Pictures of the Overloon Warmuseum.

Here are, in a slideshow, the pictures I took at the Overloon museum of some of the vehicles and other weapons they have displayed. This is just a minor part of the whole exposition they have in the museum-halls. Missing for example, are more pictures of WWII stuff, pictures of the WWII pacific and the cold war. I simple didn't have time to take pictures of everything. I even didn't had time to go the museum-shop to see if they have something interesting to buy. Maybe I will go back to the museum in the spring or summer so I can take a look around without the pressure of playing in a tourney.
Although it ain't always the best pictures I still hope you all enjoy the slideshow.

Thanks for looking.

The day after.

Today is the day after yesterday's tournament.
First let start with the bad, sad news. I completely forgot to take pictures of the battles I played. Maybe I have 2 or 3 pictures. I know that is stupid. So now I hope that other people have taken pictures and that they allow me to use them on my blog. I do have pictures of all the tables (these will be posted later).
On the other hand I have a lot of pictures of the museum it self. These will also be posted later.
The tourney it self was a blast. Had lot's of fun. I played 3 games. First was a 6-1 loose, second was a 2-2 draw and the last was 4-3 win. If I find more pictures I will write a After Action Report later.

Here are 2 pictures of the hall plus tables the tourney was held.

There was a gamestore with a stand that was selling Flames of War stuff and of-course you always spend more money on your addiction then you had planned.
I bought 2 blisters with Land Mattress Rocket Launchers for my Canadian army, a box with Hedgerows, the direct order only Bocage (Straights) and the direct order only Bocage (Extra's). All the terrain pieces are from Battlefield in a Box and is looking great, as usual with the terrain pieces from Battlefield in a Box. (Pictures taken from the Battlefront forum)

Market Garden US Parachute Company Army-files.

I built the first army files from the new Market Garden book. Yep I bought the set with both books. But before I go the files I like to tell a little about these new books.
First Market Garden. This book contains all the allied army lists from the old "Hell's Highway" and "A Bridge Too Far" books and old Market Garden PDF briefings. The book also contains new army lists, army lists based on the Battle of the Scheldt. These are mostly Canadian lists but also a few British.
The Bridge by Bridge book. Like the Market Garden book this book contains all the army list from the old "Hell's Highway" and "A Bridge Too Far" books. Beside that there are several new lists included that saw action during Operation Market Garden. There are no specific lists for the Battle of the scheldt.
In both books the old army list from "Hell's Highway" and "A Bridge Too Far" books and PDF briefings have been updated with new stats, new points and even some new Company diagrams.
The look of the books. The layout of the books is great. The books have a hard cover and a sewn spine. They are sturdy. The lists in the books are, in my opinion, nice lists. There is not much wrong about these.
The biggest problem I have with the books is the many errors they contain. A few errors I don't mind, nobody is perfect, but there are more then just a few errors and some are just big errors. My personally opinion is that the proofreaders did a sloppy job. By just opening the book I already saw some errors, I didn't even have to read the book to see them.

On to the army-files I built.
The first 2 new army files from Market Garden I built are;
-Market Garden - 82nd Airborne Division Parachute Rifle Company (3v1.0)
-Market Garden - 101st Airborne Division Parachute Rifle Company (3v1.0)
In the "Hell's Highway" book the Parachute Rifle Company was 1 army list in which you could select which division you liked to play with some different options. In the new Market Garden book it are now 2 different army lists and both lists are now very different compared to the old one.
Something I like to note is that you should read the Notes sheet of the files because these contain important information.

Links to download both army files can be found here: US Files

I now going to slowly work my way through the book and update the old allied "Hell's Highway" and Market Garden PDF briefings to new army files. In between I will also built some new ones. If I will built army files for the Germans in the Bridge by Bridge book is something I doubt I will do.
