👁️ Iris - Intelligent digital support for your life

Iris acts as your personal AI assistant. It connects multiple smart systems to help you manage tasks, organize information, and keep your data private. It uses the Burgess Principle to ensure your data stays under your control while providing helpful, accurate answers to your questions.

🧠 What Iris Can Do

Iris organizes your daily tasks through smart routing. Instead of relying on one AI, it chooses the best tools for your specific request.

  • Conversations: Ask questions and receive smart, clear answers.
  • Knowledge Management: The system remembers past details to provide better results over time.
  • Task Planning: Use AI to help you build schedules and checklists.
  • Privacy Control: Iris processes your requests while keeping your information local whenever possible.

⚙️ Using the Interface

The main window serves as your main workspace. You will see a text box at the bottom. Type your question or task in this box and press Enter.

The model selector sits at the top of the chat window. You can leave this on automatic mode. Automatic mode lets Iris pick the best configuration for your needs. If you require specific tasks like writing or analysis, Iris adjusts itself to ensure the best performance.

The settings menu allows you to manage your preferences. You can clear your history, change the display theme, or adjust how the AI stores information about your past conversations. All these changes save automatically when you exit the menu.

🛡️ Privacy and Ethics

Iris uses the Burgess Principle to maintain your digital rights. This approach ensures that your interaction remains private. You own your data. Iris does not store your personal information on external servers without your permission. The system operates on your computer to ensure that your assistant stays independent and secure.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Does Iris need a constant internet connection? Yes. While the software runs on your computer, it connects to remote AI services to process complex tasks.

Is Iris safe to use? Yes. The software follows strict privacy rules. It only accesses the information you provide during your chat sessions.

Can I delete my chat history? Yes. Open the settings menu and select the clear history option. This action removes all saved conversations from your local database.

Where does Iris save my data? Iris stores all your information in a local folder on your Windows machine. You can find this folder in your Documents directory under the Iris subfolder.

What should I do if the app stops working? Restart the application first. If the problem continues, check your internet connection. If you still encounter issues, restart your Windows computer.

📂 Managing Your Files

Iris creates a local database folder to track your preferences. You can back up this folder by moving it to an external drive or a cloud storage service like OneDrive or Dropbox. This allows you to restore your personal settings and chat history if you decide to install Iris on a different computer later.

📈 Updates

New versions of Iris launch periodically to improve speed and add features. When an update exists, the application displays a notification in the main window. Click the link provided in the notification to visit the release page. Repeat the installation steps to update your software. Your existing data stays safe during this process.

🧩 Troubleshooting

If the text in the chat window appears blurry or the window does not resize correctly, check your Windows display settings. Ensure that your scaling settings sit at the default level recommended by Windows.

If the AI fails to generate a response, verify that your firewall software allows Iris to communicate with the network. Most modern firewall programs will ask for permission when you first start the application. Click allow to ensure the best experience.

If you notice high memory usage, close other programs that you are not using. Iris uses a small portion of your system memory to maintain the active conversation state. Closing background applications frees up these resources for the AI model to perform faster.
