Welcome to the historical GitHub space of the Geohazards Exploitation Platform (GEP).
GEP started as an ESA Thematic Exploitation Platform activity and has evolved into an operational cloud-based Earth Observation platform operated by Terradue for geohazard monitoring, terrain motion analysis, critical infrastructure assessment, and disaster risk reduction.
This GitHub organisation contains material produced during earlier phases of GEP, including legacy projects, early application developments, sandbox-based processing experiments, and software deliverables created while GEP was developed as an ESA project.
Most repositories in this GitHub organisation are kept for historical, traceability, and contractual reasons.
They may include:
- early GEP software components;
- legacy applications developed for the former Developer Cloud sandbox environment;
- prototypes and demonstrations from previous project phases;
- public deliverables and supporting material from earlier ESA-funded activities.
These repositories are generally not actively maintained and should not be considered the current development environment for GEP services.
Active GEP development, integration, and collaboration now take place in the dedicated GEP GitLab environment:
https://git.geohazards-tep.eu/
The GEP GitLab is used to organise current and future technical assets, including:
- EO Application Packages exposed as GEP processing services;
- Jupyter notebooks and analysis examples;
- reusable tools and helper libraries;
- persistent scientific suites;
- subscription-based collaboration spaces.
This environment is more closely integrated with the operational GEP platform, including service deployment, cloud-hosted workspaces, user support, and processing workflows.
Users and organisations interested in developing, integrating, or running services on GEP should use the current GEP platform and GitLab environment.
GEP supports access through different routes, including service subscriptions, sponsored access opportunities, project-based access, and supported integration activities.

The Geohazards Exploitation Platform provides cloud-based Earth Observation services and collaborative environments for geohazard applications.
GEP supports data discovery, processing workflows, Application Packages, notebooks, Drive-based data exchange, GitLab collaboration, and cloud-hosted workspaces for expert users working with satellite data and geohazard information.
The platform is operated by Terradue.

This GitHub organisation may continue to host selected public material when GitHub is the most appropriate channel for visibility, citation, or open-source collaboration.
However, unless otherwise stated in a specific repository, active GEP service development and user collaboration should be expected to take place in the GEP GitLab environment.
This GitHub organisation is maintained as a historical archive of earlier GEP developments and selected public material. For current GEP development, service integration, and collaboration, please use the GEP GitLab and the operational GEP platform.
