Can you not make it possible to change start and end position of the area of the buffer to save. C64 eprom files (.crt) has 80 bytes in the begining to tell the Emulators or extract/burn programs what it is, like meta data for the file. Or make it possible to edit the buffer like insert or delete sections of it.
