Emirates does not care about its passenger's concerns

The representatives I spoke with were very condescending and dismissive of my concerns.

Given the current conflict involving Iran and the broader regional airspace situation, I personally would not feel comfortable flying Emirates through Dubai right now. The UAE's proximity to the conflict zone and the evolving regional security situation are serious considerations for travelers.

What concerns me most is that Emirates continues to sell tickets to Dubai despite the security concerns and travel advisories surrounding the region. As a passenger, I would expect an airline to prioritize clear communication and passenger safety above all else.

For anyone planning to travel to the region, I would strongly encourage you to review the latest U.S. government travel advisories and consider alternative routes before booking.

Emirates was my go to airlines to fly to my home country. Now I would never fly this Airlines because of this experience.

Very Disappointing Experience with…

Very Disappointing Experience with Emirates – Poor Customer Service at the Mumbai Airport - international terminal

I had to make an emergency family visit to India, and unfortunately, my return journey with Emirates on 18 September turned into an extremely stressful and disappointing experience.

I was already under significant mental and emotional stress due to my family situation. At the airport in India, I was allowed 30 kg of checked baggage, but both of my bags were slightly overweight. Instead of receiving reasonable assistance at the check-in counter, I found the staff at P04 counter uncooperative and unwilling to provide any practical support.

I was asked to remove items from my luggage and bring the bags down to the permitted weight. What was particularly frustrating was the lack of flexibility or assistance in resolving the situation. I was then asked to put my carry-on bag on the weighing scale as well. The staff member insisted that I put my laptop backpack inside my carry-on bag. I did not have an additional purse or sling bag with me, so this meant that I had to rearrange my belongings and effectively lose valuable carry-on weight just to comply with the requirement.

The whole process was unnecessarily stressful and frustrating. What made matters worse were the very high charges for the excess baggage, especially considering that the bags were only slightly over the permitted weight.

My biggest concern was the apparent lack of consistency as other customers carried the carry on and laptop bag separately and no customer consideration at the counter. For an airline with Emirates' reputation, I expected a much more professional, supportive and reasonable approach, particularly when dealing with a passenger travelling under difficult personal circumstances.
Please note...the flight service was good

This experience left a very bitter taste for me. What should have been a straightforward journey became an unnecessarily stressful ordeal because of the way the baggage situation was handled.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not intend to travel with Emirates again, and I would not recommend Emirates to others. I sincerely hope the airline reviews the way baggage issues are handled at its airport counters and provides better training and customer support to its staff.

Extremely disappointing experience.

Suparna Biswas's appreciation

My wife Suparna Biswas, travelled to Dubai on EK007, where unfortunately a young man near her seat wasn't feeling well and vomited. Emirates staff immediately attended to this. To her surprise, they were quite concerned about her wellbeing too! They took her to the shower facilities where she could clean up and felt alright again.
Kudos to Emirates flight attendants - they make so much difference!

Smooth refund experience

Had a flight change for a a return flight 6 months out that did not suit us. Were able to discuss our options with friendly customer service, and opted for a 100% refund for both outbound and return flights. Went through without any hassles.

A library of poor service and customer support.

1) Despite rescheduling the arrival time into Dubai they refused to put us on an earlier flight- we then missed our connection.
2) In flight service was poor and rude. They missed my wife when serving food and then were rude when she asked for food. At the same time they failed to offer me a drink
3) It took over 3 hours at the airport to get a suitable rescheduled flight to our final destination. (Their original offer was 2 days later)
4) They then said our bags would be at the hotel in 2 hours, it took 12.
5) Next day they dropped us off at the wrong terminal and refused to take us to the correct one.
6) On check in for return they refused to check us in as we had been to Uganda (Ebola) and had to be Ebola free for 21 days before entering UAE. This despite me showing them the Emirates website that clearly states that transit of Dubai is not a problem they had "to ring Dubai" to confirm before they would allow us to proceed. (This limitation had been effective in UAE for over a month)
7) They allowed a pax and his son to run around when seat belt signs were on, oblivious to the fact that he could fall on one of us a hurt us and in contravention of a legal command of the Captain.
8) Out of Dubai they managed to throw a tray of drinks over my wife and myself.
This is supposed to be an airline with the highest of standards and customer care and service. The whole trip was one failed promise after another and failed customer support.
Follow up has been similarly poor.
I struggle to find any reason to fly with Emirates in the future

Very disappointinDisappointing Experience – Aircraft Changed Without Notice & No Free Flight Changeg experience with…

Very disappointing experience with Emirates. We booked around 5 months in advance specifically for an A380 flight, as we are travelling with an infant and also arranged a bassinet. Emirates subsequently changed the aircraft without informing us, and we only discovered it accidentally.

When we contacted customer service and requested to move to a flight operating the originally scheduled aircraft, Emirates would not offer the change free of charge, despite the aircraft change being made by the airline.

I understand operational changes can happen, but customers should be informed proactively and provided with reasonable alternatives when an important part of their original booking changes. This is particularly disappointing when travelling with an infant and relying on facilities such as a bassinet.

We chose Emirates expecting premium service, but unfortunately this has been a very disappointing experience.

I would say ok

I would say ok , but I got my staff stolen , I sent all the details but the e-mails I have been receiving they have been asking for the same information that I have sent already, seems nothing is being done. Now they have stopped responding to me. I just need my money back or they can buy what has been stolen from me. I made my report on time .On my way back flight delayed for 3 hrs . No explanation was done till the time we were supposed to board . We arrived the following morning, no breakfast was served . Other things were fine .

MyEmirates has lost its touch: Scripted agents and fighting for basic ticket rights recent experience dealing with…

My recent experience dealing with Emirates customer service has been nothing short of exhausting and frustrating.

Due to regional tensions, I contacted customer support to cancel my flight. Despite my ticket terms clearly allowing cancellation for a fee, the agent flatly insisted I was not eligible to cancel at all. Left with zero helpful alternatives, I was forced to rebook to a completely arbitrary date just to avoid losing the entire value of the ticket.

To make matters worse, my booking met all the criteria for Dubai Connect (including the complimentary hotel stay). Yet again, the representatives incorrectly claimed I was ineligible. I had to waste hours arguing, pushing back, and demanding escalations before someone finally acknowledged the policy and honored what was promised from the start.

Dealing with Emirates support felt like speaking to human robots reading off rigid, inflexible scripts rather than trained professionals trying to resolve issues. Having to fight tooth and nail just to receive standard policy entitlements is completely unacceptable for an airline that markets itself on premium service. I will seriously reconsider booking with Emirates in the future.

Very disappointing experience with Emirates. My suitcase was damaged during my journey. I reported the issue and provided photographs, but despite following up several times, I have still not received a proper resolution. I expected much better customer service from Emirates.

No compensation received

If I could put less than one stars I would! Our flight was delayed by over 12 hours due to ‘operational reasons’ in December and we are still waiting for our compensation! The lead passenger and myself have contacted Emirates multiple times with no resolution. Emirates mission statement for a Customer Experience: Delivering top-quality service, comfort, and innovation in the air and on the ground. My experience has not been top quality. It has been deeply disappointing. Emirates are refusing to accept the delay and the compensation we have a right to receive.

My flight was cancelled

My flight was cancelled, which was a few days after the Dubai flood. The only thing they could offer was an alternative flight, which was worse than the initial flight. That only happened after I called them multiple times. No compensation for the cancellation or anything like that. I had the same experience with KLM, and I got refunded almost full amount.

Emirates and flydubai: Partners in profit, but not in taking responsibility for customers’ problems.

I have always believed that when you purchase a ticket directly from an airline, you should be able to expect that airline to take responsibility for your overall travel experience. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with Emirates have left me extremely disappointed.
On my recent journey from Pakistan to the UK, my flight was cancelled and I was rebooked because of a change in the Emirates partner flydubai schedule. My original itinerary had a 3-hour layover in Dubai, but the new itinerary left me with an 18-hour layover.
I contacted the Emirates customer service team several times, hoping they could find a reasonable alternative. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly told that because part of my journey was operated by flydubai, Emirates could not assist me. When I requested basic support such as a hotel and meals during the extended layover, I was again told that I was not considered an Emirates customer for that part of the journey.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that I purchased my ticket directly through the Emirates website. I had no involvement in how Emirates and flydubai structured their partnership or decided which airline would operate my flights. Yet when something went wrong, I felt as though I was being passed from one airline to the other.
I was travelling with my family including Children under 16 and as a result, I had to spend approximately £200–£300 of my own money on accommodation and meals because of the disruption.
Unfortunately, this was not my first negative experience.
In 2024, I booked a journey from the UK to Pakistan through Emirates, which again involved a flight operated by flydubai. That flight was delayed by around 6 hours at Birmingham. We also experienced serious baggage problems: our luggage was not delivered for four days, and four of our bags arrived damaged and effectively unusable.
When we contacted Emirates, we were again told that because the flight was operated in partnership with flydubai, we needed to deal with flydubai instead. After numerous emails and considerable effort, flydubai eventually paid approximately £170, despite our losses from the damaged luggage being closer to £600.
The most disappointing part of both experiences was not simply the delays or baggage problems. It was the feeling that neither airline was willing to take ownership of the customer's problem. As a passenger, you can end up feeling like a ping-pong ball being passed back and forth between two companies.
After these experiences, I have decided that I will not be travelling with Emirates again in the future.
My advice to other travellers is simple: please check carefully who is actually operating each sector of your Emirates itinerary, particularly when flydubai is involved. A ticket purchased through Emirates may still involve a flydubai-operated flight, and based on my experience, getting support when something goes wrong is impossible.
I hope Emirates and flydubai seriously reconsider how they handle these situations. Partnerships and codeshare arrangements may make commercial sense for airlines, but the customer should never be left feeling that nobody is responsible when things go wrong.

Horrible experience! I will never fly with them again. If you run into any trouble or miss a flight because of their error, you are completely on your own, they refuse to help at all, even their stuff at the airport too. Stay away!

Lot EK501 linii Emirates z Dubaju

Emirates flight EK501 from Dubai to Munich on 28 January 2026 was a huge disappointment for me.

I was travelling as part of a group of nine people. Passengers seated at the rear of the aircraft, including children from our group, had to wait an exceptionally long time for meals and drinks.

When the cabin crew finally reached our section, there was not enough food left for the passengers seated at the rear. The only remaining option was of very poor quality.

The cleanliness of the cabin was also disappointing. There were crumbs on the seats and wet, dirty stains on the floor.

However, the greatest disappointment was the way my subsequent complaint was handled.

I expected a much higher standard from an airline with the reputation of Emirates. Unfortunately, both the experience during the flight itself and the way the complaint was handled left me deeply disappointed.

Humiliated and physically handled by an Emirates manager

I have travelled with Emirates regularly, but my experience on flight EK773 from Cape Town to Dubai on 7 September 2026 has left me deeply upset and questioning whether I want to fly with the airline again.
I boarded with an Economy ticket and had been told at check-in that I could pay to upgrade to Business Class onboard. When the payment initially would not process, I explained that there were sufficient funds on my card and that it appeared to be a connectivity/payment-machine issue.
What happened next was shocking.
An onboard manager became extremely aggressive towards me. He shouted at me in front of other passengers, physically grabbed me, took me and my belongings back to Economy, and threatened to call security. I had not raised my voice, been aggressive, or refused to pay. I was simply trying to purchase an upgrade.
I was so humiliated that I broke down in tears. Other passengers were visibly watching what was happening, and the incident was concerning enough that another passenger began recording it.
After take-off, I asked again to pay for the upgrade and was told the payment machine was not working. It was only after I said I wanted to make a formal complaint and began recording the conversation for my own record that the machine was brought out. My card worked, the payment went through successfully, and I was upgraded to Business Class.
By then, the damage had been done. I was so emotionally distressed that I did not eat during the flight and could not enjoy the Business Class experience I had paid for.
The manager never apologised, and when I asked for his name, I was not given it.
Most troublingly, the way I was treated has left me genuinely concerned that I may have been racially profiled. I do not make that suggestion lightly.
Whether a passenger is travelling Economy, Business or First Class, nobody deserves to be shouted at, humiliated, physically handled or threatened with security when they have done nothing aggressive.
I have submitted a formal complaint to Emirates and sincerely hope someone from the airline will contact me and properly investigate what happened. There were witnesses, another passenger recorded part of the incident, and I also have my own recording.
Flight EK773 | Cape Town to Dubai | 7 September 2026
I hope Emirates takes this seriously because this experience has significantly affected my confidence in an airline I previously chose to travel with regularly.

My recent experience with Emirates has been a nightmare.

My recent experience with Emirates has been extremely disappointing, and I hope the airline takes this feedback constructively.
I traveled from San Francisco to Nairobi via Dubai on August 22, 2026, expecting a smooth and enjoyable vacation with my family. Unfortunately, my baby’s stroller was lost during the journey, and as of September 8, it still has not been recovered.

I understand that baggage can occasionally be delayed or misplaced, and I appreciate that these situations can be challenging to resolve. However, losing a baby stroller has had a significant impact on our trip. Traveling with a baby without a stroller has caused us considerable inconvenience and stress and has unfortunately turned what should have been a wonderful vacation into a very difficult experience.

What has been particularly frustrating is the amount of time that has passed without my stroller being located. I believe Emirates can do better when it comes to communication, follow-up, and taking ownership of situations like this.

I hope Emirates will urgently improve its baggage-tracking and customer-support processes so that passengers, especially families traveling with young children, are not left feeling helpless when essential belongings go missing.

I have generally viewed Emirates as a reputable airline, which is why this experience has been especially disappointing. I sincerely hope Emirates takes responsibility, makes every effort to recover my stroller, and provides appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused.

I am sharing this review not simply to complain, but in the hope that Emirates will use this experience to improve its service and prevent other families from going through the same ordeal.
