Misleading advertising

Unive's Pechhulp Binnenland policy says that a hire car is covered. 'Bij pech, zorgen wij voor een vervangende auto'. This insinuates that the car can get me home within the Netherlands. However, there is a 100km limit per day on the hire car. This information is not public, and took us until having to use the policy to find out. This is misleading advertising, as we are clearly not covered within the whole country with a hire car.

I wish I could give negative stars

I wish I could give negative stars. The customer service is impossible - nobody knows the correct process, or how to solve a problem - they only know that it's 'not my job'. The result is that you get sent from one department to another, hours on the phone, with no result. Literally impossible. It doesn't matter if they're cheap, if you can't even get them to help you.

Update (because I can't reply to Unive below):
There always seems to be someone who does want to solve the problem on Trustpilot... where are they when I call Unive? Must be a different department.

Constant spam calls

I keep getting calls from an unknown number marked with "suspected spam" that doesn't leave voicemails, so I block the number

So I look up the number, and turns out, it's a number from Unive that calls you to ask if you're happy with your insurance and if you'd like to sign up for more. Horribly annoying, and doesn't make me feel safe in being a customer knowing that my number can be used for pseudo advertising.

They deactivated online cancelation

They deactivated online cancelation , it looks like the website has an issue. I was trying to call them for several time in a month they are not reachable even they take the phone they hang up. No answer on emails. Terrible customer service. I cancelled everything and went to another provider.

Do you like adventure?

Do you like adventure? Univé is then a good choice.
You can be left on hold 7 hours after a car accident that is not your fault, and acutally get answers to SOME of your questions one week after.
You company car can be neglected 2 MONTHS in a foreign country without them doing anything to expatriate it, then wait another month when they finally make a move.
They will ask you TWICE, OWN RISK for the same accident
They will cancel your NO CLAIM discount for someone trying to rob your car and vandalize it.

You can run a company depending on a car and stay months not knowing how you are going to continue with it, meanwhile they just increase your monthly invoices, for claiming damages provoked by third parties.
Do you like it tough? Come to Univé they know how to treat victims tough

Do not pick this company!

Do not pick this company!

Here's how they operate:

1. They raise parices yearly.
2. They remove benefints that you explicitly chose to pay extra for.
3. You still pay extra - even though you lost the allowance you paid extra for.
4. They inform you about such changes by sending a 21 page pdf written in cryptic legal terminologi policy language.
5. They ignore customer serviec inquries.

6. This is general... you cannot change insurance company whenever you want, only once per year 31st December. This puts them in an incredible powerful postion to screw you over for an entire year, should you fail to realize that they changed your policy, and that the price is now far from competitive. This company puts an honor in taking advantage of this privilege - they do NOT work in YOUR intrest.

This basically means that every single citizen has to review and understand the massive policy every single year to make sure they are covered according to their need and are paying a reasonable price for that coverage. I thought there were EU laws in place to protect consumers against this kind of screwtiny.

Water damage

Water damage; I must say, unhelpful and only sending so called 'experts' to gather evidence to dismiss a claim. However, in our case the location of the leak was never established with certainty. I would recommend to insure with FBTO or some other company. Their service is much better. They send a builder around - not a person simply to do some measurements, who then comes with some vague recommendations without establishing the cause with any certainty. You should not feel safe when insured with Univé when it comes to water damage! - I'd recommend changing insurer.

One star is still too much

One star is still too much! THE WORST insurance company I have ever dealt with. they sent us roadside assistance without a replacement car, which took our car and left us in the cold with our luggage. For 8 hours they assured us that a replacement car was on its way, but it never arrived home, I had to return at my own expense, so I ended up spending 12 hours in the cold. What's more, I was discriminated against because I speak English and it's a Dutch insurance company, so I should speak Dutch! Two weeks have passed since the incident and the insurance company still doesn't know what's going on with our car, which is parked in Germany. No information, very bad contact with customer service where the waiting time for a call is an hour and they still hang up on you during the conversation.

Dont choose Unive!

Decided to try a new insurance this year. Well, Really bad decision. Unive insurance send invoice with amounts that are grouped, not detailed per transaction. how do we know is correct then? Well, We sent them an email to request more details of what we are being charged, and what do they do, they blocked our email 🥲.
DO NOT CHOOSE THIS INSURANCE.

Really bad insurance

Really bad insurance.
I got it after I had an issue in my house. I understand they will not help when I had the issue and then i got the insurance. But 3 years later I have the same issue happening and they also dont cover it even the event is 3 years after i got the insurance. I paid them for absolutely nothing! Im stopping with them.

Terrible service

Terrible service.
The people on the phone were rude, unhelpful and willing to help.
Terrible service in the call for legal advice. The person on the phone didn't speak english well. The person on the phone sounded rude and aggressive in their words and tone of voice. The person seemed irritated that I didn't speak dutch. The person on the phone was irritated when I asked them to transfer me to someone else that speak english better. The person refused to transfer me to someone else and told me to call again when I was waiting for someone to pick up the call for almost 20 minutes. The person on the phone was rude and unhelpful and didn't provide any guidance for the problem I presented to them. They refused to help me at all.
I reported this poor experience to Univé and their answer was equally terrible.
They told me in their email answer that "they tried to speak English as a courtesy" and that I should hire a translator to talk to them for me. This is a form of structural racism that by not speaking dutch, an insurance company neglects to give me access to their legal advice that I'm paying for.

Thiefs

Thiefs, they kept charging my bank after the sale of the vehicle. The refuse to refund the money despite accepting they new the vehicle was sold and no liability should be transferred to me.

I would give 0 stars if possible

I would give 0 stars if possible. I had my bicycle insured for a week with them. I had a question to verify with them, chatted over whatsapp, giving me a wrong information and insisted me to call a number. I explained I am not a dutch speaker and when I call number, menu does not direct me anywhere, I randomly pick options and never go further. The reply on chat was very rude, asking me to get a help from someone speaking dutch which in that moment was not possible for me. I asked if they could arrange that insurance agent calls me back but they could not do that simple step. Finally after few days I got on a call and the moment I said I speak in English, the person just hanged up saying no english. Soo, I made a decision I am done with this company. I cancelled unsurance and got another company. Today, I received an invoice with full 1 month premium plus cancellation fee to pay while for 14 days, you cancel insurance for free. I am not going to pay it, its not about 8 eur pay or not, its just a principle and for such a low quality , rude and poor service, unive does not deserve even 1 cent from me.

Horrible Communication

I picked Unive because it was supposed to have great costumer service but that couldn't be farther from the truth! I have called over 10 times to get a refund for a mistake which I provided proof for. Multiple employees have said I should get a refund but I never got one so I called again and was told my a different employee I was actually not getting a refund but couldn't tell me why. Each time I called after that I got a different reason for why the refund could not be completed. When I was given a reason and pushed against it they could not explain themselves. Meanwhile, the process of sending the proof took forever, no one knew where I should send it I never got confirmation that they got my email or that the refund was initially accepted and then canceled. Then earlier this month I get a random email saying they are canceling part of my insurance because I never paid! I got no warning what so ever, I have paid on time every time accept for the first payment in which the refund was supposed to be issued. Apparently they are two different services that do not talk to each other. I didn't even realize when I paid the one bill it didn't go to the other service as well and I got zero emails reminding me or warning me of this missed payment just that they were canceling my insurance and charging me an insane fee for missing the payment. I have cried so many times over how frustrating this all is, avoid at all costs!!! Especially if you are an international!!

Waiting time on 20/12/22

I tried to conclude my health insurance for 2023, but I had some questions.
After 53 minutes of waiting time I was fed up, now switched to a different one (and was helped after less than 2 minutes)....

It took them almost a year to look into…

It took them almost a year to look into the system and do some effort to find my non claim bonuses, lazy well paid staff who talk down to customers, go to any insurance comparacent machine to find a better insurer

I got a letter that my premium would be…

I got a letter that my premium would be adjusted if additional information for my car insurance was not delivered on time. First of all the letter was sent to an old address and with luck I got the letter from a neighbor. This happened although I changed my address many times in the app of Unive. I called Unive thereafter and there was no understanding regarding the time limit for getting the additional required documents. Spoken out my experience but customer service had no understanding at all. Did not even take into consideration this information was not given that they needed the additional documents. Very bad customer service even though monthly I am paying my premiums on time!!!

Horrible service and website out off function

Pr the 10/06 I stop my insurance online as you take 4 times the amount one off your competitors take for the same insurance (that alone is insane).
My money is taken a few days after and I take them back.
A month later my money is taken again and your phone is out off service on a normal day middle off the day.

Now I will have tried to get through many times waiting 20 min and then having to go.

Today I finally got through after waiting for 30 min. I can understand I will have to pay until tomorrow and you can’t do anything about your websites error.

I suggest you check your own website VERY well. Consider your prices and your prices vs your service (paying high means higher service not lower).

Sorry but this is outrageous and I will be talking very loud about it between friends and family.

Have a nice evening.

Any customers reading this: call them. Don’t trust their website. You will have zero prove of your work. I know they suggest themselves, but use that phone and let them actually pay for there website not working.


Oh and let’s not forget they pulled multiple insurances over so at some point I paid for 3 insurances for vechiacles for 1.

Terrible user experience

I'm always having problems with my declarations, the app not working, the website not working, no one responding to my texts via their whatsapp service, etc. I really hate being their customer.
