Coordination + discussion hub for building the NYC adapter.
Known sources so far (see COVERAGE.md for links):
- Regulations/time limits: ✅ rich, daily-updated dataset
- Meters: ✅ open
- Permits: ❌ no citywide model — NYC uses alternate-side-parking instead, a genuinely different rule shape than sweeping/permit-zone cities
- Crime: ✅ open (currently paused as a feature — see Should we show a break-in / vehicle-crime-risk layer at all? #1 discussion)
Real judgment call, not a clean drop-in: NYC has by far the largest population of any candidate city (~8.3M) and very aggressive alternate-side enforcement, but the missing permit model means the adapter needs different architecture than LA/Chicago's sweeping-and-zones shape. See SPEC.md → First adapters to build for the full reasoning.
