For those of you in a house with gas heating, make sure your gas exhaust pipe is not blocked. For us, it's a plastic pipe that points downwards, about 2 ft off the ground.

I could say many things about the #snowmageddon that is about to pound parts of the US, but for now I’ll leave it at this:
Do NOT use charcoal to try to heat your home. You and everyone in your home will die.
(Also, don’t burn anything else in an open grill/firepit situation to heat your home. Carbon monoxide from incomplete combustion will kill you. If you don’t have a fireplace with a flue, you can’t heat your home with fire).
Drain your pipes if power goes out, and bundle up.
