Fall 2019 ROSES in our Yard

Daring Spirit Rose --9/13/19

Dear Friends,   I had one more post of our last year's ROSES in my folders..  SO--I thought it would be a good time to do this post.  Flowers make me smile ---and at these hard times in our lives,  we ALL need some smiles,  don't we?

When our ROSES started blooming in May,   I tried to post all of them at least once during the year.  SO --today I'll share with you a few more --some of which I hadn't posted on a previous blog.   PINK Roses seems to do well here in the Glade --so we seem to always have an over-abundance of pinks to share...  Hope you enjoy today's picks ---and I truly hope this post makes you SMILE.

Tropical Sun Rose --9/19/19  (a new rose in our yard last year)

Summer Nights Rose-- 9/15/19

Anna's Promise Rose --9/18/19 (This one is named after Anna in Downton Abbey.)

Falling in Love Rose --10/13/19  (a new rose in our yard this past year)

Cabana Rose-- 9/14/19

Double Delight Rose --9/8/19  (always a joy to see)

Moonstone Rose --9/16/19

Flaming Peace Rose --10/13/19 (another new Rose in our yard this past year)

Veteran's Honor Rose --9/7/19  (always a fav)

Aromatherapy Rose 10/3/19  

Mother of Pearl Rose --9/16/19 (a new rose in our yard this past year)

Pinkerbelle --10/13/19 (I've featured this one before since it has bloomed and bloomed all summer/fall.  This was a new one in our yard this past year!!!  I LOVE Pinkerbelle!!!!

Okay Friends... Any favorite ones of yours out of this group?   I do hope that these did make you smile for a bit... I hope and pray that you and your family and loved ones are all okay --and staying inside and SAFE.   George and I only went out once this week (to the grocery store and recycle center).  We went very early in the morning --when there were no crowds...  That worked out good for us.  Now --we are home until the grocery needs call our name in a week or so....

What are you doing to pass the extra time you may have now?  I am enjoying my Genealogy program --even moreso now that I've met a couple of cousins on my Dad's side of the family after taking the 23andMe DNA info-kit a few months ago.  I didn't even know these cousins at all before taking that DNA test.   SO EXCITING...

It's hard not to worry during this COVID-19 Coronavirus (about ourselves, our families,  getting necessary supplies,  people out of work,  etc.).... BUT--worrying doesn't fix this!!!  I have found that the best thing to do is to find things to do and stay busy!!!!!   BUT---I'm praying hard for you and for everyone!!!!   Those of us who are Christians know that God is in control ...

Thinking Spring --now that it is MARCH!!!

Love and Peace Rose --8/1/19 (I love our 'Peace' roses since we have several different ones in our yard.)

Dear Friends,   WELCOME to MARCH....   Even though the only flowers blooming so far this month here in our yard are some of our many Daffodils,  BUT-- I am definitely thinking SPRING today!!!  I cannot wait to see more Daffodils,  our Crocuses,  our Hyacinths,  Forsythia,  and TULIPS....   Yeah---I'm so glad it is March!!!!!

Today though,  I'm taking you back to AUGUST of 2019 and showing you more of our Roses which bloomed in August. Our Hybrid Tea and Grandiflora Roses will begin blooming in May and bloom until mid to late Fall.

If you are new to my Blog,  then you may not know that my husband (George) loves one of his many  hobbies,  Growing Roses.  Roses are NOT easy plants to grow --but George takes great care of them... I call them "his Babies"....

I get to REALLY enjoy the roses both outside and inside,  since he brings a beautiful rose inside,  puts it in a vase ---and gives it to me almost every day during the season.  I'm 'spoiled' as you can imagine --and wish you could smell these beauties!!!!   Obviously, I love every single bloom!

Simply Magnificent Rose-- 8/18/19  (A new rose in 2019 in our yard,  and she was 'simply magnificent'!!!)

Welcome Home Rose -- 8/4/19  (This Rose is appropriately named since there have been several times when we have just returned home after a trip,  and this rose is always smiling and saying "Welcome Home" to us as we pull into the driveway!!!)  

Hypnotized Rose---8/2/19  (Always a colorful bloomer in our yard)

The original Peace Rose --8/1219  (This pastel beauty has been in our yard for many years and continues to always be a favorite!)

Octoberfest  Rose --8/4/19  (This one is also appropriately named since it features some early Autumn Colors.)

Beautiful Dreamer --8/12/19  (I love this unique pink color.)

Bella'roma Rose-- 8/2/19  (Here is another rose which has been in our yard for many years --and is always a beautiful yellow rose --with a 'dash' of pink.)

Milestone Rose --8/18/19  (We first saw and loved Milestone at Biltmore Home and Gardens, so we ordered it for us, and it has been a beauty in our yard for several years now.)

Tahitian Sunset Rose ---8/4/19  (This has always been a beautiful bloomer in our yard.)

Pinkerbelle Rose -- 8/3/19  (A new Rose for us this year,  and she has bloomed and bloomed.  Such a beauty --and I love her name!!)

Sweet Afton Rose-- 8/12/19  (I love the pale pink colors in this little rose.)

Acappela Rose---8/18/19  (I love this red/white Rose.  It is similar to another rose we used to have,  Ronald Reagan.   I miss our Ronald Reagan --but love this one.)

Well---that's enough for today...  I have at least one more set to show you,  but that will come on another week...

Hope you have a fabulous week ahead.   Our forecast this week calls for spring-like temperatures,  with MORE rain!!!!!  Hopefully,  our spring/summer flowers will love all of the rain we have been getting.

Just to Put some JOY in your Soul

One of our favorite Roses we have had in the yard for many years;  Meet MR. LINCOLN after some rain.  This is one of the most fragrant roses we have!!!!! 

Hello Blog Friends,   Welcome to February!!!!!   Can that be????  Mercy Me!!!!!   How was January at your home?  We had a very mild and rainy month.   I am hoping to finally get a little WINTER weather here in Tennessee this month...????!!!!!!!  This ole woman would LOVE to see some snow before Spring!!!!!!

On the other hand,   I don't know about you --but Winter  can become drab and dreary at times....   Do you miss the warm Sunshine and COLORS of Spring and Summer?   I am one who loves WINTER --but will admit that I am in the mood for some COLOR today!!!!

SO--here are some pictures of some of the beautiful ROSES in our yard this past July (which I never found time to post on my blog ).   I am blessed to have a wonderful husband who loves to grow Roses.   He 'babies' them and takes good care of them ---and I get to benefit the results,  by admiring them and smelling them when they bloom.  He brings a beautiful rose into the house for me almost every day during the season.   Thank You,  George!!!!

ROYAL WELCOME --6/11/19

Hello Blog Friends/Family... Hope your October is going well SO FAR.   We finally have some Fall-like weather here in Tennessee  after  a long long September of record breaking heat and drought....Hopefully our October will be much much nicer!!!!!

I am posting Part II of the ROSES in our yard this year... IF you missed Part I,  click HERE.   I think we have had about 69 different ROSES to bloom this year.   I can't possibly choose a favorite one --since I love them all.

ABOUT FACE--6/27/19   (Love this one and its name;  The underneath part of the petals are that dark rose color and when the rose opens up, the upper part of the petals are a tannish-yellow color...Amazing little rose that has been in our yard for many years.)

ALEC'S RED--7/07/19   (another little beauty which has been in our yard for many years,  and this bright red rose has an incredible fragrance)

Hope you enjoyed seeing more of our amazing ROSES.... They have even done well during our heat wave and drought (thanks to George for watering them and taking such good care of them...

My son, Mark,   participated in the WALK for SUICIDE PREVENTION on Oct. 5 in Knoxville, TN. He was one of the speakers...  I have a video of his speech and have listened to it several times.  Debbie was such an amazing woman --and had so much to live for... She is greatly missed not only by Mark --but by many many friends and family members... I am so proud of Mark for doing this to raise awareness when it comes to Mental Illness.
