The one time you can actually say clearly, "damn, amazing direction." While not many of its aspects are exceptional; the timing, the combination, the way they decided to do this instead of that, the settings, are just pure awe.
Outside of that, there're unique VAs, amazing music, "shaft"-like background (abstract, repetition, mystery, etc) but more believable (a.k.a not total random), also nice story with superb ending.

Out of the box:
- Focuses on 2 major girls, one renown-but-serious and one energetic.
- Both are majorly girls, guided by male teacher/supervisor (albeit only one in Revue).
- Kageki Shoujo has realistic tone while Revue Starlight has fantasy/mystery aspects to it.
- Revue Starlight has more similarities to general CGDCT SoL while Kageki Shoujo to a competitive series.
- Overall, both are still very lighthearted with occasional jokes.
