Umi Yukaba is a Japanese patriotic song (gunka) based on a waka poem by Ootomo no Yakamochi in the Man'youshuu. As set to music in 1937 by Nobutoki Kiyoshi(信時潔) it was popular during and after World War II.
Umi Yukaba was sung before takeoff by many Kamikaze suicide attack pilots in the final stages of the Pacific War.
Umi Yukaba is also the name of a 1983 Japanese film.
