Orchids of All Colors

George and I stopped by the Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville,  North Carolina,  on December 2, 2013 on our way to Ocean Isle Beach for a few days.  While there,  we just HAD to visit the Conservatory to see the ORCHIDS.  Every time we go to see them,  there are some new ones which we have not seen before.  As you scroll through the photos,  see if you can decide which is your favorite one... I'll tell you mine at the end of the post.  ENJOY --and click on the photos for enlargements.

Well---which one if your fav????  Mine is the 3rd one from the top. I love the larger orchids --and those two colors together are awesome!!!

Nothing like pretty flowers to help us ALL feel a little warmer today.  The deep south has been having some very frigid weather --and people who seldom ever see snow have seen some now....  Here in Fairfield Glade --we had about 2 inches of snow and at 11 p.m. last night (1/28/14),  the thermometer on our deck said that it was ZERO degrees (F)....  Yipes!!!!!  I need another cup of coffee!!!!!

Please pop over to My Photo Blog (click HERE) to see one more gorgeous orchid--also a favorite of mine!

Have a great day.

Conservatory Beauty

From our trip to the Biltmore House and Gardens on Dec.2, 2013,  I have shared photos of the beautiful wreaths and of the Poinsettias and Amaryllis blooms in previous posts. Click HERE for other Biltmore posts.

Today I'll show you some of the 'overall' beauty in the Conservatory.  Hope you enjoy seeing the photos.  Be sure to click on the pictures for enlargements.

Isn't this place just magical?  I love it during other times of the year,  but at Christmastime,  when so much of the outside around us is bare and brown,  this greenery and color just puts new life inside of me... Hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you.

Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful Flowers in Winter

Amaryllis
When we visited the Conservatory at Biltmore House and Gardens on Dec. 2, 2013,  we captured some gorgeous shots of their Poinsettias and Amaryllis blooms.  Today, I'll share some of these with you.  Be sure to click on the photos for enlargements.

As you can imagine,  after seeing all of this beauty,  George and I were definitely in the mood for Christmas.  Now that it's well into January,  I must admit that since I love Christmas SO much,  I go through a 'down' time after it is all over...  There's just so much beauty and so much joy during the Christmas season.  I only wish there was a way we could keep that kind of enthusiasm about life going the rest of the year.  But--just like life itself,  there are always ups and downs!!!!!  Fun fun!!!!

NOTE:  Anyone getting an email from me (with a Cox.net address)--do NOT open it. I will not send out an email just with a link.  The one that hubby got, was a link and said AMAZING.   I must have gotten spammed!  I will change passwords AGAIN.  Thanks..

Another NOTE:  NOTE:  Anyone with Google+  may want to read THIS if you don't want your name used in advertisements --which you may not recommend.

Have a great day.

Christmas Wreaths

George and I have been to Biltmore several times  ---and have enjoyed visiting the Conservatory to see their Christmas poinsettias, orchids, amaryllis  and many other plants.  This year,  I started looking at all of their beautiful wreaths all around the Conservatory area (inside and outside)... SO---today,  I'll share some of these beauties with you...  I love wreaths --so it was fun looking at all of the creative things they did when making these wreaths...

Can you choose a favorite or two????  I had trouble --but will tell you my favorites at the end of this post.... Get a cup of coffee and sit down and enjoy seeing these gorgeous wreaths.  Be sure to click on them for enlargements.

Well----what do you think?????  I like the 3rd one ---but I'm not creative enough to appreciate the chipped-paint door..  I think it detracts from that wreath...  SO---my favorites are the first one with the ferns and the last one....  Which ones did you choose?

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you on Monday.

Hugs,
