Hi, I'm Toby!

I'm a Front End/Full Stack engineer since 2020.12.

I've previously worked on software to visualise AI-based cancer diagnosis results, which means managing heavy data and paying close attention to performnce. I've gained a deep understanding of data ownership and React's rendering processes because of this.

The coolest things I've done so far are the bullet-proof state system I made for the above app, which lets you configure the app's sidebar, relevant state, and rendering pipelines, all from JSON received from the back end.

I also made a POC for a data visualisation technique I called Bitmasked Tiled Images. You can see this in action at https://mars-viewer-nu.vercel.app/

I'm not just a Front End Engineer - I'm also comfortable in Go and Rust. I made a utility for processing huge images used in the above rendering technique in Rust.
