This 1966 Dodge Dart GT is a two-door hardtop that was acquired by the current owner in 1980 and subsequently fitted with a 273ci V8 with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a high-lift camshaft, and solid lifters. The car is refinished in black over black vinyl upholstery and features include a three-speed automatic transmission, Mickey Thompson slotted mag-style wheels, front bucket seats, a heater and defroster, an AM radio, and a dual exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers. This Dart GT is offered on dealer consignment with a Chrysler Certicard, service records, and a transferrable New York registration.
The car is finished in black and was repainted in 1999. Features include chrome bumpers, polished rocker moldings, rear stone guards, Dart GT badges on the C-pillars, fender-mounted wind splits, and a dual outlet exhaust that exits below the rear bumper. The car was in a front-end collision in 1974, and the left front fender, quarter panel, and doors were damaged and subsequently repaired.
The 14″ Mickey Thompson slotted mag-style wheels are mounted with mismatched tires. A full-size spare is mounted in the trunk. Braking is handled by unassisted drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, vent windows, rubber floor mats, a lockable glovebox, a dash-mounted ignition switch, and a transistor AM radio. The left front seat cover is cracked in several areas.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a column-mounted tachometer and a 120-mph speedometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and alternator charging status. The speedometer gear and cable were replaced in August 2001. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 30k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 273ci V8 was installed under current ownership and features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a high-lift camshaft, solid lifters, Mopar ignition wires, and finned valve covers. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. A dual exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers has been installed.
A Chrysler Certicard, initial purchase documents, and service records are included in the sale.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
