Booked Belgrade→Tivat

Booked Belgrade→Tivat; Air Serbia silently switched my arrival to Podgorica (different city), no notice at all. €130 taxi out of pocket, 3.5 hrs late, missed an event. Claim rejected in writing, claims portal just errors. Not what I paid for.

By far the absolute worst experience…

By far the absolute worst experience I've had with an airline after 30 years of flying. Boarding the plane in Skopje caused a 40 minute delay, even if the plane was visibly empty and seemed ready to board. Staff was nowhere to be found, no messages about the cause of the delay and when they expected to depart. No information before boarding or during the flight. Staff just acted as if this was business as usual. Most passengers had connecting flights from Belgrade, and missed their flights due to the delay. Staff was seen lingering about the aircraft while passengers were stuck in the shuttle bus waiting for no apparent reason in 30 degrees for 10 minutes, no explanation given. Uncomfortable seats on the plane, no leg room, no air condition in the heat. Staff didn't help transferring passengers get quickly off the plane. We barely made it by running through the airport, but of course our suitcases were left in Belgrade. Staff onboard the next Air Serbia flight lied about it and said that they would wait for our luggage, which of course they didn't. Fortunately we were going to Norway, and the staff at Gardermoen (not Air Serbia) was super helpful and quickly made sure that our bags would be on the next plane from Belgrade. I am shocked that a company this unprofessional and incompetent is actually able to make money. Never again. Next time I visit the Balkans, I fly Lufthansa or another reliable airline.

Trying to be premium but isn't

Hi
Paying extra for priority boarding or any other service that the airline offers is just a waste of money. I did it a couple of times and you don't get what you pay for. For example, priority boarding is a big joke. Went back from Belgrade to Stockholm on September 11, 2026 and stood in line for business class and priority boarding. Only got to get on the plane when they let everyone from aisle 11-23 in first. I wonder how the three people who paid for business class feel when they paid a lot more and probably expected to board among the first.
Then we won't talk about all the perks that you get with this company.
You pay premium prices and the quality unfortunately doesn't justify the price you pay. Might as well fly with Wizzair and get away cheaper.

Never again Air Serbia - delay, disrespect and unprofessional handling in every way

Our experience with Air Serbia was absolutely unacceptable from beginning to end.

On 10 September 2026, our flight JU683 from Tivat to Belgrade was severely delayed. At the airport, passengers were informed that there was a technical problem, and the captain later explicitly confirmed a technical issue on board.

Because of this delay, we missed our connecting Air Serbia flight from Belgrade to Düsseldorf, which was part of the same journey.

What followed in Belgrade was chaos. After an already exhausting delay, we first had to wait around an hour to get some sort of receipt and then had to wait approximately 1.5 hours just to receive hotel vouchers and information about what would happen next. We then had to collect our luggage and were transported by bus to Hotel Serbia.

The hotel provided by Air Serbia was extremely old and run-down. The blankets in the room were visibly dirty. After everything we had already been through, being sent there for the night was the final insult. I even have photographic evidence of the condition of the bedding. The food was a joke: after hours and hours of waiting everyone received a lunch bag containing a shitty sandwich (with meat) a rotten orange and a squeezed sugary croissant with a 0.5 l bottle of water!! Nothing else. Nothing for people who were waiting in lines for hours!

What disturbed me most, however, was the complete lack of care for the passengers. Nobody seemed genuinely interested in how people were coping with the situation. There was no meaningful assistance for elderly passengers or consideration of how physically exhausting this entire procedure was for them. People were simply expected to wait, queue, collect luggage, move around the airport, get on buses and somehow manage.

We finally had to get up again in the middle of the night to catch the replacement flight to Düsseldorf at 06:30 the following morning. Instead of arriving in Düsseldorf as planned on 10 September, we arrived the next morning after an exhausting and completely unnecessary ordeal caused by the disruption.

The problems continued even after returning home. Air Serbia's online claims system initially did not work properly for me. I attempted to submit my compensation claim by email and received no acknowledgement. I then spent considerable time trying again through their website. The process was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Only after changing browser and repeatedly going through the procedure was I finally able to submit the claim and receive an official reference number.

A disruption or technical problem can happen to any airline. What shows the quality of an airline is how it treats its passengers when something goes wrong. And that is exactly where Air Serbia failed completely in my experience.

After the delays, missed connection, endless waiting, poor communication, lack of consideration for elderly passengers, the unacceptable hotel accommodation and the unnecessarily difficult claims process afterwards, I have lost all confidence in this airline.

I will never fly with Air Serbia again!

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Air Serbia and would strongly advise others to consider alternative airlines whenever possible.

Ancient regional planes and abysmal service

The first thing to know is that this airline flies old turboprop planes for regional and domestic flights. These are old aircraft from the 1960s and 1970s with huge propellers on each wing. Very antiquated and unimpressive.

Our Kraków to Belgrade flight earlier today was a complete mess. Turboprop planes only board passengers from the back. We were one of the last couples off the tarmac bus, so it took a while to climb up the stairs and get on the plane. Our seats were in row 3 so by the time we got up to the front, there was no space for any overhead luggage. The genius stewardess then decides that it is appropriate for us to BULLDOZE our way through 20+ people in line behind me, in a tiny cramped aisle, in an effort to find overhead bin space in the back of the plane. I suggested that I just wait in my seat and let everyone go past, but no… the queen of customer service just blasted through everyone. As you can imagine, this was not well received by other passengers. And she did it while exerting a typical communist bloc stone-faced, totally devoid of any positive energy glare.

Our seats were uncomfortable and the service sucked. Then it was another bus on the tarmac to the gate in Belgrade. The gate was at ground level and there was no elevator, so yes indeed…there we were painfully lugging 4 bags up multiple flights of stairs.

Do not choose this airline if you want to fly comfortably or be treated like a valuable customer!

Avoid at all costs

Absolute corporate greed and a total scam! Air Serbia deliberately oversells flights and treats paying customers like garbage. I paid for my ticket in advance, only to be subjected to immense psychological stress at the Bari airport, holding a "standby" ticket and being left in complete limbo. They gamble with people's lives, mental health, and travel plans just to squeeze extra money. This is hands down the most stressful, unprofessional, and disgraceful experience I’ve ever had with an airline. Unethical business practices at their finest.

I would give this negative stars if I could

⭐ 1/5: I would give Air Serbia negative stars if I could

I’m a full-time nomad and fly constantly. This was, by far, the worst airline experience I have ever had.

I had a connecting flight through Belgrade. My first flight was delayed by approximately 2.5 hours for reasons Air Serbia would not explain, causing me to miss my connection.

When I arrived in Belgrade, the nightmare continued.

It took 1.5 hours just to get rebooked because there was literally ONE person working the counter for a huge line of stranded passengers. When I finally reached the counter, the staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful.

You also don’t get to choose from available replacement flights. They simply assign you a flight and essentially tell you to take it or leave it. The couple directly in front of me was rebooked on a flight two days later.

Then came another 2.5-hour wait just to receive a hotel voucher.

Getting to the hotel meant yet another line, followed by being packed onto a bus with roughly 60 other stranded passengers. The entire experience was line after line after line, with seemingly no concern for the fact that these passengers were already exhausted because of Air Serbia’s disruption.

I finally reached the hotel around 10 PM. Calling the accommodation unacceptable would be generous.

The “dinner” provided was a few pieces of overcooked chicken and lettuce. The hotel smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, appeared dirty, and I saw bugs. I was genuinely afraid to open my luggage because I was concerned about bringing bed bugs with me. I did not sleep. I stayed in one place until I could leave and returned to the airport as soon as possible.

The hotel staff told me the tap water was drinkable. When I turned on the bathroom sink, the water came out brown.

The accommodation Air Serbia provided felt like a health hazard. Based on its condition, it is difficult to understand how Air Serbia considers this an acceptable place to send passengers overnight.

Delays happen. What makes this experience unacceptable is how Air Serbia handles passengers once something goes wrong: inadequate staffing, hours of waiting, terrible communication, rude service, no meaningful choice when rebooking, and unacceptable overnight accommodations.

Air Serbia turned a flight disruption into an all-night ordeal.

I travel constantly and have dealt with delays, cancellations, missed connections, and rebookings all over the world. I have never experienced an airline handling a disruption this poorly.

I would strongly recommend avoiding Air Serbia, especially for any itinerary involving a connection through Belgrade. Based on my experience, if anything goes wrong with your trip, do not expect Air Serbia to take care of you.

I will never fly Air Serbia again.

A sunny day in Belgrade

A sunny day in Belgrade, with a perfectly blue sky and 27°C. I’m seeing my mother, who is almost 80 years old, off to Sofia. We arrived at the airport two hours before the flight, and the flight was showing as on time.

Hugs and tears — the same ones that have repeated themselves for 30 years.

I love Serbia — its people, its culture, and its land. My husband is Serbian.

For 30 years, we have been flying back and forth, always returning home to the Balkans. Home, sweet home.

There have been many flight delays over the years — storms, bad weather, and other understandable reasons.

But today, **just two minutes before the scheduled departure time, the flight was cancelled.** My mother was already at the gate. I received the cancellation email **45 minutes later.**

It’s one thing to make money from people, but leaving 100 passengers at the airport for five hours is simply not fair. They could have informed us much earlier.

I don’t know what kind of organization they have at this airport, but I believe passengers deserve to be treated with respect. **No passengers, no flights.**

**Air Serbia has lost me as a customer.** In the amount of time it took us to travel to the airport and for my mother to wait there, I could have driven to Sofia and back to Belgrade. I chose the flight because it was supposed to be the faster and more convenient option.

Well, today it wasn’t.

I already know what someone will say: *“Welcome to the Balkans!”*

No. That’s not how it should be.

Serbia is a beautiful country, and its national airline should represent it that way.

I am deeply disappointed with Air Serbia. They clearly have a lot to focus on and improve as an airline.

**What a shame.**

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. Budget airline? No way, after they refuse boarding after arriving 30 seconds late to gate due to insufficient signage of gates in Belgrade. We had to purchase new tickets to athens at a cost of RSD 24280 and wait 6 hours. We then sat on the tarmac for over 1 hour before taking off. Staff are extremely rude and condescending. DO NOT FLY AIR SERBIA NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. MONEY GRABBING SCUM

I flew from Belgrade to London on 26…

I flew from Belgrade to London on 26 August at 10:25 am, and the checkin experience was utter chaos. I waited over an hour just to drop off my bag. I almost missed my flight. Passengers for earlier flights were constantly moved to the front, leaving the rest of us waiting even longer. The few staff working looked completely exhausted and overwhelmed, but what was particularly disappointing was the attitude of some of them, very rude, lots of shouting and no basic customer service.
At one point, a staff member brought a wheelchair passenger to one of the few general check-in desks rather than the available priority desk. It took over 20 minutes, making an already long queue even worse. When we asked why she wasn't using the priority desk, she simply replied that she could “do whatever she wants.” That was so inappropriate...

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! NEVER book airserbia. I just booked a flight, noticed that they booked a wrong flight to get there (I originally wanted to fly in the morning but they sent me a confirmation that it was in the evening) and I wrote a message to costumer care that I originally wanted another flight. The man from the callcenter was extremely rude & said, that I can't change it, because I would have had to send them over callcenter the information. If I don't come on the one flight, I will have to book another flight back & forth. They want your money! Nothing else than that!

EXTREME DISCRIMINATION for people with special needs

We had 2 flights with Air Serbia. First, we were sending my grandmother, 79 years old, back to Moscow. We arrived at the registration desk, and as she is a person with difficulty walking were asked to wait for a special assistance rep. However, after some time, a certain Nikola jumped out of his desk and started almost screaming at my grandmother to follow him immediately, walking away from her very quickly. I asked him to please walk slower, as she cannot walk at his speed, but he kept rushing in a very rude way, seriously rude way. So I asked him to lower his tone and please slow down. After that request he starter screaming at me that if we won't do as he tells, SHE (pointing a finger at my granny IS NOT GONNA FLY AT ALL). Honestly, this was getting ridiculous, as she REALLY cannot walk, so no matter how he screamed she simply is not able to do that... His colleague came along and I tried to explain to her one more time (which again: HOW MANY TIMES should one explain what is clearly visible???? and for what this special service was requested) They made us walk through the whole floor, and Nikola all the way kept on showing in an ironic way the speed with which we were walking, making a million tiny awkward steps to show how intolerable it was for him to walk so slow... I wanted to cry of this helplessness... How can a service representative be so mean as to not only force the weak to do what they cannot, but also make fun of it? I tried to make a video of him doing so, but I guess it was not his first time, as he immediately turned and forced me to cancel, controlling that I cancelled also from the Recently Deleted folder, continuing humiliating my grandmother and blackmailing me with her flight cancellation. His colleague, a young lady, who seemed to understand at first that my grandmother had serious difficulty walking, still was fully supportive to him, occasionally smiling when he was impersonating that problem of an old person. I just wish that they would know that for her it is big personal drama that she cannot move as fast as she would wish, especially in the airport where time is very valuable. And that people working in the place that is supposed to help other people should at least be respectful enough not to make fun of elderly people with special needs.
