I am a Senior Research Scientist in the Robot Intelligence Laboratory at Samsung Research America (SRA). I earned my Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where my research was supported by a NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunity award, a P.E.O. Scholar Award, a Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship, and a U.S. Department of Education Graduate Award in Areas of National Need. Before joining SRA, I led the Representing and Manipulating Deformable Linear Objects (RMDLO) project, developing deformable object perception and manipulation to enable robotic caretaking in space habitats that may be uncrewed for long durations. I hold an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and B.S. and B.A. degrees in Chemical Engineering and Music from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
