exception to this is the Photograph of Link Stealing from the Town Tool Shop; if Link Stole something before getting the album, the Photograph will already be present in the album.

Trivia
- Cutscenes occur before the photographs 2, 4, 6, 10, and 11 are taken. They are viewed in first person from the Photographer's perspective. If Link is wearing the Red or Blue Clothes, the color changes accordingly in these cutscenes.
- The photograph of Link shoplifting from the Town Tool Shop depicts readable Japanese text. The sign of the left reads 万引防止 (manbiki boushi), which means "shoplifting prevention"; and the sign on the right reads 万引は犯罪です (manbiki wa hanzai desu), which means "Shoplifting is a crime."
- While the photograph mechanic doesn't appear in Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, two of the cutscenes associated with the mechanic do. Specifically, Link and Marin looking out at the ocean and Marin falling on top of Link after jumping into the well in Mabe Village.[6]
