Glove World was in my favorite episode, Rock Bottom. That would have been a cool set, lots of weird creatures. They could have done a lot more with this too, but I guess they had to stay within a set budget.

I don't see any glove flashlights. Why do you fail me so, 2011 LEGO?!

By in Canada,

I have never seen an episode of this show, so I can only think this is a store and amusement park adjacent to a factory, like Hershey’s. Or LEGOLAND Billund.

Nice space helmet.

Honestly, I don’t glove this.

Hehe, my brother's watching Spongebob in the other room as we speak.

You have to watch the first three seasons and the first movie. They're absolute comedy gold. Like 80% of the stuff season 4 onward though is trash.

Much like The Simpsons, it has really overstayed its welcome on Nickelodeon. Can't go wrong with any of the episodes from Seasons 1-3 though. That was the golden age of the show. After that, it went downhill for a bit since the creator, Stephen Hillenburg left production, and by the time it had been running for 10 years, I decided it was time to stop watching because I just wasn't having fun with it anymore. It's not the nostalgia glasses blurring my vision, Seasons 1-3 are fantastic, the jokes are nonstop and it's a joy everytime you see a rerun, even if you've seen them countless times.

I watched the first episode the other day on HBOMax. Still very much hilarious to this day.

I miss LEGO Spongebob. Hopefully LEGO and Nick could work something out in the future.

By in United States,

Why was the theme not only discontinued, but pulled from shelves?

"^I didn't see it get pulled as I bought tons of sets on clearance. However LEGO lost all the Nick show licenses to I believe MegaBloks.

I think the first movie had the best trailer I have ever seen.

It's a voice over as the camera flies over different climates of the Earth. The announcer goes 'For all of time man has asked several questions; what is the meaning of life? Where have we come from? Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

I've never watched the movie or the show by damn that's the best trailer I have ever seen!"

I can confirm this, since Mega did some sets for the PAW Patrol movie earlier this summer.

Don't recall seeing this set here in the UK :(

Honestly doesn’t look too off from normal Lego them parks. I reckon you could fit it by alongside some of them and no one would notice

Because those sets didn't sell. And honestly, it's not hard to see why. Besides being based on a popular brand, those sets aren't even that interesting.

Here is a question for you: If this particular set had the exact same build, but didn't include any of those Sponge Bob characters you like, would you still be interested in buying it?
A LEGO theme, licensed or otherwise, needs to be able to stand on its own set wise, even without a popular brand to back it up.

Thank you for being mature enough to apologize publicly for a months old mistake. The world needs more people like you - no irony.

In case anyone is wondering the set is meant to be a Ferris wheel in a theme park with gloves for the seats. Although most of the episodes are more concerned about the roller-coaster and tunnel of glove which would probably be a few thousand pieces too far.

Ah Glove World... Just up the road from Hattytown.

@DavidBrick:
Any stock that was sold to outside retailers was allowed to sell until it was gone. Any stock held in LEGO warehouses or stocked to LEGO Stores (and possibly LEGOLAND stores) got recalled for destruction. This is _HIGHLY_ unusual for LEGO Brand Retail, as I have not seen this done with any other IP. Even TMNT (also a Nick property) had keychains linger on pegs for months after all the regular sets had been snatched up.

Besides, in the US, Spongebob sets did sell. Yes, it was probably more for the minifigs than the builds (the same can be said about a wide range of licensed IP sets, which is why many of them get unique minifigs), but it wouldn’t have lasted as long as it did if the sets were clogging up store shelves. Other retailers would have simply stopped ordering them after a couple years of sitting on unsold inventory.

As much as I love SpongeBob a lot of the sets could have been a little better, if they came out in 2016 they probably would’ve been amazing. Granted, SpongeBob wasn’t as popular (outside of Mexico) by that point compared to the go-to cartoon it was in the 2000s but still. While I like the Ferris Wheel this set doesn’t scream Glove World to me that much, granted it wasn’t until later in the series that we saw much of the park but still.

Okay I Have to admit I liked these sets, they looked fun. And spongebob is a show I used to watch as small child and its pretty funny. I wish lego still had this licence.

Kind of liked this set at release, but never got it. Although, to be honest, this really isn’t much.
